Regular Sunday morning activity... I heard that there is a cafe open from 8:00 in the morning near Fukuzumi Station on the Toho Subway Line, about a 5-minute walk away. It's a bakery called "Donk." When I entered the store around 8:15, there was a space on the left for selling bread, a kiln in the back, and a cafe corner for eating in on the right. The cafe corner had a high ceiling with a skylight, large windows up to the ceiling, and a bright and clean atmosphere. There were two round tables, five tables for two, one table for four, and two sofa seats for four in the back. There was only one family-like group of three customers in the store. You can order drinks to enjoy the items from the sales booth in the cafe. I ordered the "Morning Soup Set" for 650 yen plus tax, which included bread, soup, salad, and coffee. The coffee was served in 6 minutes, followed by the rest in 9 minutes. The salad consisted of lettuce, baby leaf, purple cabbage, cucumber, cherry tomatoes with Italian dressing. The vegetables were fresh, but the dressing seemed a bit too much for my taste. The bread, lightly warmed in the oven, lacked a special touch. I wished there was butter. The soup contained carrots, potatoes, onions, parsley, bacon, and small clams, probably clam chowder. The coffee had a nice crema, possibly made from a fully automatic espresso machine. It was stronger than typical coffee chain stores, but a larger size option would be appreciated. It would also be nice to have the choice of having coffee before or after the meal. In the morning, the staff seemed scarce as the phone kept ringing without anyone answering it. The morning menu mainly focused on bread, but they also offered pasta for lunch. There were two people making bread, one person selling, one in the kitchen, and one on the cafe floor. The cafe corner was always about 80% occupied, and the sales corner always had customers. Despite being busy, the staff's customer service was of high quality, moving briskly and efficiently. Each staff member seemed to fulfill their roles effectively. While there seemed to be a few areas for improvement, the place felt like a well-established local gem. Thank you for the meal.
