I tried Hokkaido sushi for the first time and ordered the chef's choice. The herring sushi was delicious, even though it was my first time trying it. The scallops were freshly shucked, the house-made shad roe was flavorful, and the monkfish liver was amazing. The sushi sake specifically paired with the sushi was also a first for me, and it complemented the ingredients perfectly. I definitely want to go back again.

A cozy and welcoming sushi restaurant in Susukino run by a family. The son trained in a Ginza sushi restaurant and returned to Susukino to make sushi, while the mother provides friendly service. Despite being located in a bustling area, the atmosphere is very homey. We enjoyed dishes such as sake, kuro label otokoyama, hair crab appetizer, flounder marinated in kombu, grilled salmon skin, miso-marinated anglerfish, pickled herring, sea urchin, abalone, mackerel, and pickled ginger. The fresh herring and seasonal sea urchin were exceptional. Despite indulging in high-quality ingredients, the bill was reasonable at under 15,000 yen per person. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Heaven's Door, a full-fledged grip, is a sushi restaurant just a little outside Susukino for 8200 yen. It seems to be run by the master couple and their son. The place is small with only a counter, but has a friendly atmosphere that makes it easy to enter. When I asked for cold sake, I got Heaven's Door, which had a refreshing taste and was easy to drink. The appetizer was crab legs with miso on top, rich and goes well with sake! The dishes included: marinated mackerel with a subtle sweetness and good texture, fatty tuna that melts in your mouth, sweet squid with a good bite, Pacific saury with not much fat this year, a last-minute treat of fatty tuna that I always want to savor, fresh scallops with a sweet and firm texture, sweet shrimp with a rich sweetness and miso, sea urchin (both purple and red) - when asked if I wanted both, I immediately said yes. They also let me compare the two. Fresh salmon roe, and a seasonal treat of marinated surf clam. The surf clam had a lot of fat, but was still refreshing. The surf clam had a crunchy texture and the sweet toppings were delicious too. The master was considerate and talked about various things, making the experience enjoyable. I want to go back again!

I was recommended a restaurant for a delicious meal during my business trip. It was close to the hotel, so I went there feeling exhausted from work. I entered nervously, but the chef kindly greeted me. I left it mostly up to him to choose the dishes, and everything was delicious. I was especially surprised by the size of the salmon roe. It was the real deal. I wondered what I had been eating before. The cod milt had no unpleasant smell and was delicious. The medium fatty tuna was so tender that I mistook it for fatty tuna. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again on my next business trip. The atmosphere of the family-run restaurant was great, and the chef talked about his passion with a happy face, making me feel happy too. I was tired from work, but I felt warm and relaxed.

I enjoyed a delicious meal in a private room at the back of the restaurant. It was a course meal with seasonal dishes that were all so tasty. I thought I couldn't finish the sushi, but it was so good that I ended up eating it all. Next time, I want to try sitting at the counter!

Once a month, I treat myself to a special meal at this restaurant. I always start with the crab miso salad, followed by the chef's selection of sashimi. The drinks are so good that I end up eating more than usual - I usually only have 4-5 pieces of sushi, but the satisfaction I feel here is unmatched. Personally, I absolutely love the pickled ginger they serve here. 😊

When I visit Hokkaido, I always make sure to stop by this sushi restaurant. Up until 3-4 years ago, it was run by the father and mother, but now their son, who trained at Sushizen, is also working there. The fresh and delicious sushi, unique to Hokkaido, is a must-try. I have already made a reservation for next month with 6 people, and I am looking forward to going after a long time.

There is a heart that wants customers to enjoy, be kind, not get bored, and above all, eat deliciously seriously. It is clearly evident. With limited seats, if you do a careful job, I think it is a well-thought-out restaurant.

At a certain restaurant, the husband mentioned he would just pop in to say hello, so we visited after dinner. Originally run by the father, it is now managed by the son who trained at "Sushi Zen". The son used to serve us at "Sushi Zen" and it was nice to see him looking well. We had beer and tea. My husband, who was still hungry after the first place, had one serving, while I had just two pieces. We had flounder marinated in kelp, fatty tuna, shishamo and saury, squid, sweet shrimp, clam, scallop, botan shrimp roe, salmon roe, and sea urchin. I tried shishamo sushi for the first time and it was delicious with a sweet taste. The botan shrimp roe is a Hokkaido specialty. It's a cozy restaurant where you can enjoy Hokkaido specialties. We only had a little this time as it was after dinner, but I would like to visit again when I have the chance. Unfortunately, the photos didn't turn out well that day, sorry about that.

