On a certain holiday, while heading to lunch, I happened to come across a sandwich shop located on Odori West 24th Street where I had visited before. The sign read "Sandwich," and it seemed to be a Sunday-only American sandwich shop. The interior of the shop was the same as before, with a counter and table seats suitable for both daytime and nighttime. Gentle American music was playing in the background. From the menu, I learned that there are several types of sandwiches available for takeout, but only two options for dining in. This time, I decided to try the "Southern-style American Sandwich" set with an omelette sandwich (1500 yen) that was featured in a magazine. After a short wait, it was ready. Wow, it's thick and voluminous. Let's take a bite... Oh, it's substantial. The average thickness toast sandwich contained a generous amount of scrambled eggs made with Ota Farm eggs, along with a noticeable presence of cheese, ham, mashed potatoes, and a light yet American-flavored sauce similar to aioli that tied it all together nicely. Next to it, there was a large mug filled with a red, thick Gumbo soup with lots of vegetables, oats, and shredded chicken in a tomato base that was slightly spicy. There was also an original potato salad in a small dish. I finished off with a hand-drip coffee included in the set, which had a strong and proper bitterness. It made for a satisfying meal. I hope that with the ongoing pandemic situation improving, this shop will continue to thrive. Thank you for the meal.
