This is the Asahikawa branch of Sukiyaki Sankosha. I felt like eating sukiyaki after a long time, so I visited for a weekend lunch. It's been about 5-6 years since I last came here. I always thought they only had private rooms, but I found out that they also have table seats on the right side as soon as you enter. However, I still prefer the private rooms, especially the ones with sunken kotatsu tables. I was guided to a private room with a sunken kotatsu, which I requested. For lunch, they offer sukiyaki set meals named "Take" (bamboo), "Tsuki" (moon), and "Hana" (flower) on the outside menu. But when I looked at the menu inside, there were six options: "Special Special," "Special," "Matsu" (pine), "Take," "Tsuki," and "Hana." I was initially thinking of choosing "Take" from the outside menu, but with the special options available, I hesitated between "Matsu" and "Take." Finally, I decided on the "Matsu Beef Sukiyaki Set" (3,630 yen). Since it was a holiday, I also ordered a "draft beer (medium)" (650 yen). When asked if I wanted rice served later, I requested it to be served later. The "Matsu Beef Sukiyaki Set" came with large slices of beautifully marbled beef loin, slightly pink. The sukiyaki is prepared by the staff. A secret miso sauce is melted in the sukiyaki pot, followed by burdock, leeks, shirataki noodles, bamboo shoots, tofu, and chrysanthemum greens, with the beef added last. The beef is initially served with two slices, and you can add more as you eat. They advised that the meat is best when the color changes slightly. The meat had a very tender and melt-in-your-mouth texture. I enjoyed dipping it in plenty of raw egg. When my beer was running out, I ordered rice and miso soup. The rice was served in a traditional wooden container with a generous portion. I like to dip my sukiyaki in a lot of egg, so I asked for an extra egg halfway through. It cost 60 yen for an extra egg, and they generously provided me with another one. Whenever I eat here, I always feel satisfied with their sukiyaki. I can't come here often, but it's nice to visit once in a while!

I went to this restaurant that I had been curious about for a while and had lunch. I splurged on the special Matsusaka beef sirloin sukiyaki set meal. I have tried several brands of beef before, but Matsusaka beef was a first for me. The meat is delicious. I'm not sure if it's because it's sukiyaki, but it's delicious. However, the miso soup has a strong dashi flavor. (Not bad, just strong)

I used it for a reception. It was a Matsusaka beef sukiyaki course. I was so engrossed in conversation that I didn't take many photos. Unfortunately, there was a phone call to the staff for some reason, which ended up being asked to the customers. It was strange to me, although it may have been my oversight. The food was average. The meat was delicious! Thank you very much!

There are surprisingly few lunch options in Asahikawa, and especially on Mondays it's hard to find a chance to visit. I decided to try Sukiya Sanshokuya, a long-established restaurant founded in 1917. After looking through the menu, I ordered the Special Matsusaka Beef Sirloin Sukiyaki Set (5,720 yen). Lunch options start from around 1,000 yen, which is convenient for those nearby. The sukiyaki is cooked by the waitress, which is reassuring. I really liked the waitress's gentle and attentive service. I believe that the quality of service provided by the waitress at a sukiyaki restaurant can greatly affect the overall dining experience, so it's important to properly compensate them for their efforts.

[Menu] Special Matsusaka beef loin sukiyaki with rice, Nameko mushroom miso soup + additional Black Wagyu beef loin (Matsusaka), Black Wagyu beef loin (Taketora) [Price] 13,500 yen [Impression] I had been curious about this sukiyaki restaurant for a while. I wanted to try different types of meat, so I decided to try all three options from the top. In conclusion, all the meats were delicious. Honestly, even the Taketora beef was satisfying in quality. As the rank goes down, the marbling ratio decreases, but on the other hand, the meatiness is enjoyable and tasty. If you're okay with the Taketora set (3,300), it's a good value. I would like to revisit for lunch next time.

On our wedding anniversary, we had a sukiyaki lunch that was delicious with the perfect balance of meat flavor and sweetness in the sauce. The chilled sake went down too easily... The lovely service from the hostess made the experience even more comfortable. It ended up being quite a luxurious lunch, but it was a satisfying meal.

