As a lover of Baumkuchen, I had been curious about this shop that I had seen on Instagram before it even opened. When I visited in the afternoon, there was still a wide selection of all the varieties available. And guess what! They had added new flavors! Each piece still had paper stuck to the center, so be sure to peel it off before eating! ・Plain Baum I didn't take a photo, but I was able to try a piece of the Plain Baum! It was moist with a texture like a cross between steamed bread and chiffon cake. It had a strong egg flavor, which I really liked! ・Brulee Baum This one was chilled and even moister than the Plain Baum, with a fluffy and chewy texture that I loved...! Plus, it had caramelized sugar on top, making it extra sweet! For those with a sweet tooth, definitely give this a try!! After eating this, I thought about chilling the others as well... ・Almond Crunch Baum This was a recent addition to their lineup, and being a fan of almonds, I was drawn in by the visual presentation. However, perhaps due to being tightly wrapped in plastic to prevent drying out, being stored in the fridge, or just the nature of the product, the expected crunchy almond texture was lacking, and it was rather soft... I didn't really get the aroma or texture of almonds. I had imagined a crunchy texture, so I thought I would have been better off sticking with the Plain Baum (not much difference). It may vary by individual piece, but the texture was not as moist and dense, even when chilled, it had a light and fluffy feel. While some people may like this, my personal favorite was the Brulee Baum. I'm also curious about the one piece that has a different color, I'm sure it's moist and delicious. It has a good shelf life, so it's suitable for singles (which is important to me personally). If you like steamed bread or chewy chiffon cakes, this Baumkuchen might be right up your alley. On the other hand, if you prefer to peel off the layers as you eat, it might not be exactly what you're looking for. It's quite the opposite of Croissant Tanaka or Nenrinya's solid sprout Baum. Thinking about it, it's similar to Nenrinya's soft sprout or Moist series. It's like a slightly firmer version of those. Personally, I enjoyed this kind of chewy and moist Baumkuchen, so even though the location is a bit inconvenient, I hope they do well...! Oh, and they also have Mini Baum, which is a more manageable size! I'm glad I got to try them this time! Thank you, Wu-ta-san!!! (((orz
