I came to this restaurant after a long time. I had the limited-time Sakura Masu salmon bowl during the 20th Donburi Service Day. It arrived in about 3 minutes after ordering. The Sakura Masu had a delicious flavor and the fat was tasty. After the first bite, I thought about coming back to order it again. However, the rice was plain and lacked flavor, even though I added soy sauce. It didn't taste very good with soy sauce. I think it would have been even more delicious if it had a sauce like the ones on tasty seafood bowls. It's a shame that the fish was delicious but the overall taste fell short. The service was good. I will come back next year.

"Donmaru" is in Kitami. I don't really want to come because Kitami doesn't have as many options as I would like. I had planned to go to Obihiro today, but I was playing with my grandchild and ran out of time, so I had no choice but to settle for Kitami. Even so, I thought I could visit about 7-8 places in Kitami. However, on Sundays, many places are not open as expected, and some places are closed, so it doesn't go smoothly. I found "Donmaru" even though it wasn't on my list. Today, my wife is working late, so she probably hasn't cooked much, so it's just right to eat out. This place used to be a different restaurant, but it has transformed into "Donmaru." Those who knew the previous restaurant may feel a bit awkward. I ordered the "Straits Don" from the outdoor menu. Depending on what you choose, it can be either really good or really bad. It's clear-cut. You can also eat inside the restaurant. It's a new format. I received a number tag and waited for about 5 minutes, and it was ready. It's really hot today, so I need to hurry home before the Straits Don gets cold. As long as there are cheap ingredients, this restaurant is fine. Never choose something with sea urchin. It's just in name only, and it tastes like bitter melon. By the way, I've never eaten bitter melon. It includes shrimp, squid, and tuna, among other things. It's cheap but the freshness is decent, and the vinegared rice is just right. You can feel the value of 500 yen in this bowl. Choosing the right ingredients is crucial.

I decided to eat in because they also offered takeout. The parking lot can fit about 4 cars. Inside, there are three tables for 6 people each, and four tables for 2 people each. There are also four benches for takeout customers to wait. With the chairs available, it seems like they can accommodate up to 5 groups waiting. The menu had so many options, I couldn't decide, so I asked the staff for a recommendation and ended up ordering a regular seafood bowl. I sat down first, but apparently you're supposed to order before sitting. Since I was eating in, I added a small side of soba for an extra 250 yen. I was called up pretty quickly to pick up my order at the counter. The wasabi was oddly hard, and even after stirring it in soy sauce for a minute, it didn't dissolve completely. The vinegared rice was clumped together, which was disappointing. The sashimi didn't seem much different from supermarket quality. The mackerel seemed a bit off. The warm soba, however, tasted just like the comforting dish I used to have when working at a kitchen. Overall, it was an okay meal.

A new branch of Donmaru has opened on the former Hemp Road site. I was lucky to find it open when I saw the sign, so I decided to stop by and buy something to take home. The interior still has tables and chairs from the Hemp era, allowing customers to dine in. There were also exclusive eat-in menu items available at this branch. With so many options to choose from, I had a hard time deciding, but eventually ordered the seafood bowl and the three-color bowl. I bought the seafood bowl as a souvenir for my parents, and had the three-color bowl for dinner. It had a generous amount of tuna, squid, and salmon. While it didn't surprise me as much as the first time I tried it, I still think it's a good deal for 540 yen. If it were 500 yen tax included, that would be even better. I look forward to trying a different bowl next time.

It seems like they've closed over there and moved over here. There is a menu outside, so we decide before going in. My husband likes the "Anago Zuké Engawa". The inside is spacious with tables and a waiting area. I ask the waitress for "Anago Zuké Engawa, please." The waitress looks for the button on the register...looks for it..."Wait a moment, please lol." Looks for it. "Found it lol. It's 500 yen." Today is a special service day, so it's 500 yen including tax. "Do you have a point card?" "I do, somewhere." Now my husband searches in his wallet...searches... "Found it lol." I give it to the waitress. "It's 540 yen, so it's fine, right?" he says.
