Tonight, I had dinner at "Fermented Dining Ponpoko Tei" in Susukino, Sapporo. The owner is a fermentation sommelier, offering dishes like hot pot, Korean cuisine, and Hokkaido specialties that seem good for health and beauty. The restaurant has a lovely private room with white curtains, creating a cozy atmosphere to enjoy the meal. I tried the Snow Bronch JW Japan White Ale craft beer, which was light and easy to drink. The Motsu Cheese Chige Nabe "Kopuchan Chongol" won the Grand Prize at the Gurunavi 2022 Heisei Revival Nabe Contest. It was delicious with lots of vegetables, motsu, cheese, and a rich tomato-based soup. I also enjoyed the Chamisul plum on the rocks, which paired well with the hot pot. The Yan Nyom Chicken had a delicious sweet and savory flavor that was hard to resist. The Scallop Salt Koji Oil Grilled was also amazing, with a sweet and savory taste and a crispy breadcrumb topping. I tried the Honcho fruit sake made from fermented vinegar, which was refreshing and recommended for beauty benefits. Overall, it was a wonderful experience in Sapporo, Hokkaido, with excellent service.

The shop, famous for its audio advertisements on Tanuki Koji Street, used to have a more casual hot pot restaurant atmosphere, but it has since changed to a more female-friendly setting. Although it may have been a few years since the change. The interior of the shop, although the building is old, has a white-based decor that resembles something you might find in Shin-Okubo. During lunchtime, they offer a variety of menu options. I chose the Chicken Nanban set. The Chicken Nanban has a gentle and delicious seasoning. It's not too strong, just the right flavor for me. The batter is easy to come off, but the meat is pleasantly tender. The rice is also delicious, not sure if it's the quality of the rice or the way it's cooked. The miso soup is tasty, but served at a slightly lower temperature. For a quick lunch, it might be a good option for those who struggle to find a place to eat around this area.

I went to Ponpoko Tei for lunch during a day trip. The restaurant is called Fermentation Dining, which left a strong impression on me. The interior was brighter and more spacious than I had expected. I ordered the recommended set meal, which was a tomato soup flavor. When I tried it, I thought it was delicious - it felt like a tomato version of soup curry. The vegetables in the soup weren't chunky, but the flavor was appetizing. The Zangi that came with the set was juicy. The lunch felt like a good deal. Next time, I want to try the curry flavor. I finally made it to the most recent reviews haha. I love this restaurant so I want to write all the reviews, but I ended up accumulating them for a while. It's been 4 months since I last went... I should go soon. However, I always end up ordering the plate (I like being able to try a little bit of everything), so maybe next time I'll try the hot pot or go at night since I always go for lunch. I hope to write the review sooner next time haha. Sorry for writing so many in a row. Thank you for the meal! I'll be going for the 7th time!

"It seems good for the body" just imagining it makes the food taste even better when you're not feeling well. It seems like it would be nutritious too, which is great. Since they promote "fermentation," the other menu items also seem good for the body. The quiet atmosphere makes it easy to enjoy a hot pot alone without feeling self-conscious. The prices are reasonable, so it's a place where you wouldn't be embarrassed to bring a female friend. It seems gentle on both the body and the wallet, so definitely worth a visit.

This shop is located in Chuo Ward, Sapporo City. It is located in the Tanuki Koji Shopping Arcade. I remember there used to be a chanko restaurant here, and I entered it before. After finishing work, I took a stroll down Tanuki Koji... I remember there used to be a chanko restaurant around here, and the ramen there was really delicious. Suddenly, I saw a giant tanuki statue, this must be the place! However, I noticed that the atmosphere has changed a lot, but I decided to go in. Just like before, the shop is located underground. I was even more surprised when I entered the shop! It was divided by pure white curtains... for a moment, I thought it was a traditional Japanese inn (^_^;) I ordered the Deluxe Chicken Laugh Set. It came with fried chicken, both breast and thigh, and chicken nanban. The fried chicken was from Kyushu's specialty fried chicken shop called Torawa. Both the breast and thigh were tender and delicious. The miso soup had koji in it. This restaurant focuses on fermented foods, so they are particular about using fermented ingredients.

