Ryo, a charcoal-grilled chicken restaurant located on the basement floor of Esta Asahikawa Building in 4-jo 8-chome, Asahikawa City, offers a recommended dish - the herb-grilled lamb skewer (450 yen per skewer). The lamb was tender and delicious. Recently, a group of people who share a love for something in Asahikawa (probably not ramen) gathered to hold a farewell party for me. The last time I drank with this group was probably in September 2018. I also met K again for the first time since December 2017. The venue was Ryo, a charcoal-grilled chicken restaurant selected as a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide Hokkaido 2017, located on the basement floor of Esta Asahikawa Building in 4-jo 8-chome. We toasted with Sapporo Perfect Classic draft beer (570 yen for a medium-sized glass). The appetizer was fresh cabbage (380 yen), served with miso for dipping. It was a good snack and palate cleanser. The drink menu included various options such as Sapporo Lager, Asahi Super Dry, shochu, chuhai, sours, wine, and a selection of sake. I tried the Tosatsuru Junmai Ginjo Suiso, made from comet rice from Higashikawa Town, and found it to be fruity and slightly sweet. It was delicious. The food menu offered items like tsukune (chicken meatballs), Aomori Shamo chicken negima skewers, homemade pickles, gizzard, chicken knee cartilage, liver, plum chicken breast, and tripe stew in tomato sauce, among others. We enjoyed a variety of dishes and drinks, including sake and beer. It was a fun and enjoyable evening with friends. Finally, my blogger friend Mantaro showed up wearing a Yamagoya T-shirt 2022 Ver with a tiger design. Thank you to everyone for the farewell party. It was a long time since I had such a great time drinking with all of you.

I visited a restaurant for the first time for a business trip dinner. I made a last-minute reservation and opted for the 4000 yen course. The course included several yakitori dishes and one additional dish, all of which were delicious. The main yakitori dishes were cooked perfectly with great attention to detail, and each one was very tasty. The chef was friendly and the atmosphere was enjoyable. Thank you for the meal, I will definitely come back again!

Tsukune: A mixture of cartilage with a coarse ground texture, soft and satisfying. Tomato salad: A feast for the senses. Tebasaki: Carefully prepared and cooked to perfection, very satisfying. Shamorokku: Super muscular, with a great texture and a delicious savory flavor combined with the aroma of green onions. Quail: A perfect combination of creamy egg yolk and anchovy salt, absolutely delicious. Grilled asparagus: Asparagus paired with high-quality crispy bacon, a delightful combination of seasonal flavors. Grilled norimaki: This is a must-try. Thank you for the feast. I think it is a yakitori restaurant where carefully made yakitori can be eaten. However, the customer service attitude of the female staff was not very good, which was disappointing. It's a shame because the atmosphere and taste are good. The lamb skewers were thick and juicy. I would like to eat them again if I have the chance.

The shop quietly standing on the basement floor of the building may not look very inviting from the door outside, but once you step inside, you will see a stylish shop with a chef constantly standing at the grill. The dishes were all incredibly delicious.

Asahikawa Trip in September 2022 (๑´∀`) I was taken to a yakitori restaurant recommended by the Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand 2017. By the time we arrived, I had already been drinking for 4 hours, so my memory is a bit fuzzy. The atmosphere was nice, and I was impressed by the herb-grilled lamb, which was my favorite. It was tender and had no strong lamb smell. I regretted drinking so much beforehand (* >ω<) I'll have to visit this place as the first stop next time. Thank you for the meal (^ω^)

We made a reservation for two on a regular night at 6:00 PM and visited the restaurant. Every skewer dish was so delicious that we were impressed. Especially, the grilled lamb with herbs skewer was incredibly tasty. It was full of juicy meat and flavor. The pace of serving the skewers was perfect, they would bring out the next skewer just as we finished eating the previous one, so we always had the best dishes. Our stomachs and hearts were satisfied as we left the restaurant.

