This is a sushi restaurant located in Harukodai, Asahikawa City, in a residential area. I heard that their shime saba sushi is delicious, so I decided to have lunch there. Although they don't have a lunch menu, I didn't mind as I planned to have the shime saba sushi anyway. They offer both nigiri and chirashi style shime saba sushi. I ordered the "Shime Saba Chirashi" (1,800 yen). The chef neatly placed the saba on top of the vinegared rice. It seemed like a generous amount of saba was used. The shime saba had a perfect balance of flavors, not too sour, and the rice was just right. It was garnished with chopped ginger and white sesame seeds. The chef even asked me if the saba was too strong, but it was just right with a moderate amount of fat. I thoroughly enjoyed it till the end. The meal also came with udon soup, which was a nice addition. I also wanted to try their nigiri, so I chose from the recommended items of the day: uni, kinmedai, and kohada. The prices were 500 yen for uni, and 310 yen for kinmedai (both raw and seared available). These were relatively high-end items, but the prices for the nigiri were quite reasonable. The uni was from Abashiri, and it was rich and flavorful. The kinmedai had a good amount of fat and was delicious, especially the seared one which brought out its sweetness. I was also intrigued by their "Special Nigiri" which includes 10 recommended items of the day. The chef and the hostess provided excellent service, and I really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of this hidden gem sushi restaurant in a residential area!

On December 27, 2022 at 5:30 PM, I tried the Shime-saba Chirashi that I saw on BlueBlue34's post and it was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary serving of soba noodles. The mackerel had a nice tangy flavor and was easy to eat, making it very satisfying. I forgot to take a picture, but I also ordered the zanki, which was delicious too!

I visited "Yoshi Sushi" in Harukodai, Asahikawa City for lunch on a hot summer day with temperatures exceeding 30°C. I decided to go there after reading reviews from BlueBlue34 and HotHotStar. I made a reservation over the phone and was seated at the counter. I ordered the "Medium/Sashimi Nigiri Set for 1,400 yen" and my companion ordered the "Mackerel Chirashi for 1,800 yen". While waiting, they served cold somen noodles as an appetizer, which helped cool us down a bit. The "Medium/Sashimi Nigiri" included tuna, octopus, squid, scallop, flounder, salmon roe, egg, and mackerel, all of which were delicious. The freshly made sushi at the counter was truly exceptional. The "Mackerel Chirashi" had plenty of mackerel on top, and the thickness of the fish, seasoning, fat content, and vinegar rice were all perfect. The sesame seeds added a nice touch, making it incredibly delicious. The master and mistress's service was pleasant, and this has become a favorite place that I would love to visit again.

I saved this review a while ago but completely forgot about it... typical me... (^-^; This time, after reading a review about Blue Blue 34, I suddenly remembered and decided to go before forgetting again. The highlight of the visit was the "Three-Item Chirashi Assortment" with marinated mackerel. The chef and hostess were very friendly and welcoming, making me feel at ease even though it was my first visit. I initially planned to just have the mackerel chirashi, but decided to ask for a mix of mackerel, tuna, and saury, which they happily agreed to. The saury was the recommended item of the day. They even served simmered noodles while I waited for the chirashi. When the chirashi arrived, it was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The seasoning was perfect, and the vinegar rice was just right. It's no wonder they specialize in mackerel chirashi. For a woman's lunchtime, the appearance, taste, value, and cleanliness are all important factors. If these are all in place, it's a definite repeat visit for me. That's why "Yoshi Sushi" has become my go-to restaurant for mackerel chirashi, great service, tasty food, and simmered noodles. It's been a while since I found a restaurant that I'm willing to make the effort to visit, and I'm happy about it. Thank you for the meal.

Tonight's dinner was the raw chirashi sushi from Yoshizushi, priced at 1250 yen. I got it for takeout. The pack was large with plenty of toppings including salmon, tuna, scallop, octopus, sweet shrimp, squid, red snapper, flying fish roe, egg, surf clam, white fish, and squid legs. There was a lot in there, making it especially delicious. I'd like to try eating it in the restaurant next time.

There was no lunch menu, so I hesitated between chirashi sushi and others but decided to go with mackerel. The vinegar rice had chopped pickled ginger in it. The mackerel was thin. Although I felt like there was not enough mackerel for the amount of rice, it was a delicious and slightly fancy lunch.
