I went to "Bistare Bistare"♪, a restaurant that opened in January 2011. The interior of the restaurant was smaller than I expected. There were Japanese staff and a Nepalese chef in the kitchen. I wanted to order a set menu, but there were four options and I had a hard time choosing. In the end, I ordered the Tandoori Set and Kathmandu Set. The Dal (bean soup) was served first. The portions were too much for me, so I ended up taking some side dishes home. The Naan was delicious, freshly baked and a debut for me. The Shrimp Curry was more like a shrimp cream sauce than a curry, and the Green Curry had asparagus and broccoli, enhancing the vegetable flavors. The Tandoori Chicken was tasty but spicier than the curry. The Chicken Tikka was boneless Tandoori Chicken. The Seekh Kebab was a spicy minced meat skewer. The Malai Tikka was marinated boneless chicken with cashew nut paste. The Fried Momo and Samosa were like croquettes wrapped in dumpling skin. The flavors were spicy, and I regret not trying to adjust the spiciness using the sauce provided. I want to try dipping the delicious Naan in the curry from another famous curry restaurant. The Tandoori Set includes a choice of curry (Shrimp Curry), Naan or rice (Saffron Rice or white rice), Tandoori Chicken, Seekh Kebab, Chicken Tikka, Malai Tikka, salad, and a choice of dessert (vanilla ice cream). The Kathmandu Set includes a choice of curry (Green Curry), Naan (half size), Saffron Rice & white rice (half size), Seekh Kebab, Malai Tikka, Fried Momo, Samosa, salad, Papadum, and a choice of dessert (mango yogurt).
