I was in Hakodate for work this time, and the hotels in the city were too expensive, so I stayed at a hotel in front of the racecourse. For dinner, I was drinking at Hakodate Arena, but my companion was full and wanted to leave, so I ended up having ramen alone at "Ramen Why Not Noodle" restaurant. This restaurant opened towards the end of my time living in Hakodate, so I was curious about it but never got the chance to go until now. The sign outside the restaurant prominently says "Spicy Miso", so I wonder if their miso dishes are recommended here. Since I was having ramen as my last meal, I decided to go for white miso instead of spicy. While waiting, I noticed they had a set for "Senbero" (a set for drinking on a budget) - I should have just stayed here instead of walking all the way to the Arena for drinks. The ramen was ready in about 5 minutes. The soup had a strong miso flavor, with a hint of garlic. The noodles were thick like Sapporo style, and quite firm. I passed on the fatty chashu. Overall, I think it was tasty but not exactly to my taste. Maybe next time I'll try the Senbero set if I remember it.

I had lunch at a noodle shop. It's located near the horse racing track, along the train street. The shop seems to have a modern atmosphere with black as the main color. The menu includes miso, salt, soy sauce, and pork kimchi noodles. I ordered the salt ramen, which had a rich and salty soup with a hint of pepper. The noodles were medium thickness and curly, and the toppings included bamboo shoots, green onions, and chashu pork. It might be a good option for replenishing salt in the summer, but opinions may vary. Thank you for the meal.

The recommended salt ramen by the female owner had a soup and noodle temperature that even middle-aged men would enjoy. There were also tour groups from Taiwan who had visited the day before, and the ramen shop next to the racecourse seemed to be conscious of welcoming inbound tourists. Not only the menu, but the owner and female owner also provided a warm hospitality that would contribute to promoting tourism in Hakodate.

I used it for lunch. There are three parking spaces, but they are quite small. I ordered the miso yakimoyashi ramen. The bowl is large even for the regular size, and the soup is plentiful. The saltiness and artificial umami are quite strong, so I could only drink a little of the soup. Other than that, it was okay... Thank you for the meal.

On this day, I wandered around in my car and ended up at the same restaurant alone haha. I was in the mood for miso ramen since the morning, so I ordered the red miso ramen. I remember how delicious the sesame miso ramen was when I visited before, so my expectations were high. And since I was quite hungry, I also ordered half fried rice. The dishes arrived in about 5-6 minutes. First, I tried the soup... The red miso flavor was strong and the soup was rich with a slightly sharp edge! It's delicious! It stands out from the usual mellow style that is common in Hakodate, and that's great! Personally, I think having a distinctive feature like the sesame miso would make it easier to evaluate. The noodles were firm with a good chew, and they paired well with the soup! Now, let's talk about the half fried rice... or so I thought haha. This is supposed to be half fried rice... but it looks like a regular fried rice haha. Isn't this too cheap? Of course, it's delicious haha. What a great cost performance! So, next time, I'll go for the sesame miso and half fried rice for sure!

My family has a Ramen Day once a month, and we visited this place with four family members. We actually wanted to go to Maido in Yunokawa, but there was a long line outside, so we gave up... This place used to be called Men-san 2000, and the ramen there was quite delicious as well. On this day, although it was a weekday, there was only one customer during lunchtime. Maybe it's due to the influence of the new virus. I ordered the spicy miso ramen, asking for it to be as spicy as possible. The others ordered soy sauce, red miso, and white miso ramen. The spicy miso ramen was tastier than expected. The medium-thick noodles from Sagamiya were slightly on the softer side, but had a satisfying chewiness. The spiciness was on the sweeter side even when made spicy. The soup had a delicious taste with a base of miso sweetness. My wife was impressed, especially by the perfectly cooked bean sprouts. The crunchy texture and the sweetness of the bean sprouts made us keep eating. My wife was probably going to complain a lot if we had to wait in line at Yunokawa and the ramen wasn't that good, but luckily, we didn't have to go through that here.

