Everything I ate was delicious♪ I drank too much sake. The fresh squid was small, but they served two portions which ended up being just the right size. I ended up ordering it twice. The recommended fried squid legs were also delicious, I would like to try them grilled next time. Also, being in Hokkaido, the corn tempura was incredibly tasty. When I was full but still wanted a snack to go with my drink, I asked and they kindly brought me some dried salmon, thank you. When I visit Hakodate again, I will definitely come back to this restaurant.

In Hakodate, I finally tried the squid dishes I had been wanting to eat. Starting with sashimi, then grilled squid, and even the fried squid legs. I also enjoyed dishes like buttered potatoes and asparagus, all with a Hokkaido touch. It was a perfect way to end my last night in Hokkaido. The rice balls wrapped in rock seaweed were also delicious.

It's a very ordinary izakaya. The squid sashimi is small but has a strong sweetness and is very delicious. The spring Pacific saury has small bones but decent fat content. While not as good as autumn Pacific saury, the flavor is still sufficient. The marinated tuna seems to be red meat, served in a small bowl like miso soup. The soy sauce marination is very ordinary. It's said to be a specialty, but in terms of quantity and taste, the cost performance is poor. The dishes come out quickly and the taste and ingredients are good, but the cost performance is extremely poor. It's a common thing in Hakodate overall, but it's just normal for things to cost twice as much as in Sapporo's market.

I was on a solo business trip to Hakodate 15 years ago, and this downtown area used to be bustling with people wandering around half the week. When guests from the mainland visited, I often entertained them at this restaurant, which is still popular to this day. I decided to visit after a long time. The exterior of the restaurant has been beautifully renovated. Inside, there is a counter on the left, a raised seating area on the right, and even second-floor seating. The interior has also been beautifully refurbished, with a bustling mix of local and tourist customers. I quickly ordered and started eating. I had the "Sapporo Perfect Classic Medium Beer (600 yen, tax included)" and macaroni salad as the appetizer. The beer was more like a glass size than a medium jug, and I wondered why macaroni salad was served. Moving on, I couldn't have the "live squid" that was becoming scarce during my time in Hakodate, so I ordered the "Fresh Spear Squid Sashimi (1,480 yen, tax included)" listed on the daily specials. It arrived at the table, looking fresh and delicious. I also tried the "Ikameshi (580 yen, tax included)" and "Squid Ring Fry (580 yen, tax included)" which were both flavorful and well-prepared. Lastly, I ordered the "Grilled Herring (480 yen, tax included)" which was a bit disappointing as it lacked the usual richness and was on the dry side. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Hokkaido trip!! On the last night in Hakodate, we went to Ikasei for dinner! We reserved a 10,000 yen all-you-can-drink plan for our group. The portion size of the food was amazing!! We got really drunk but the food was delicious and we were satisfied ⭐ The only downside was that they were out of fresh squid that day due to poor fishing. I will definitely visit again! Visited Hakodate Ikasei for the second time this year. Stopped by for some delicious food before climbing Mount Hakodate. Ordered fresh squid, kimmi (seafood dish), seafood gratin, meat sushi, eel sushi, chicken wings, belly meat, high-quality meat, fried squid legs, and appetizers. Arrived at Hakodate Airport on October 4th, 2022, temperature was 15°C, so cold! Checked into the hotel, changed from a summer jacket to a winter jacket, and headed to Ikasei in Honcho 2-chome for fresh squid dishes. Today's recommended dish was squid sashimi. Started with Sapporo Classic beer, delicious! The appetizers included eggplant miso, buttered potato, and squid salted roe. The main dish was the Chairman's special squid sashimi. I've been to Hakodate many times before, but I've never really faced squid like this, so tonight, I'll face it properly. Enjoyed some hot sake, it was clear and had a moderate elasticity with an explosion of sweetness. It was delicious! Also tried the fried natto, which was good too. I paid extra for fried squid legs tempura, which was worth it. Had another round of hot sake. That's enough for tonight. I thought about having salt ramen to finish, but I couldn't fit it in. Paid the bill and it was a satisfying meal.

I really wanted to try the squid sashimi, which is in season now and made with fresh, sweet, and delicious squid. The texture was not chewy and it was light. Later, they also cooked the tentacles for us, which were also delicious. The asparagus was fresh and tasty, cooked in butter. There are many delicious dishes made with squid on the menu, all of which were great. The rock seaweed rice balls are popular, so I ordered them with minced fish. The taste was normal, but the seaweed was a bit messy to eat. The minced fish was tasty.

I went to the shop in front of the station last time, but this time I went to the main store. It was also crowded here. Making a reservation was the right choice. This time, I ordered squid again. The spear squid from last time was shocking, so the whole squid was okay...but still, the other dishes were too delicious.