If you want to eat something delicious, this is the place to go! The specially selected Matsusaka beef sukiyaki is exceptionally delicious. During lunchtime, you get rice, miso soup, and pickles included, so you'll feel like you got a great deal and leave feeling full. Today, my daughter had her first experience at Sankosha, and she was saying "wow, this is delicious" as she ate. I'm glad I brought her here (*^_^*) It was a heartwarming day for our family of three from lunchtime onwards. When we left, the staff all said thank you and saw us off politely, which was very pleasant, and I truly think it was a good decision to come here. Both the Sapporo and Asahikawa locations are equally good.

Steak set meal (lunch menu) It's been a while since I had steak. The meat here and the steak sauce are exquisite, I always end up getting a second helping of rice. The tenderness and juiciness of the meat are irresistible. This longstanding restaurant in Asahikawa is definitely the best. Sukiyaki, shabu-shabu, everything is delicious.

【Special Selection Matsusaka Beef Sirloin Sukiyaki Set】The portion is for two people. It includes meat, vegetables, rice, pickles, and miso soup. I am a big eater, so I thought about adding something extra but ended up leaving the restaurant without dessert. However, on the way back, a feeling of fullness washed over me. The first bite of the meat was absolutely delicious. I have had various meats this year, but the convincing taste of this one is different. It is hard to describe the refined and elegant flavor that spreads in the mouth. I then ate the vegetables, followed by the meat, and the rice went down smoothly... The sauce was added upon request, but for some reason, I hesitated, resulting in an extra rich taste that made me, a fan of strong flavors, very happy (laughs). I felt full or rather satisfied to the point that I didn't want to eat anything else. Coincidentally, I had a COVID-19 vaccine in the afternoon, which went smoothly without any issues. As the staff also mentioned, I would like to go back next time to try their steak. First visit, satisfied!

Around 1:00 pm, I visited the restaurant and was able to park my car nearby, so I decided to give it a try! The atmosphere exuded a sense of luxury, but the service was very calm and welcoming... Oh? Is it a private room? Is that okay? I had the desire to conquer the menu from top to bottom, but considering that I might not be able to come back often, I opted for the mid-range monthly course. The meat looked delicious, and the aroma of the miso-based sauce was irresistible. I naturally wanted to eat a lot of rice, but it came with a small portion of rice! Well, it's okay to eat a lot of white rice once in a while, right? Or is it just once in a while? (laughs) The meat was delicious as expected, although I felt that the sauce was a bit lacking. But my standard is my own home, so... The only thing that bothered me a bit was that the rice was not quite up to par. I mean, it was tasty, but there was something about it that didn't quite match the level of this restaurant. That was the only thing that slightly concerned me.

We found a place near the hotel where we could eat right away. On our first day in Hokkaido, we didn't have seafood or lamb, but instead had Japanese beef. The sauce seemed to have miso in it, giving it a rich flavor. We ordered the pine and bamboo courses, and compared the meat between the two of us. Honestly, we couldn't really tell the difference, but it was definitely delicious. We each had three pieces of meat, but we ran out of eggs, so we ordered extra. Eating too much Japanese beef can cause indigestion, so we called it a day after that.