First of all, I was surprised by how heavy the entrance door was. The interior of the shop was cute with a white-based theme. It was my first time there, so I was confused by the detailed menu at first... but in the end, I chose the monthly fermented food lunch plate. I felt like I wanted another dish, but it was delicious!

I was drawn in by the sign that said "Monthly Fermented Plate Lunch" and decided to visit. The staircase to get down to the restaurant has quite a few steps. The restaurant is spacious and has partitions, which is nice. The air quality is a bit of a concern though. I ordered the fermented lunch plate with dessert and a choice of drink. Each dish had a unique and interesting taste, fitting for fermented cuisine. It might be a bit challenging since it's an underground restaurant, but if they could improve ventilation a bit more, I would consider coming back. Thank you for the meal. (*´ω`)

On the second day in Hokkaido, we made a reservation through the Tabelog website and were seated right away at 7:00 pm as scheduled. After diving in Shakotan, we ordered the Ishikari hot pot-style Chanko-nabe to warm up our chilled bodies. It was filled with salmon and plenty of vegetables, so we were completely satisfied. The restaurant was crowded with many foreign visitors who had just come from the snow festival, and there was a lot of chatter in various languages. It was a bit noisy, but it couldn't be helped. The dishes we had were Ishikari hot pot-style Chanko-nabe, salt koji Zangi, and ramen for finishing, along with Sapporo Classic beer in the middle size.

This day, the main dish was salt-miso grilled pork? It was delicious as always, healthy. In the past, there were mostly female customers, but this day there were also some male customers. Maybe it was because it had been featured on TV before. It was my fifth visit, and once again, it was delicious.

This is a review of using the Landpass app at Poroco (*'ω'*)* I tried the Herbal Soy Milk Udon (usually 700 yen). The herbal soup is great for warming your body from the inside, even in the summer. But be careful, as the herbal flavor can be quite strong and overwhelming (lol). The udon noodles were smooth and chewy. Overall, the quality of the food was average. However, the restaurant has been renovated and the interior is now very clean and beautiful. With good value for money and a spacious, clean environment, it's a convenient place to relax in the city center. (*'ω'*)

Yes, Kenneth's shop Hot Time has become a "karaage" shop, so I always try to combine tasting with meals. I visited because I was always curious about the sign outside. "Ponpoko Tei Eat Soup x Fermented Foods ([Former Shop Name] Chicken Smile & Sumo Tea House Ponpoko Tei Tanuki Kojirō Laugh Shop)" as of June 23, 2022, has a rating of 3.1. You go down the stairs and there is a tanuki statue halfway down, which is fun. The interior of the shop is completely white, which was a bit surprising. I visited around 13:30 and the seats were mostly filled with female customers. Kenneth thinks that if it's popular with women, it must be a good shop. I ordered the Deluxe Chicken Smile set meal and the Addictive! Soup (curry flavor) with a side of small rice. It's a mild soup curry. Thank you for the meal! I will definitely visit Ponpoko Tei Eat Soup x Fermented Foods again!

I went to a place where you can enjoy hot pot and fermented dishes. It's nice that they have a monthly plate option. I chose the soup and rice set. It was reasonably priced at 1000 yen. The miso-flavored minestrone soup, a small salad, and stir-fried chicken cartilage with gochujang were delicious. The rice portion was small, so it felt a bit lacking, but it's perfect for a light meal. I would like to visit again.

