Visit date: April 13, 2022
For dinner on this day, I visited Tamuchan with a friend. We were originally planning to go to another restaurant, but when we passed by Tamuchan and saw that there were no customers, we decided to take the opportunity and went in.
Our order included:
- Seasoned Genghis Khan (980 yen)
- Ramen Salad (650 yen)
- Premium Malt Beer x2 (550 yen each)
- Oolong Tea (350 yen)
The seasoned Genghis Khan meat was tender and thick, but the flavor was nothing out of the ordinary. The dish was served with a lot of salad, which was unexpected.
The Ramen Salad was a typical dish with sesame dressing. I personally didn't like the thin noodles used in the salad.
The owner was friendly and had a warm personality. Unfortunately, the signature meat dish was not available that day due to sourcing issues.
Overall, it was a bit difficult to rate this experience, so I gave it a 3.2.
Thank you for the meal.

In January 2021, I had some ankake yakisoba at Hoa Shizu and had a drink, which made me feel energized. Since I was in the mood to try another new place, I decided to visit this newly opened restaurant. It seemed to be a ramen shop before. The interior was quite narrow, with only enough space for about 5-6 people at the counter, following social distancing guidelines maybe 3-4 people. The owner, who was around the same age as me, kindly allowed me to take photos. I started with a draft beer, and the owner recommended the sand liver confit and a sashimi platter featuring Takigawa duck. It was my second time trying sand liver confit, but my first time having Takigawa duck. It was delicious, although I wished it had a bit more salt. I would like to try the bone-in meat next time. The sashimi platter arrived with two large button shrimp and octopus sashimi. I thought it would be better to have a separate plate for the shells. The shrimp was exceptionally tasty. The menu also mentioned oysters, which were not available that day, but they change depending on the season and source. They also offer craft beer, and the fact that they are open until 3 am is quite appealing. Establishing a familiar relationship with such a small restaurant would be nice. Cheers to the courage of opening a new business during the pandemic.