However, it seems that he is having trouble absorbing nutrients, as he has lost a lot of weight and his muscle strength is declining. He can no longer stand up from the floor on his own. He is aware of his declining physical strength. He expressed his desire to visit Asahikawa, where I live, to have sukiyaki as a last wish. There is a saying that you should take care of your parents while you still can. So, I decided to take him while he can still walk. I informed the restaurant about my father's situation and made a reservation after consulting with them. They were very understanding and reserved a room for us where he could easily sit without having to walk much. My wife and I took him to the restaurant. My mother stayed at our home in Sapporo as she cannot travel long distances. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and accommodating, creating a pleasant atmosphere. We were seated in a sunken kotatsu room and ordered the highest-grade special sukiyaki set meal for three people, costing around 15,000 yen. Since it was a private room, we could spend quality time together in peace. We chatted about old times. My father seemed very excited about the meal. When the meat arrived, it was amazing. The quality was evident just by looking at it. The sukiyaki pot and the secret miso sauce were brought to our table. The staff arranged the ingredients neatly in the pot and cooked the first slice of meat for us. They told us to eat it once the color changed. The egg yolk looked fresh and vibrant. My father took a long time to swallow, savoring each bite. He expressed his delight, saying, "It's incredibly delicious." He managed to eat a portion of the meat, but struggled with the burdock root. It was a challenge due to the fibrous texture. However, my father is determined to try everything, which is admirable. I love thinly sliced burdock root, so I ate a lot of it. My wife was also impressed by the deliciousness, continuously saying, "Amazing" and "Delicious." My father seemed very satisfied after eating a portion of the meat. While settling the bill, I also ordered the same meal for my mother in Sapporo through cool delivery service. This is a place I would definitely choose to take important guests. In the past, I had a disappointing experience at a famous hotel restaurant in Asahikawa, where a guest wanted to drink soba soup, but was told they didn't serve it because they were not a soba restaurant. This incident made me wary of other hotel restaurants for reservations. Therefore, this restaurant is very valuable to me. My father said, "I'll do my best to come back next year for another meal."

I first visited this restaurant in the 8th year of Heisei. It was to treat my parents to a meal with my first paycheck. I remember my mother shedding tears at the deliciousness. About 26 years have passed since then... I have visited two more times after that. The food was always delicious and I was surprised every time. This time, I visited alone during lunchtime for the first time. I parked at a nearby paid parking lot. It was 10:55 am, but the curtain was already down, so I entered. After temperature check and disinfection, I was guided to a room in the back. The service was very polite and with a smile. Truly a high-class sukiyaki restaurant. The food is top-notch, but the service is disappointing. Many restaurants exist where the food is excellent but the service is lacking. I would never go back to such places, but I would repeat visits to places where the food is decent and the service is pleasant. This may vary from person to person. This restaurant excels in both meat and service, so I feel like visiting after a long time. The room is a traditional Japanese style with a sunken kotatsu. The building has been around for a long time, but it is very clean and has a sense of cleanliness. After looking at the menu, there are various options such as Special Special Beef Sukiyaki Set Meal, Special Matsutake Tsukimi, Pork Sukiyaki Set Meal, Steak Set Meal, Hamburger Set Meal, Yakiniku Set Meal, and Sashimi Set Meal. Since it had been a while since I last visited, I decided to order something high-class. But, it's from my pocket money... After much deliberation, I chose the Matsugyu Sukiyaki Set Meal for 3,630 yen. I ordered it through the internal phone in the room. Oh, I'm looking forward to it. Dining alone and enjoying high-class sukiyaki in such a spacious room... A few minutes later, it arrived. Sukiyaki. I cracked the egg and added the ingredients such as onions, leeks, white radish, and tofu. Miso soup and pickles. The rice comes in a small rice container. If you eat all the rice, it's like having 1.5 bowls of rice. The staff will put in the vegetables and meat for up to one serving. They also prepare the first bowl of rice. The staff meticulously arrange the vegetables in the pot, which makes you excited. When the meat turns brown, it's ready. Even if it's red, it seems edible. There are three slices of meat, totaling about 100 grams. Now, let's start with the meat. Hmm. Amazing. It melts in your mouth, leaving a refreshing taste. I often buy expensive sukiyaki meat from the supermarket and eat it, but even though it melts in my mouth, it leaves an oily taste. However, this meat doesn't leave any greasiness. It leaves a refreshing and delicious beef flavor in your mouth before disappearing. Is three slices of such delicious meat enough...? The onions and leeks are recommended to eat together, but the taste of the broth is so delicious that they become a side dish for rice. This burdock is easy to eat and has a moderate flavor. Second piece of meat... It's delicious as expected. I immediately put rice in my mouth, but would it be better to eat the meat alone...? I think and decide to have the last slice on its own. Yes. Whether alone or with rice, delicious food is delicious (laughs). I asked for a rice refill but couldn't finish it. The rice was also delicious. And when I ate the vegetables, tofu, etc., I realized at the age of 53 that three slices of meat were enough. I discussed making a reservation after the meal and it was over. They were also very considerate in discussing the reservation. I am grateful. I had a very luxurious meal this weekend. And for lunch today... It feels like I'm going to be punished, but I'll try to be frugal for a while from tomorrow. Thank you for the meal. I definitely want to revisit this famous restaurant. This time, I had a course meal for around 7,000 yen at a company banquet, which included all-you-can-drink. The menu consisted of seafood vinegar dish, silver cod, and root vegetable with vinegar miso dressing, as well as sukiyaki. The seafood vinegar dish had sea urchin, surf clam, seaweed, and enoki mushrooms. The silver cod had a good amount of fat. The sukiyaki was perfect, melting in the mouth. For dessert, we had melon! It was a luxurious banquet.

