After getting the first ticket at the rotating sushi restaurant Nemuro Hanamaru in the Daimyo Seimei Sapporo Building, I went to Kitakitchen in Aurora Town to pass the time. They offer about 1,500 products made in Hokkaido. People who come here are not looking for souvenirs, but rather locals looking to shop for home use. This time, I bought salmon kimchi and the popular salmon fillet. I purchased 3 packs of salmon kimchi for 1,296 yen each, and 2 types of salmon fillet as souvenirs. The salmon kimchi, made with over 40 years of kimchi-making expertise, has the perfect balance of salmon and vegetable umami with kimchi spiciness, making it delicious! It goes well with alcohol and rice. Kitakitchen is also located in New Chitose Airport, so I plan to check it out on the way back. Thank you for the meal.

The famous specialty of Bibai that is easily introduced on TV shows like the "Secret Kenmin Show" is the yakisoba from Kakuya. It's convenient to be able to buy it here in Aurora Town. The sliced pickled ginger looks delicious as well. I usually eat the cold yakisoba with one hand, but this time I decided to lightly stir-fry it since I was cooking on a hot plate. I've been eating Kakuya's yakisoba for decades, but this is my first time trying it stir-fried. I added cabbage and bean sprouts to the yakisoba, and it looks really tasty. Now, for the first time, I'm going to try the hot Kakuya yakisoba! Wow, it's delicious! The unique and vibrant flavor of Kakuya is still present even when it's hot. This is definitely a good choice, more convenient than chilled yakisoba. My daughters are also eating it up happily. Ah, it was so delicious! Thank you for the meal! Hahaha... When I was writing this, I caught a glimpse of my previous post. I guess I always end up going to Rokkatei. No progress from me six months ago to now, haha. I took a quick look around the store. They have a lot of small items that can be used for everyday use, rather than just for souvenirs with wrapping paper. I almost bought some hamburger seasoning because it's from a delicious hamburger restaurant, but haha... Maybe it's good for a gag souvenir for people who know the store. I couldn't find anything specific this time, but I bought some peppermint and haskap berry gummies, and a few other small things to put in my bag. I'll eat them later as if I suddenly remembered.

I have been using this place since it opened. My wife often buys from here. I like the yakisoba from Kakuya (170 yen) and the Marufuku donuts from Hokkari Marufuku (120 yen). These are classics for locals. I will definitely use this place again.

I bought them both as souvenirs. I like drinking cheese, so I had it for breakfast at the hotel. Perfect, let's look for souvenirs. Kitakitchen also has a shop at New Chitose Airport, so the shops in this underground street usually have the same items as the airport shop. Oh, I remember they also had one in Asahikawa. They have a variety of Hokkaido specialty products and souvenirs, so it's a good place to look for new items or things that are hard to find. This time, I was looking for corn tea and found it in the store. They had it, but I still bought two. Honestly, I was looking for a tea like Itoen's Hokkaido Corn Tea with a good aroma, but it wasn't easy to find. Just buying tea...hmm? That pile over there, haha, it seems like there are still items that tourists would enjoy, as the number of tourists has drastically decreased. I noticed the same thing at the airport shop I visited on my way back. There was a limit of three per person, but I didn't need that many, haha. The boxes are bulky, so they take up space. I bought two and took them home. Yes, it's the red silo. It's a cheesecake, normal and delicious. It has a good aroma and a reasonable size. As expected, it disappeared in no time at home. It's easy to buy, so the tourist spots are really struggling. It's a serious situation.

It has chopped Tsukuba in it, so it has a satisfying texture. However, to be honest, I felt the price was a bit high. I haven't seen this curry much in other shops that sell Hokkaido ingredients. I always buy it here. The description says "Hakodate Ground Meat Curry" is a Gotoken-style keema curry. It comes in a retort pouch without a box. It is medium-spicy, but has a good spicy flavor and a delicious texture of ground meat. It might be my favorite among domestic retort curries. When I went to the kitchen after a long time, I found Kamaboko from Kuribara Kamaboko store being sold at the store. Kuribara Kamaboko store is my favorite kamaboko that I specially go to buy. I bought Mahoroba and Souhachi-included Daichi for New Year's. This is for New Year's use. I also bought Doro pork Wiener & Coarse-ground Wiener set and White Salami. The Wiener has a refreshing fat content, while the coarse-ground Wiener has a decent amount of fat. The White Salami has white mold on it. This unique flavor is good, and the taste of the salami is also very good. Lastly, I had the Kutchan Butaman. The sweet pork filling is very delicious.

On this day, they were selling "Makubetsu cheese" and I tried the "Raclette" which was delicious, so I bought a set. I also couldn't resist buying the "Red Wiener" which looked oddly delicious. The cheese set includes Raclette, a hard cheese called "Haku," and Mozzarella string cheese. Raclette is best grilled and enjoyed with bread and wine. Haku has a rich flavor that expands in your mouth, while the string cheese is light and goes well as a wine accompaniment. The Red Wiener has a crispy texture and a strong fish flavor that I love. Even products that I wouldn't normally buy at a supermarket, I end up buying here because they feel limited and special.
