I visited "Hotto Motto Kita 42-jo Store" on September 14th. I often use it when I don't feel like thinking about dinner. This time, I tried the moon-viewing menu (?), which includes Moon-viewing Grilled Chicken Meatballs for 590 yen and Teritama Hamburger Bento for 600 yen. There are 3 challenge items for the Moon-viewing Fair from September 2nd, but I couldn't finish all of them, so I saved one for breakfast the next day (laughs). The bento box has the name "Hotto Mu Co., Ltd." On the whole, Hotto Motto stores are mostly franchise stores since many directly operated stores have closed. At one point, I thought about getting a job at a related store to obtain a cooking license, but it seemed unlikely that I could work there for two years, so I gave up on the plan (laughs). Well, you can open a restaurant without a cooking license. Moon-viewing Grilled Chicken Meatballs are a classic menu item offered for a limited time each year around this time. I think it was 540 yen last year? The price goes up a little each year. The meatballs, made with fragrant chicken meat and cartilage, are a staple. This year, the amount of green onions seems a bit low. I added a hot spring egg as a topping before eating. The chicken meat is quite excellent, with a charcoal-grilled flavor. I wonder how they reproduce it at the restaurant. I don't think they use charcoal at the store... It was surprisingly delicious. There is a liquid (sauce) that can reproduce the flavor of smoked xxx, so maybe there is also a sauce to reproduce the charcoal-grilled flavor. Thank you for the meal. Oh, the Teritama Hamburger Bento I had the next day was average... neither good nor bad...

In September 2021, I always say "Hotto Motto's Noriben!" when visiting, but what I'm really drawn to is the "limited-time" Seafood Tendon. For some reason, I can't resist the "limited-time" items at Hotto Motto. While Myレビ, who lives in Miyagi Prefecture, is attempting to conquer all of Hotto Motto's menu, I stick to specific items occasionally (laughs). In February 2020. In November 2020. "Seafood Tendon" for 560 yen. The content was different from what I had in November, where it had green peppers, but now it has snap peas. The dish includes 2 shrimp, baby scallops, white fish, large squid, and snap peas. At this price, it's quite satisfying, but the "Seafood Tendon" I had in February 2020 had even more ingredients, like 3 shrimp. Still, considering the gradual increase in prices, keeping the price the same is commendable. The satisfaction of eating it is sufficient, and the change in batter adds a crisp texture. As it is a take-out tendon, the assumption is that it is a "moist tendon." I hope Hotto Motto's "Seafood Tendon" becomes a regular menu item.

This year's Gapao Rice is a new version of Gapao with beef! Unfortunately, it's not minced meat and the portion of lemon has been reduced. The seasoning is Gapao style, but the meat type and texture are different, making it a completely different dish. It also no longer comes with the salad and my favorite lemon and nam pla dressing. It's not bad tasting, but it's not what I was looking for. I was eagerly waiting for Gapao season, but now I feel disappointed.

Limited time offer: Eggplant miso bento box. This year, the addition of bell peppers adds a colorful touch. The miso flavor seemed different than expected, which was a bit disappointing.

It's the season for Gapao Rice! I'm glad it's back again this year. Last year, it was all about cilantro, but this year, no cilantro. The dressing is lemon and nam pla, which is exquisite and delicious! My favorite!! Squeeze some lemon on the minced meat for a refreshing taste. This year's Gapao has larger minced meat pieces, but the deliciousness remains the same. Thank you for the meal. Satisfied.

I wonder if this is a new release? The ginger pork bento is great because you can adjust the amount of ginger to your liking. The ginger is not fully cooked so it has a nice spicy flavor. However, the dish is a bit too salty. The portion of rice is small and not enough for the amount of meat. I recommend getting a regular size rice portion!

Airport Street, heading from Aso towards the airport, there is a shop on the left hand side. I knew there was a bento shop here, but I usually just passed by without paying much attention. However, on this day, I happened to stop at the traffic light right in front of this shop... and I noticed the words "Fighters Bento"! As a Fighters fan, I couldn't just ignore it... so I quickly pulled into the parking lot! Hmm, it comes with a key holder as a bonus... oh, there's also ham cutlet inside to support the Fighters... I like this kind of stuff... I ended up buying it (laughs). The bento included grilled meat, fried chicken, ham cutlet, minced cutlet, boiled egg, pickles, and potato salad, surprisingly rich in variety! But wait, boiled egg... it only comes with sauce, so do you eat it with the sauce? It was an interesting combination of dishes. By the way, the key holder is of "Ohno player". It comes out randomly, so completing the collection seems difficult (laughs).

I visited the "Hotto Motto Kita 42-jo Store" on July 24th. I use this place quite often (lol). They offer both takeout and delivery menus, but if you use a delivery service, there is a system usage fee which increases the price by 20-30%. I sometimes opt for delivery, but mostly I make reservations for takeout. They are a reliable ally for catering at various events. I remember when they made 200 rice balls for a hanami party (lol). For dinner today, I chose the family menu. Recently, family menus seem to be increasing. By the way, the Napolitan from Hotto Motto reminds me of the old school lunch and I quite like it. I used to order the Napolitan in the BIG Noriben set for 580 yen, but now they offer it as a standalone family menu for 590 yen. It's probably equivalent to two servings. It's a 300g pasta Napolitan. This time, I tried the family menu for the first time and finished it all in one go, even though I have a health check-up scheduled for the next day (lol). I'll try out new and seasonal menus when they come out. This time, I also ordered the Chicken Basket (10 pieces) for 590 yen, which was decent. Thank you for the meal.

On a certain weekday, during a surprisingly busy lunchtime, I visited a restaurant called "Hotto Motto" located in Higashi-ku, Kita 42-jo Higashi 5-chome. The restaurant had a spacious parking lot, making it convenient to park your car and eat right there. The interior of the restaurant was also spacious, with nothing particularly special, but they had pre-made bento boxes on display in a warming machine. On this day, I decided to try their new item, the "Vegetable Bibimbap with Onsen Tamago (570 yen)" as I was short on time. Taking a bite, I found it to be just right. I mixed the bibimbap with the sauce and onsen tamago using an environmentally friendly wooden spoon provided, and the flavor was surprisingly authentic with a subtle spiciness from the local miso in the sauce. The onsen tamago added a mild touch to the seasoning. The ingredients included pickled daikon, stir-fried greens, bean sprout namul, kimchi, and sweet and spicy beef stir-fry. It was a chance encounter to find this dish in the warming machine, but it turned out to be satisfying in terms of taste and price compared to eating at a less impressive restaurant. I will definitely consider using this place again in emergencies. Thank you for the meal.