Counter seating for only 9 people in a simple and clean interior, you can truly feel that you are in a sushi specialty restaurant at Sushidokoro Miyata. Located in the Susukino area, it is convenient to have a parking lot. The high-quality green tea with a lingering sweetness is impressive. The deliciousness of the pickled ginger is also noteworthy. Although the portion was quite small, the pickled ginger was so delicious that you would want to eat more. Among the sushi I had for lunch, it was very delicious, and sushi restaurants with delicious pickled ginger like this one are extremely rare. However, in terms of cost performance, it was a bit expensive during lunchtime. But each dish, service, and everything is well done and at a high level. The high-quality taste of the ingredients left a lasting impression on me. The set was only available as omakase for 3,240 yen. I'm not sure if this was the fixed price for lunch, but the quality of the sea urchin and medium fatty tuna at this restaurant is high. I was asked about the size of the sushi rice at the beginning, and I requested the standard size of the restaurant. They kindly made the sushi rice slightly larger, but it was still smaller than the standard size. I am curious to know if this was the size that Sushidokoro Miyata usually serves...The flounder, medium fatty tuna, spear squid, horse mackerel, sweet shrimp, scallop, hairy crab, salmon roe, sea urchin, and scallop were all served. The flounder was aged with kelp and citrus flavor, and it seemed to have passed its peak of aging. The spear squid had cuts in it and was soft and delicious to eat. The horse mackerel was served in a simmered cut with condiments, and it could be eaten as it is. The flavor of the blue fish, the right amount of fat, and the firmness of the meat were felt, and the sweetness and umami were clearly felt. The sweet shrimp was from the Sea of Japan, and it was the best sweet shrimp I have had recently with its sticky sweetness and firm texture. The scallop was freshly taken out, and it was alive! The texture of the live scallop was irresistible♪ The sweetness and high-quality taste of the scallop were felt. The hairy crab had a little miso and soy sauce on it, and it had a strong umami and richness unique to hairy crabs. The creamy flavor of the hairy crab miso melted into the texture of the hairy crab's meat. The salmon roe had a good mouthfeel and a smooth and mellow taste without feeling the skin, it was a good quality salmon roe. I think it was from Hamanaka, Hokkaido. It had a refreshing sweetness and a light richness, and it was a top-notch taste for this time of year, which I enjoyed thoroughly and also enjoyed the aftertaste. It was priced like a lunch sushi in Otaru, but in Sapporo, it became a lunch sushi from a high-end sushi restaurant with a sense of being expensive. Overall 3.7, Taste 3.8, Service 3.6, Atmosphere 3.8, Cost performance 2.8, Drink 3.5. Address: 1-11 Minami 7-jo Nishi 5-chome, Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido. ☆☆☆Preview☆☆☆With that delicious pickled ginger, it seems like it would be enjoyable to have drinks. Will I come for dinner next time?

I visited this restaurant during my recent trip back home in March 2016. As usual, when I ordered a beer, they brought out a small appetizer first. This time it was hairy crab miso and firefly squid with vinegar miso. The hairy crab was fresh and the miso on the peeled meat had no fishy smell, making it delicious. The firefly squid was just in season and freshly caught from Toyama. The vinegar miso complemented the squid perfectly. It made me crave some sake. Next up was sashimi. I immediately asked for a local sake called Maruta. The sake served in a cup-like vessel paired perfectly with the sashimi. The sashimi included chutoro, akami, hamachi, spear squid, shirako, black rockfish with salt, scallop, live scallop, mackerel, sweet shrimp, all of which were fresh and allowed me to taste the sweetness of the fish. The highlight was the shirako made from fresh herring, completely different from what you would have during New Year's. Finally, I had some sushi. I started with the chef's choice and then ordered some of my favorites like sea urchin and salmon roe. They were still exceptional. I will definitely be back. I visited this restaurant in November 2015. I only go here when I visit my hometown as it is quite far, but it's a delicious restaurant that I have been going to for years. It is located in Susukino's bustling district, with excellent transportation access. It is situated at the corner of Minami 7 Jo Nishi 5 Chome, making it easy to find. The restaurant is in the middle of three small shops, with a parking lot in front, making it accessible by car, although it's a place where you can enjoy public transportation and alcohol. The interior has a small white wooden L-shaped counter that can seat around 10 people, and there is a tatami room at the back for 6-8 people. The overall atmosphere is bright, clean, and welcoming, managed by the friendly master, his wife, and their son who recently returned from training. The master explains the fresh Hokkaido ingredients displayed in a glass case on the counter. There is no specific menu; you can choose to start with sashimi or go straight to sushi. I usually opt for the chef's choice with some small dishes and sake before moving on to sushi. It's usually around 8000 yen. The meal typically starts with octopus simmered in salt, followed by sashimi and sushi. Highly recommended are the sea urchin, salmon roe, live scallop, and sake ranging from Kubota to local Hokkaido sake. It's a great place for tourists to learn about Hokkaido's fish from the master. I hope it doesn't get too crowded.
