"YamYam" has been transformed into "MiniYam," focusing on the most popular menu items. This seems to be a survival strategy. The interior of the restaurant has also been renovated with a new layout. I will order my usual favorite menu item: Nori Takoyaki Bento (changed from croquette to fried squid, large size) for 680 yen. The taste and portion size remain the same as before, but the seaweed has changed. Instead of being spread all over the rice, now it comes in three pieces of flavored seaweed on top. It's a bit disappointing as I preferred the previous style. I wouldn't mind paying 10 yen more to have it spread out like before. Nevertheless, it's still delicious."

I knew there was a place, but the opening hours were until 4:00 pm. If I waited until then, I would get home very late. Even so, it was still written in my notes. My friend and I booked a hotel in Kushiro to go drinking. Finally, the chance came. But do bento shops not serve lunch customers? I finished work late, so I should arrive earlier than closing time. I decided to stop by, just a little off the main road. When I arrived, it turned out to be Yamu Yamu. Why? Has the business changed? Maybe it's because the university is nearby? Indeed, it was right next to a public university, and the clientele was young. The atmosphere was lively, and the menu made me think of fried rice with fried chicken. I ordered the Zangi fried rice for 720 yen and waited about 10 minutes. I also had a reservation at another place, so my wife was getting impatient in the car. The time was getting tight. It was the first time in decades that we were going out for drinks. My wife said she was going to make something soupy, but she ended up not making anything. This has become my eating routine. The fried rice was salty and had an unusual level of saltiness, maybe because the target customers are university students? The rice was fluffy and the pork had a good texture, not bad. It was like a fried or sautéed dish. The batter was thin. It was also salty and had a chemical taste. The meat was decent. I had it yesterday, and it was terrible, so compared to that, it's not as bad. As a Yamu Yamu fan, I decided to think of this place as a "Mini Yamu." It's like a different restaurant to me.
