After attending a party, I wandered through Odori Park as light snow fluttered down, and ended up in Susukino. I was unsure if that familiar shop was still there, but my hunch was right - it had been replaced by an oden restaurant. After strolling around Susukino for a while, feeling the cold freezing my body, I eventually returned to the hotel (ANA). There, while enjoying the night view, I visited this bar. The name is straightforward, maybe too straightforward for a more romantic touch, but being an old hotel, it must hold a special place in the hearts of regular customers. They had a limited edition winter cocktail collection, and I tried the Amethyst. February's birthstone is Amethyst, a stone known for its mystical and elegant color, often associated with nobility. I was curious to see how it would shine amidst the snowy landscape. The cocktail used osmanthus liqueur to create a purple hue, with a slightly sweet taste and a strong alcohol content, making it a sophisticated drink for adults. The potent alcohol warmed my chilled body in the midst of the powdery snow, making me feel rejuvenated. Looking out the window, I saw the snow-covered scenery of Sapporo, with snow still falling heavily. The mellow voice of a woman singing jazz while playing the piano filled the bar, occasionally interrupted by the lively chatter of groups. Lost in the moment, I finished the Amethyst. When asked what I wanted next, I requested a Pink Martini. This cocktail is not commonly found, but whether in a bar in NY's Temple Bar or at the Highlander in Hotel Okura, I always ask for it. It's essentially a Martini base, but the fun lies in how each bartender creates the pink color. The name is derived from a CD track at the Hotel Costes in Paris. The young female bartender, despite her petite frame, confidently shook the shaker and handed me the Pink Martini with a smile. The rich alcohol intertwined with the vibrant pink hue, confronting the chill with a sense of upliftment. Being in Sapporo, I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation for the arrival of spring.