On September 2nd, I finally returned home after helping out in Esashi for a while. I was too tired to make lunch, so my aunt recommended a nearby ramen shop. Since it's still hot in September, I decided to go for the "Pork Kimchi Cheese Noodles" to cool off. My aunt chose the "Cheese Tantan Noodles" because we both like spicy food. While chatting with my aunt, our noodles arrived. The noodles were easy to slurp and had a good texture. The soup was slightly salty with a hint of spiciness and a strong sour taste, probably from the kimchi. It was quite hot that day, so the saltiness was actually refreshing. The cheese added a creamy touch, and the garlic and pork in the soup gave me a boost of energy. Overall, it was a delicious bowl of ramen. I'll definitely visit Nandeyamen again.

I had lunch near my workplace, so I decided to try the red miso ramen and the intriguing soup cha-han. The soup cha-han turned out to be a local specialty here, with a soy sauce-based soup, light fried rice, and fluffy egg on top. It looked like okayu, but personally, I thought it was good! As for the red miso ramen, I was surprised by how strong the flavor was!! It seemed like they had put too much miso in it! It was so overpowering that I had to ask for extra soup. The owners, an elderly man and woman, seemed nice, so I might go back again. Next time, I'll order the red miso ramen again and check if it was a miso quantity mistake. I'll visit again soon!

Visited a little while back to check out this place. I had just returned from a trip to Esashi that day and was busy unpacking when evening came. Feeling too lazy to cook, I decided to go to this nearby restaurant. I had been to their previous location in Yunokawa before, where I remembered their spicy miso ramen being really flavorful with a good amount of garlic. However, when I visited their new location with my aunt, the spiciness remained but the garlic was toned down a bit, resulting in a satisfying ramen with a robust soup base. This time, feeling more like having a rice dish than ramen, I noticed "Soup Cha-han" written on the wall to the left. This seemed interesting, so I ordered that. The restaurant was quite busy on a Sunday evening, so there was a bit of a wait. When my "Soup Cha-han" arrived, it came with two types of spoons – a regular one for eating the soup and rice together, and a stainless steel perforated one for eating just the rice and toppings. The different textures were enjoyable. The seasoning was a bit on the salty side, but considering it was a Sunday with the Hakodate Racecourse open, where people would be outdoors sweating, it made sense. The balance of rice, ingredients, and seasoning in the Cha-han was good, and the finished dish was nicely separated and tasty. The soup had a rich flavor as expected from a ramen shop. Overall, the "Soup Cha-han" was delicious. I might have a hard time deciding between ramen and Soup Cha-han next time. Maybe I'll go for a half-size of each? I'll definitely be back again!

The location can be found on the map. It is a former ramen shop called Menya 2000. There is a small parking area next to the shop, with space for 4 compact cars parked tightly in a row (on weekdays, additional parking is available in the adjacent area). Access by car is not ideal. The ramen is similar to when they were in Yunokawa before, with basic flavors of salt, soy sauce, and miso (red and white) along with 7 other varieties. The salt ramen (¥700) comes with toppings of chashu, menma, and green onions. The chashu is generous in portion and lightly seasoned, which I personally prefer. The noodles are a loose, golden color with a smooth texture and a moderate amount. The slightly cloudy soup has just the right amount of saltiness and no unwanted flavors. It has a rich and robust taste, and doesn't leave you feeling thirsty afterwards. The gyoza (¥400) is small in size with 5 pieces, lacking in seasoning but mild in garlic flavor. The only downside compared to their previous location is the parking situation. Overall, a satisfying experience.

In Hakodate, adding cheese to pork kimchi, which is loved by those who enjoy spicy miso, is nice!

It was my first visit to Nandeya Men in Komaba-cho. I had takeout fried rice and dumplings, which were very reasonably priced. I especially liked the texture and aroma of the cheese-filled dumplings. As a ramen shop, I imagine it must be complicated to focus on providing items other than ramen for takeout. I look forward to going back to enjoy their ramen when things settle down.
