I visited "Hokuren Shop FoodFarm Tonden 8-Jo Store" on September 22nd. It's a shop I used to visit regularly to buy ingredients for dinner. The last time I visited was on June 18th, 2017, so it's been a while (laughs). Nowadays, I mostly use the Hokuren Shop FoodFarm 49-Jo Store, but when I want to buy a variety of barbecue and seafood items, I often use Hokuren. I stopped by on my way home from Costco. They have a wide selection of barbecue items, and I feel like the flavor of the meat improves by about 20-30% when grilled over charcoal. I had a delicious barbecue the next day. This year, the salmon were mentioned in the news as possibly not being able to return due to global warming, but it seems they are still being caught. In mid-September, I found some small live salmon eggs and bought them. However, I made a big mistake in preparing them as soy sauce marinated salmon roe, as they turned out to be too small and had a strong smell. After waiting for two weeks, I noticed they had grown a bit bigger. This time, I successfully made salmon roe rice in a clay pot, which was delicious.