In Asahikawa at night, I couldn't enter the restaurant I wanted to go to because I didn't know it was closed on weekends. I wandered around the station looking for a place and found this one. I went down the stairs to the basement of a building and entered the restaurant. Even though the seats were full, they seated me at an empty table for two. The interior of the restaurant, bathed in warm light, had a sense of cleanliness and a comfortable atmosphere. You could see skewers being grilled at the counter, and people chatting and drinking at the table. There were even families with children. The skewers all looked delicious, so I couldn't decide and asked the female staff for help. She kindly let me choose a set within my budget. I also ordered additional chicken and vegetable skewers. The appetizer was cabbage, which I think was eaten with miso. I waited for the food with a beer in hand. The skewers were brought to the table one by one as they were grilled, so I could eat them while they were still warm. Each skewer was well-prepared and cooked to perfection, offering a high level of satisfaction. The chicken and vegetable skewers were generous in portion, and they were mixed with grated nagaimo and okra, making them a perfect palate cleanser. After the beer, I tried a different sake in a glass each day. They had a great selection of sake. If this restaurant were near my home, I would want to visit it again and again. It was the best skewer restaurant I have ever encountered. Thank you so much.

I have visited this restaurant several times. The yakitori is very delicious, but the menu doesn't change much, so I hadn't been there for a while. In response to the request for "not an adventure, but a delicious restaurant," I selected this place this time. - Appetizer: Cabbage with special miso sauce. - Perfect Classic (570 yen): Creamy foam in a thin glass, perfect for someone who doesn't eat much. - Fresh Tomato Salad (690 yen): A must-order dish here. Sweet tomatoes with a good aroma of basil and balsamic vinegar. - Tsukune (190 yen): Crispy on the outside, tender and meaty inside with a good texture of cartilage and delicious sauce. - Quail with anchovy flavor (190 yen): Another must-order dish. The semi-cooked egg and anchovy's unique flavor are irresistible. - Tripe stew (590 yen): This dish had more cheese this time, and the strong cheese smell was appealing to me. I love this rich cheese flavor. We also had various types of sake, and my favorite was the Yuki no Kayo Junmai Ginjo Hiyaroshi, which had a sweet taste. Visited the yakitori restaurant "Ryo" at Forest Asahikawa GC after a round of golf to enjoy a delicious beer. The beer after a hot round was the best (lol). I was hungry, so I ordered the omakase course for around 3,800 yen. The yakitori was delicious! The appetizer of okra and chicken wasabi salad was perfect for summer.

Today, I tried the cabbage miso dish which was sold out. Started with a draft beer and then had a refill with a glass of red wine. The negima, seseri, shiitake skewers were big and satisfying. I ordered two of each as usual, but ended up regretting it. The toriwasa dish was different from what I expected, but it was a proper dish with tender meat. The grated yam and okra added a nice touch. Finished with a tofu dish in broth. I was too full to try the herb-grilled lamb and quail. It was truly a great dining experience. It might be better to try unique dishes rather than the usual skewers at this restaurant. I would definitely like to come back again.

Michelin Hokkaido 2017 Bib Gourmand selected yakitori restaurant... The chicken was delicious, and the lamb was also very tasty (first photo is the lamb herb-grilled skewer). The homemade salt, infused with broth flavor over a week, paired perfectly... The most surprising thing is the high cost performance. Courses range from 3000 yen to 4000 yen for the most expensive one. (*At the time I visited, the prices had not yet increased, so I had the 3800 yen course.)

