On holidays, when I return likes or catch up on household chores that have piled up over the weekend, lunch inevitably gets delayed. To avoid it affecting dinner time, I decided to have a light meal and visited Sansara, which relocated on December 4th. The restaurant is located along the North 1 Line, with space for 2 cars in front of the store, 2 cars in front of the old location, and 2 more cars in other available spots. Upon entering, I noticed that the atmosphere inside is the same as before, without any discomfort. After sanitizing my hands, we took a seat at an available table. I ordered the Sri Lankan curry with all toppings for 1400 yen, and my companion ordered the special selection plate with 3 varieties for 1300 yen, along with extra large rice for 100 yen. There were no customers waiting outside, and the dishes arrived in about 15 minutes. The owner, who runs the place alone, served us. According to the owner's blog, the Sri Lankan curry is recommended this time. It is a dish that combines the home-cooked recipes learned by the owner during a homestay in Sri Lanka. The plate includes three types of curry (chicken, vegetables, beans), as well as various Sri Lankan side dishes like eggplant moju and ambultiyal (herring curry). The owner advised us to mix it well while eating, and it was indeed very delicious. The radish curry was a new experience for me and had a gentle flavor. The chicken and vegetable curry, on its own, did not have an overpowering taste of spices and was easy to eat. For those looking for more spiciness, there is chili pepper on the table to add. When mixed as instructed, the side dishes added a punchy flavor (including saltiness), balancing the taste of the curry nicely. The heat level was increased by the lunu miris. And most importantly, the acidity of the lemon rice tied everything together, making it very tasty. The mustard seeds added a nice touch visually as well. I couldn't help but search for the recipe afterwards. I would rate the lemon rice a 4.2 out of 5. Although I didn't taste my companion's three varieties, judging by their willingness to order Christmas hors d'oeuvres from the menu, I assume they enjoyed their meal as well. This Christmas, we will be enjoying the flavors of Sansara. I had a curry that doesn't make me feel bloated even if eaten every day. Thank you for the delicious meal. *Note: They no longer operate on weekends, and the points card system has been discontinued (holders can exchange it for a drink coupon).
