I first visited this restaurant in the 8th year of Heisei. It was to treat my parents to a meal with my first paycheck. I remember my mother shedding tears at the deliciousness. About 26 years have passed since then... I have visited two more times after that. The food was always delicious and I was surprised every time. This time, I visited alone during lunchtime for the first time. I parked at a nearby paid parking lot. It was 10:55 am, but the curtain was already down, so I entered. After temperature check and disinfection, I was guided to a room in the back. The service was very polite and with a smile. Truly a high-class sukiyaki restaurant. The food is top-notch, but the service is disappointing. Many restaurants exist where the food is excellent but the service is lacking. I would never go back to such places, but I would repeat visits to places where the food is decent and the service is pleasant. This may vary from person to person. This restaurant excels in both meat and service, so I feel like visiting after a long time. The room is a traditional Japanese style with a sunken kotatsu. The building has been around for a long time, but it is very clean and has a sense of cleanliness. After looking at the menu, there are various options such as Special Special Beef Sukiyaki Set Meal, Special Matsutake Tsukimi, Pork Sukiyaki Set Meal, Steak Set Meal, Hamburger Set Meal, Yakiniku Set Meal, and Sashimi Set Meal. Since it had been a while since I last visited, I decided to order something high-class. But, it's from my pocket money... After much deliberation, I chose the Matsugyu Sukiyaki Set Meal for 3,630 yen. I ordered it through the internal phone in the room. Oh, I'm looking forward to it. Dining alone and enjoying high-class sukiyaki in such a spacious room... A few minutes later, it arrived. Sukiyaki. I cracked the egg and added the ingredients such as onions, leeks, white radish, and tofu. Miso soup and pickles. The rice comes in a small rice container. If you eat all the rice, it's like having 1.5 bowls of rice. The staff will put in the vegetables and meat for up to one serving. They also prepare the first bowl of rice. The staff meticulously arrange the vegetables in the pot, which makes you excited. When the meat turns brown, it's ready. Even if it's red, it seems edible. There are three slices of meat, totaling about 100 grams. Now, let's start with the meat. Hmm. Amazing. It melts in your mouth, leaving a refreshing taste. I often buy expensive sukiyaki meat from the supermarket and eat it, but even though it melts in my mouth, it leaves an oily taste. However, this meat doesn't leave any greasiness. It leaves a refreshing and delicious beef flavor in your mouth before disappearing. Is three slices of such delicious meat enough...? The onions and leeks are recommended to eat together, but the taste of the broth is so delicious that they become a side dish for rice. This burdock is easy to eat and has a moderate flavor. Second piece of meat... It's delicious as expected. I immediately put rice in my mouth, but would it be better to eat the meat alone...? I think and decide to have the last slice on its own. Yes. Whether alone or with rice, delicious food is delicious (laughs). I asked for a rice refill but couldn't finish it. The rice was also delicious. And when I ate the vegetables, tofu, etc., I realized at the age of 53 that three slices of meat were enough. I discussed making a reservation after the meal and it was over. They were also very considerate in discussing the reservation. I am grateful. I had a very luxurious meal this weekend. And for lunch today... It feels like I'm going to be punished, but I'll try to be frugal for a while from tomorrow. Thank you for the meal. I definitely want to revisit this famous restaurant. I hope this high-class restaurant in Asahikawa will continue to thrive as a representative of high-class cuisine.