It's a shop where you forget that you came to Asahikawa. I have visited several times, but I always forget to take photos. It's a chic and calm yakitori restaurant where you can enjoy freshly grilled skewers one by one at the counter. The owner is like a craftsman, very elegant and the yakitori is delicious. On 20/04/08, a special gathering was held with 5 people attending. We chose this place that I had been curious about for a while, after consulting with the guest of honor's junior. We ordered the 2700 yen course this time. The dishes were served in the order of the photos and all of them were delicious enough to match the price. The tsukune (meatball) in particular was exquisite. The drink selection was satisfying as well. The Perfect Classic was truly perfect. However, the waitress should have confirmed the order for the reserved seats in advance. I was sweating nervously as the organizer. Also, having customers serve drinks and dishes themselves was unacceptable. This place is supposed to have a certain level of elegance, not like a casual pub. After finishing a big job, I wanted to have a blissful moment with my wife, so I searched on Tabelog for a place with a counter at a yakitori restaurant with a calm atmosphere. That's how I found Ryo-san. It's located in the basement of a mixed-use building and has a nice ambiance. We started with a Sapporo Lager bottle beer for ¥570. The appetizer was cabbage with miso, which had a good balance of flavor and saltiness. The tsukune was crispy on the outside but melted in your mouth. The negima was crispy and tender, although the meat was a bit small. The liver was moist and delicious. The tebasaki was crispy and tasty, but the meat was a bit lacking. The torisoup had a refreshing taste with a hint of shiitake mushroom broth. Personally, I prefer a richer soup, so I found it a bit lacking. The shiitake skewer was soft and delicious. The norimaki was crispy and tasty. The red wine, Shiraz Cabernet, was decent. Overall, the yakitori was good, but there wasn't anything outstanding. I had been checking this place out because it was selected as a Bib Gourmand. Ambience & Service: Unlike most yakitori restaurants, the atmosphere here is calm and elegant. The attention to detail in the tableware and the overall upscale feel of the restaurant are noticeable. The sight of the owner grilling skewers diligently in front of the counter is also beautiful. Food: The chicken skewers are consistently delicious, although the difference in taste from other places is not very clear. The lamb skewers are cute in appearance, tender, and juicy without any unpleasant smell. I was surprised that the tomato salad was 90% tomatoes, but it was beautifully presented and tasted sweet and delicious. Other dishes were also enjoyable, with no standout items. I was drawn to an underground trendy yakitori restaurant with charcoal grilling. Unfortunately, they were fully booked, but they said, "If you can come by 6:30, it's possible." I arrived at 5:45, planning to eat quickly and move on to the next place, so I took a seat at the counter. As I thought there would be more coming, I ordered a highball and paid a seating fee of 350 yen, which came with raw cabbage and miso. The skewers, including tsukune, negima, hatsu, reba, nankotsu, and isobeyaki, were all carefully grilled and served piping hot. I also had a few different types of sake, including "Kokushi Muso" from Asahikawa Takasago Shuzo and "Daishinshu" from Nagano Daishinshu Shuzo. I forgot to take photos, so unfortunately, I couldn't capture the beauty and deliciousness of the grilled skewers. The owner, who is from Asahikawa, worked in Nagoya for five years before returning home to open this restaurant. He grills each skewer meticulously and quietly. Next time I come to Asahikawa, I will make a reservation and visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I've always wanted to go there and finally went for the first time (^^) The atmosphere of the restaurant was calm, there was no smoke, and the grilled dishes were exquisite and delicious! I love the tsukune and lamb dishes. It's now ranked as one of the restaurants I want to visit again. The sake was also delicious, and the recommended sake at that time was great. I enjoyed delicious sushi to my heart's content and my stomach and heart were satisfied. Despite this, due to my frugal nature, I ended up going to another restaurant. The town of Asahikawa is compact, making it easy to get to the next place quickly. I ordered a draft beer and 4 skewers even though I wasn't really hungry. The appetizer was chopped cabbage and garlic-flavored red miso sauce. The skewers had a familiar taste, and later I found out that the owner had trained at a famous yakitori restaurant in my hometown of Nagoya. The tsukune I had later was juicy and flavorful, while the seseri and negima were good but the chicken itself wasn't particularly tasty. The umesasami had a good rare cooking but the plum paste was too sweet. Overall, the taste was decent but not outstanding. I usually prefer a yakitori place in Gifu that is far more delicious than this one, so my evaluation may be biased. In any case, thank you for the meal.

I entered an underground shop and looked around, noticing that there were many women. As expected, stylish shops are different. First, cheers with beer! I tried the tsukune. The tsukune here is round and easy to eat, and the sauce coating it is delicious. The liver was perfectly cooked.
