On a certain holiday, I found a souvenir shop while strolling by on the east side of Sapporo Station 1st floor north exit. It's not a place I usually pass by, and the shop isn't very large, but it offers various souvenirs from different brands, as well as some drinks, making it convenient for those leaving Sapporo to pick up a little something. On this day, I decided to try something I probably hadn't eaten before from the display shelf. "Tokachi Popcorn (240 yen)" caught my eye at the entrance, so I bought it. Following the instructions to microwave it at 600w for 2 and a half minutes, the popcorn popped and tasted delicious when freshly made. However, the flavor was nothing special, just average. Oh, there's still a lot of unpopped kernels at the bottom! So, I wrapped the bag with a rubber band and microwaved it again, resulting in half-popped corn, which didn't look quite right, so I recommend microwaving it longer than instructed. "Smoked Potatoes (216 yen)" seemed unfamiliar, so I purchased it. As soon as I opened the bag, the smoky aroma surprised me, and the flavor exploded with smokiness when I took a bite. The oil content was not strong, the saltiness was moderate, and the quantity was small, making it a good snack. "Salmon Skin Chips (238 yen)" also seemed new to me, so I bought them. They were indeed made from salmon skin, crispy and with a fried fish skin flavor and a hint of light saltiness, which I liked. The information mentioned zero sugar, high protein, and collagen, making it a guilt-free snack. "Premium Popcorn with Caramel Coating (430 yen)" caught my attention next to 'Hanabatake Bokujo' caramel, so I chose it. The caramel coating was sweet as expected, and while I'm not sure about the benefits of Hanabatake Bokujo, it was a non-fried snack, reducing some guilt but making it easy to overeat. It was nice to explore new souvenirs while living in Hokkaido. Thank you for the meal.
