We are two people on our way to Kushiro. The usual phrase of "Are we going to Kushiro?" has started receiving complaints, so I decided to stop using it. It was quite sudden, right? Just three days ago, I mentioned going to Kushiro. We are going on Friday and Saturday. "I have a day off, so I'm going," said my wife. "I have to work, so I'll go after I finish," I replied. We will arrive around 7:30 pm, and drinking will start around 8 pm. I did some research, but there were zero results for the first place we are going to try. I tried calling to say we would be a little late, but no one answered. When we arrived, there was only a young person at the counter and no other customers. I wonder why they didn't answer the phone. The seating options were 3-person or 4-person tables and counter seats. It was already past 8 pm, and the young person at the counter was speaking loudly, seemingly unaffected by the situation. The beer was 650 yen per glass, and it was delicious. The TV was showing a baseball game between Chunichi and a foreign team, and Chunichi was losing by one point. The atmosphere was disappointing, but the ventilation was not bothering me. The oden looked appetizing, but I didn't want to get my hopes up, so I ate it without expecting much. It was light and had a strong dashi flavor, which could have been even better. The oden was better than expected. The dashi flavor was good, but I wished there was more. There are different types of katsuo tataki, and this one reminded me of the tare used in Obihiro for yakiniku. The dashi tamago cost 680 yen, and it didn't seem worth the price at first glance. In my opinion, it should have been around 400 yen. But pricing is up to the restaurant, not me, so it's my unnecessary meddling. The tamago was slightly sweet, and it didn't have any off-flavors. The first thing I look for when eating tamago is the dashi flavor, and I couldn't find it easily. I gave up trying to find it after a few bites. I only had five pieces, so I couldn't waste time searching for the flavor. The next step was to confirm if it tasted good. The slightly sweet tamago didn't have any flaws, and it was enjoyable. Whether it's made by my wife or some other woman, a slightly sweet tamago without any flaws is delicious. If you don't think about it as dashi tamago, it's not bad. As the late-night Kushiro drinking session started at this place, we couldn't spend too much time here, so we left. The total bill was in the 4,000 yen range. "It's not expensive," my wife said. It was within my expected range, so I couldn't help but smile at her comment. I didn't feel any sarcastic feelings, so I simply said, "Thank you for the meal." The best thing about this place was the way they poured the beer, which was a significant factor for me. So, I would give the girl behind the counter a score of a thousand points.