This is a sukiyaki restaurant in the city center of Asahikawa. It is rare to find a sukiyaki restaurant, but this place seems to have been around for a long time. I visited for lunch and was able to enjoy a luxurious sukiyaki in a completely private room without making a reservation. The slices of meat are not many, but they are thick and large. The eggs and other ingredients are delicious as well. The broth for dipping is very tasty. It was such a delicious sukiyaki that I wanted to drink up every last drop.

I arrived just after 11 am for lunch without a reservation, but luckily was guided to a private Japanese-style room on the second floor. ■ Atmosphere The interior of this long-established restaurant, founded in 1917, was lovely. The staff provided soft and courteous service. ■ Taste The beef was classified into different grades, and I ordered the Matsuki set. The Matsuki was tender with a good amount of marbling. The vegetables were also delicious. The broth (dipping sauce) was very tasty, so I also tried the udon and mochi, which were also delicious. ■ Possibility of revisiting While I rarely have the opportunity to visit Asahikawa, this is a restaurant that I would definitely like to visit again.

I knew there was a shop in Sapporo, but this was my first visit to Asahikawa. It was lunchtime and the phone in the restaurant kept ringing non-stop. I ordered the sukiyaki set this time. After a short wait, it was brought to me. The taste was delicious, but there were only 3 slices of meat. Honestly, it felt unbalanced.

During this pandemic, I've been able to get various coupons and premium vouchers, allowing me to eat things I normally wouldn't. Thanks to that, I decided to come and try the sukiyaki set meal at Sankosha. The restaurant was almost full, with others who seemed to have the same idea. The sukiyaki set meal comes in 5 stages: Special, Pine, Bamboo, Moon, and Flower. I opted for the Moon stage, being a bit frugal. The large, vibrant slices of marbled beef in the sukiyaki were delicious, and the chef cooked everything for us. The special miso sauce added a wonderful flavor to the meat. The egg yolk was a rich, deep color, promising a delicious taste. The meat was incredibly tender, with a sweet beef flavor spreading in my mouth. It was a moment of pure happiness. I found the Moon stage meat to be just right for me. Any more might have been too much for my taste buds. The vegetables included onion, shungiku (chrysanthemum greens), bamboo shoots, burdock root, tofu, and shirataki noodles, all soaking up the sweet and savory sauce beautifully.

On the second night in Asahikawa. This day was the annual dinner with the president of a business partner. As I mentioned before, I really don't like this president (especially the club activities after dinner). But I am grateful for the fact that he is a major client and always takes me to delicious restaurants. Tonight, we went to "Sankosha," a restaurant famous for its beef dishes on the outskirts of the entertainment district. I had been here before and had "shabu-shabu" at that time. We were informed that today's menu was "sukiyaki." I had eaten steak twice in Nagoya last week and had lamb yakiniku the day before, so I was honestly relieved. And apparently, today they had special meat (Matsusaka beef?). I don't usually know where the beef comes from, but the president was unusually excited. After being led to a private room and finishing the toast and appetizers, beautifully marbled beef and vegetables were brought in. The "sukiyaki" at this restaurant is said to have miso as a hidden flavor (laughs). You can see miso on the tip of the chopsticks. Also, unlike Kyoto, where you grill the meat first and then eat it with sauce, here you cook the meat together with the vegetables. Dip the meat in beaten egg before it is overcooked. A little miso creates a rich flavor and a unique taste. Whether it's the quality of the meat, the sauce, or both, it's very delicious. Now, the highlight is the "finale."
