I went on a trip to Kitami. I wanted to try something typical of Kitami, but couldn't find anything, so I ended up at the reliable Victoria restaurant. This time, I tried the Devil Chili Hamburger that was on special. I had the tomato cheese hamburger, my husband had the hand-kneaded hamburger & cut steak, and my daughter had the grated hamburger and fried potatoes. The Devil Chili Hamburger wasn't extremely spicy, just a bit spicy with jalapeños. The hamburgers were juicy and delicious. The kids devoured their meals as they were quite hungry. My daughter still loves cheese. It's common to seek out familiar flavors when traveling and not being able to take risks.笑

During my usual lunchtime shopping, I suddenly felt like having corn soup, so I decided to stop by here. It was 12:40 and the place was crowded. I could find a seat but the parking lot was packed. They have a regular menu as well as daily lunch specials for each day of the week. I opted for the cheapest one on Thursdays. It seems like you have to add "soup, curry +100 yen" because the rice is served separately. You can also add a salad bar or drink bar for an additional cost. The staff mentioned that the menu has changed slightly, so I guess this is what they meant. They also requested that customers wear masks and vinyl gloves. I went to get my rice and corn soup, along with some water. Soon, my hamburger arrived. It was sizzling and came with a small fish fry. The hamburger was delicious, with a tomato sauce that had a fresh and tangy tomato flavor. The fish fry reminded me of the ones from convenience store bento boxes, but it had a slightly fishy smell. I decided to get some extra rice and pour curry over it. The curry seemed darker and more concentrated than before, with no visible chunks of ingredients. I could only see some minced meat-like bits. It felt like the soup had changed too, as I couldn't find any croutons this time. I ended up having three cups of soup. They have also introduced a loyalty card with no expiration date.

"Victoria" I went to the Aeon food court in Kitami for dinner, but the restaurant I wanted to go to was closed. I work in the evening until around 11 pm, so I can't drink alcohol. I had been holding back from drinking for 3 days since leaving the hospital, but once I started, I couldn't stop. I had decided to take a break from drinking, but it seems impossible. However, today is a chance. I arrived home around midnight, so I decided to have a drink then, as I wouldn't be able to drive the next morning if I drank before going to bed. In the end, I opened a beer as soon as I got home. I have a weak willpower when it comes to alcohol. I had various dinner options in mind, but I felt lazy and didn't want to go to a fancy cafe for dinner. I tried to eat at a local soba restaurant, but it was closed. I panicked. I needed to find something quick for dinner, and that's when I spotted Victoria. It was already 8:30 pm, and the place was not crowded. I thought they might have sakura (cherry blossom) dishes, but surprisingly, they were promoting hamburgers and chicken dishes. My enthusiasm dropped, and I ended up ordering "Clam and Bacon Pasta." The waiter even asked me if that was all I wanted to order. I confirmed, as I had no intention of ordering more. I saved some money with that choice. I thought the water would be served, but it turned out to be self-service. After waiting for about 7 minutes, the waiter asked if he could explain the water to me. I thought it was odd, but I realized it was self-service. The water was lukewarm, and I wished they had mentioned that it required ice. I poured the ice and drank it, but it made my sleeve wet. I should have put the ice in first. This experience made me realize that dining alone is not my thing. The food took about 7 minutes to arrive, and it looked different from the menu's photo. The soup was watery, and the fork kept slipping from the spoon. The pasta was thin and lacked texture, but the clams were small and fresh. The bacon was cheap, and the dish overall was mediocre. However, considering the price, it was acceptable. The dinner was surprisingly cheap, and I managed to make it to work on time. There was a cafe I wanted to visit, but the staff seemed unfriendly, and the wait time was too long. So, I decided to go to work instead.

We went to lunch with our family. Since we had steak at another restaurant recently, we compared the menu and found that the steak here was also quite expensive. Today, we decided to go with a simple homemade hamburger and salad/soup bar. The hamburger was tender and very delicious. The soup bar offered onion soup and corn soup, both of which were tasty, but the corn soup was especially delicious. The salad bar even had desserts like jelly, so we left feeling satisfied. Children would be happy too. The staff, mostly young, were friendly and helpful, but the sunlight coming through the window was too bright and the air conditioning was too strong, making the atmosphere not very comfortable. I had to lower the blinds myself due to the excessive brightness, so I felt that they could improve by paying more attention to these details.

Even if you're dining alone, the booth seating is nice. I had the cheapest lunch for 580 yen before tax, which was the "handmade hamburger" with curry and soup. The staff asked me quickly, "Would you like teriyaki or demi-glace sauce?" I couldn't catch the rest, so I just said "demi!" I didn't check the menu for the sauce. The water was served from a juice dispenser, but it was lukewarm and not tasty. Even in winter, water should be cold. I tried the hamburger without sauce at first. The flavor is strong (a bit salty?). I found it tasty even without the sauce. The meat juice was juicy. It was tastier than the one I had before. Maybe handmade makes a difference? The curry was like "school lunch curry!" Not spicy, like school lunch curry. I had three servings of corn soup.

Originally, we were planning to have soba, but my daughter wanted to go to a family restaurant. We went to "Victoria Station Kitami Miwa Store". We used to come here a lot when my eldest son was growing up. We were young back then and could eat a lot. From the daily lunch menu, I ordered the "Handmade Hamburger & Tonkatsu" for 930 yen, which came with a salad bar, soup, curry, and rice. The hamburger was delicious, and the tonkatsu was frozen. There were various options at the salad bar, but once was enough for me. The corn soup was average, and the curry lacked flavor. Overall, it's an okay family restaurant. The prices are cheap for individual items, but adding extras can make it a bit expensive.

I used it at the beginning of April. There is a dish called "Whole Baked Camembert & Cheese in Hamburger" and it packs a punch. If you like cheese, you should definitely try it. The baked Camembert has a crispy outer layer and a gooey center, making it easy to eat and delicious. It goes well with the sauce. I even felt like adding just the baked Camembert as an extra. I remember not being able to choose individual menu items during a company reorganization period, but now you can order individual items again, which is convenient.

I visited Victoria for the first time in about 20 years. I think the last time was at the Odori store in Kitami. This time, I visited the Sanrin store, which was quite spacious inside and seemed like it would be no problem to enter alone. I don't remember what I ate last time, but I think I was eating all-you-can-eat curry. This time, I ordered the cheese-in-hamburger and cut steak. Of course, no rice. When I cut into the hamburger, the cheese flowed out smoothly. The demi-glace sauce mixed with the cheese is irresistible. This must go well with rice. The steak was a bit tough. Compared to the quality of the sirloin I had yesterday, it was... The impression was more reasonable than the old image. There are drinks, salad, and a curry bar, so I thought it was convenient for families. The big steak that other customers were eating looked delicious.

The corn soup was surprisingly hot. The curry was average, not too spicy. The potatoes were still intact and had a firm texture. Shortly after, the hamburger was served. The plate was surprisingly large. The hamburger was average, not very beefy. The fried squid was a surprise. I couldn't tell if it was actual squid or something else (maybe a small cuttlefish?).