I came to Hakodate. It's been a while. When in Hakodate, the first thing to have is squid. Without paying attention to anything else, I decided to go to the restaurant recommended by a friend. During this season, the squid is fresh and small. Just the right size for one person. The transparent flesh is incredibly sweet. It has a chewy yet clingy texture, it's wonderful. The tentacles are also sweet and delicious. They fried them for me, and it was surprisingly tasty. It must be because it's so fresh. I'm glad I could have Hakodate's squid again. I also tried some other dishes like sea cucumber vinegar, grilled asparagus, and corn tempura. The seasonal dishes were amazing. By the way, even though Hokkaido is under a state of emergency, for some reason, in Hakodate, they are allowed to serve alcohol until 7 pm. It must be a unique measure due to the vastness of Hokkaido. I appreciate it.

This time, our trip to Hokkaido was disrupted by a typhoon, so we couldn't go to Ishigaki Island and had to change our destination at the last minute. We made all the reservations last minute (*_*) I found this restaurant in a hurry on the day through Tabelog. When you think of Hakodate, fresh squid comes to mind, right? This place offers live squid sashimi! We arrived at the reserved time and found a spacious interior with a counter, private rooms, and tables at the back. First, cheers! We ordered: - Live squid sashimi - Tomato salad - Hair crab cream croquette - Grilled squid with salt - Pickled cucumber - Fried squid - Potato chips - Crystal sushi - Beef tendon simmered in salt - Seaweed rice ball. The squid sashimi was lively when we squeezed lemon over it! We even got to eat the squid's tentacles as sashimi, which was fresh and delicious. The hair crab cream croquette was so delicious that I wanted to order more (*^^*) Thank you for the feast!

After leaving Umenosushi, we headed to the second restaurant. Since squid was their specialty, we naturally tried the squid, although unfortunately I lost the photo of it. The season for spear squid was coming to an end, so it was perfect timing. Of course, it was delicious, but I was even more intrigued by the crab that the person next to me was eating. It was a Watarigani kejan, and it was even better than the squid! Unlike the empty Watarigani from Kanto, this one was rich in miso and meat. The meat was packed even in the legs. It paired perfectly with the soy sauce dip, enhancing the flavor of the crab and making the sake go down smoothly. It was dangerously good. I couldn't stop eating it. In addition to the Watarigani, they also had kejan made with hairy crab, so if I have the chance next time, I would like to try that as well.

Highly recommended if you want to eat fresh squid! This restaurant is also great for other dishes, and the atmosphere is nice and not too crowded. I especially recommend the rice ball with seaweed. Since it's a popular place, it's a good idea to check in advance if they have fresh squid available!

I used it when I was on a business trip to Hakodate. I used it mainly for the squid. Although the arrival time at the store was around 7:00 PM, there was no wait and we were seated right away. According to the staff, it seems that the impact of Sapporo's exclusion from the Go To Travel campaign is significant. We ordered live squid, cod milt, cod hot pot, crab tempura, uni sushi, etc., according to our desires. The squid was so lively and had a good texture, making it very delicious. The best part was probably the cod milt. It was delicious with ponzu sauce or in the hot pot. I regret not being able to order the tempura due to my stomach condition. The third stop on the first day of my trip to Hakodate was this restaurant. Unfortunately, they didn't have dried squid like the first place, but they did have spear squid. I wanted to try dried squid, but oh well. I ordered spear squid, saltwater sea urchin, and fresh oysters. I also got a Junmai Daiginjo from Niizawa, which is my favorite Hokkaido sake. Even though I was hoping for dried squid, the spear squid was delicious. It had a good texture and plenty of sweetness. The saltwater sea urchin came with salt water which made it a bit salty, but it complemented the sweetness of the sea urchin. The oysters were not creamy but more on the salty side. It's rare to find creamy oysters in Hokkaido, but these were still tasty. I enjoyed the taste of the sea. By the time I finished at this third restaurant, I was quite full, so I left after about an hour. I hope to come back when they have dried squid available next time.

The crab salad had a lot of crab! The live squid was undeniably delicious! The jumbo shrimp in the grilled prawns were surprisingly big! The tuna at the tuna festival was also delicious! I ate in a hurry and came back, but it was a satisfying and delicious restaurant! I will definitely go back!

If you come to Hakodate, you must try the squid sashimi! I came here seeking it, but lately squid has been scarce so it's a bit pricey. However, the squid here is incredibly fresh! The squid was firm and shiny. It came with squid guts, which when mixed with soy sauce, tasted rich and delicious with no bitterness or fishy taste. You can also have the tentacles as sashimi or fried. The fried tentacles were amazing! Lightly battered with lemon salt. I want more! But the most impressive dish was the "ikura onigiri" (salmon roe rice ball). It was incredible! The soy sauce and seaweed aroma was wonderful! The perfect saltiness of the ikura melted into the rice, creating a creamy texture. So delicious! The restaurant has a calm and sophisticated atmosphere, with an elegant second-floor counter seating area decorated with owl ornaments. However, the onigiri was so good that I couldn't resist ordering a tarako (cod roe) flavor at the end. The seaweed really makes it special. Seriously, I highly recommend the onigiri here!

I ordered a sake tasting set. Instead of a course meal, I chose individual dishes. Unfortunately, drink-all-you-can options are only available with a course meal. The individual menu allowed me to eat what I wanted, and everything was delicious. I wish there were drink-all-you-can options for individual items as well.