The restaurant is located a few minutes' walk from Susukino Station, and a tanuki greeted me! I had the Ishikari hot pot style chanko nabe for 1980 yen per person. With the additional rice we ordered, the total came to about 2200 yen per person. The photo shows a pot for 2 people, as my friend and I ordered the same dish! The vegetables like carrots and potatoes were very large and delicious. The most delicious part was the salmon! The fatty salmon was juicy and melted on the tongue, spreading its flavor throughout the body. Despite being a fatty fish, it was not oily at all, just full of umami. Even though I usually dislike oily dishes, I couldn't stop eating it. The balance of ingredients inside was also exquisite. Not only the food was amazing, but the interior was also very well thought out, with a white-themed decor. Definitely worth a visit, especially for a date! Thank you for the meal!

Ponpoko Tei, located at 3-chome Tanukikoji, used to be called Tori Warai & Sumo Chaya Ponpoko Tei. It seems like their menu has changed starting from March. The menu is displayed near the entrance facing Tanukikoji. It includes soups and medicinal cuisine. Going down the stairs to the basement, the door is quite heavy, possibly due to the ventilation system. Inside the restaurant, there are white walls with partitions made of white curtains creating a natural and simple atmosphere with wooden tables. Despite visiting on a weekday around 1 pm, there were many young men and office workers, not just women. The menu features dishes made with fermented seasonings, healthy soups, oatmeal, and more. You can also try the award-winning Zangi from their affiliated restaurant Tori Warai. The menu selection may be a bit challenging as there are various options, but the focus is on healthy eating. I tried the monthly fermented cuisine lunch plate for 850 yen, which included pork chop with sake lees and soy sauce koji, minced clam croquettes with black vinegar aurora sauce, marinated turnip with salt koji and anchovies, pickled zha cai, and a vegetable soup with carrots, pumpkin, and cabbage. The soup was clear and soothing, with a hint of ginger. The meal also included rice, salad, and a choice of yogurt or amazake made from fermented ingredients. For dessert, I had a two-item plate with a miso-like pudding and pound cake with the flavor of amazake. The restaurant is completely smoke-free, making it a comfortable place to dine.

Oh... I feel like this place was a different shop when I visited before. I was drawn in and went downstairs. The atmosphere, menu, and even the name of the shop had all changed. The target audience is clearly women. In one corner of the shop, they were regularly doing fortune-telling, creating a chaotic yet intriguing vibe... I don't dislike it, haha. The menu is quite varied, but it seems that "fermentation" is their specialty. On this day, I chose the soup set, and the curry-flavored soup was incredibly delicious! It wasn't soup curry, but curry soup. It had a rich and mild flavor that I really enjoyed. The side dishes were healthy, with meat and salad, but the fermented dressing on the salad was amazingly tasty! I want to have a bottle of it at home. Overall, the meal was delicious. I definitely want to go back. However, the only disappointment was that the menu was very confusing. It had a lot of text, and the set menus were hard to understand. It's such a shame. If the menu was a bit clearer and easier to read, I think more customers would come in. (The same menu was also posted outside the shop)

Lunchtime on a Monday holiday during the Olympics. It seems like two people are doing fortune-telling, with voices heard in the background. The restaurant is quiet, with a few solo diners and occasional people passing by for payment. Due to the state of emergency, I opted for a non-alcoholic beer, Sapporo Premium Alcohol-Free, priced at 380 yen. I prefer non-alcoholic drinks over soft drinks. I ordered the "Fermented Food" lunch plate for 850 yen, which included octopus carpaccio, chicken leg with salt koji ponzu, asparagus and eringi sautéed in anchovy oil, mini fermented food (pickled vegetables and miso soup with vegetables). The asparagus was a bit too tough, but the rest of the dishes were delicious and full of ingredients. The vegetable soup, which is said to have 100 times more anti-cancer effects than raw vegetables, was also included. It is said to improve conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, cataracts, spots, and allergies. I guess I should start drinking vegetable soup every day if I want to get rid of my spots. After spending 45 minutes in the restaurant, I paid 1130 yen and headed to a lecture by Tamaki Myoju, a nurse and Buddhist priest, at the HBC Hokkaido Cultural Institute. The lecture was about "How to Ease Your Mind" and it made me think about how to welcome the end of life in a more positive way. I became a fan after the lecture.
