Oh~♡ Everything looks so delicious❣ I stopped by to buy some bread after drinking a shake earlier, but... I was planning to buy only these:
- Artisan European-style curry bread: $2.53
- Salt bread: $1.63
That was the plan, but then... (・・;
- Moist churros (chocolate): $1.93
- Bear-shaped pastry: $2.10
- Milk French pastry: $2.33
- Piccolo Dolce jelly (4 types) x4: $1.20 each
There are more unplanned items than planned ones! Haha. I'll bring the jelly as a souvenir to work and finish the bread❣ (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧ Even though it's before bed, my stomach is full! Haha. It was delicious❣ Thank you for the meal! That's all for now! (^^)/

I had lunch in the area near Miyanosawa Station and ended up stopping by for a snack because I felt a little hungry. I was thinking of getting an anpan, but... surprise! One anpan costs a whopping ¥219 including tax! It seemed expensive to me. Normally, I would buy two, but this time I decided to just get one anpan and a bag of sugar rusk for ¥140 including tax. When I got home, I tried the sugar rusk with my coffee during my break. The anpan wasn't bad, but I couldn't help but wonder if it was worth over ¥200. It had plenty of red bean paste, but it wasn't particularly big. On the other hand, the sugar rusk may have its own value. It had a moderate level of sweetness and paired well with coffee.

This time, I bought some plain bread and caramel-flavored cornet donuts to take home. By targeting the Nico Nico Time where you can get 20% off from 7 pm and half price from 8 pm, you can get bread at a pretty good deal. The taste is decent for the price. The specialty would be the milk bread. You can enjoy different flavors depending on the season, and I often end up buying them when I stop by. Unfortunately, they were not available when I visited this time...disappointing.

There is a bakery in the Seiyu Nishimachi store. It says Azabu-Juban, but it seems to be in various places. Maybe it's common in Seiyu stores. Sapporo seems to have all Seiyu stores. I bought natchur and karinto donuts. Natchur is sliced one by one like jabara and toasted. It's hard on the outside and moist on the inside, but when toasted, it becomes crispy. The karinto donut looks like a big karinto. The outside is karinto, but the inside is a donut, which is easy to understand.

This is West-machi West Friend in the West District. After taking a break with a cup of coffee, I got hungry! I am seriously working on losing weight, so I'm only having one snack bread! My determination is strong. I wonder if my will is as hard as a rock? Haha. If I'm going to eat, might as well make it lunch as well. Soft-boiled egg and beef stew for 216 yen. There were many other tempting options, but I resisted. I had it at the food court. It's freshly baked, so it's even more delicious. The combination of soft-boiled egg and beef stew is outstanding! Eggs really go well with anything. The beef stew has a good amount of beef in it, so it's quite satisfying. I haven't eaten much of the deli items at Monta Bo before, but they are quite tasty. Next time, I want to try the cute rabbit dish! Haha. Thank you for the meal.

Mont-Thabor is located inside the Seiyu Nishimachi store, making it convenient to use in conjunction with the supermarket and other shops. I took a peek at Mont-Thabor's website. They express their desire to continue being a bakery that loves bread. Each store follows the "all-scratch" method, and they emphasize their commitment to using high-quality salt and flour. From their website: "Salt: We use 'mineral-rich salt' made from the famous clean seawater of the Goto Islands in Nagasaki. It contains the right amount of 'bittern' from the blessings of the sea, and is loved by many chefs for its smooth and deep flavor. Flour: Mont-Thabor carefully selects several types of high-quality wheat, from domestic to French, for our bread. We also make sure not to let the natural aroma of wheat escape, and strive to create bread that brings out the essence of the flour." This time, instead of buying my usual Safju, I purchased French bread and California raisin bread as my staple food. The Petit French bread is chewy and elastic, with a simple and delicious taste. It has a nice wheat flavor. The California raisin bread has a croissant-like texture, so when toasted, it becomes crispy on the outside while remaining moist inside. The raisins have a soft texture, a gentle sweetness, and pair well with the bread. I had bought this raisin bread before, and unintentionally ended up buying it again this time. It is very useful as a staple bread. Overall rating: 3.3 Taste: 3.3 Service: 3.4 Atmosphere: 3.3 Cost performance: 3.5 Drinks: - Address: 6-1-1 Minami 6 Nishi, Nishimachi, Nishi-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido Mont-Thabor Sapporo Nishimachi store ☆☆☆ Next Episode Preview ☆☆☆ I will buy bread again at one of the seven Mont-Thabor stores in Sapporo city.

I was planning to buy a few types of bread for my main meal and then also get a scone, but I ended up being satisfied with the bread samples. I'll save the scone for next time. The California raisin bread croissant dough has a crispy texture when toasted, with a moist interior. The texture, sweetness, and acidity of the raisins are delicious. I do crave raisin bread occasionally. It's a versatile option as a main bread. Overall rating 3.3, taste 3.3, service 3.4, atmosphere 3.3, cost performance 3.5, drinks not rated. Location: 1F Mont-Thabor Sapporo Nishimachi Store, 6-1-1 Minami 6-1-1, Nishi-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido. ☆☆☆ Next episode preview ☆☆☆ It's fun to think about which bread to buy next time!

This is a bakery located inside the Seiyu Nishimachi store in April 2016. The store is quite large, with a grocery section on the lower level and the bakery near the entrance. The variety of bread seems limited, with a focus on their Sanju and corn and edamame bread. The Sanju looks like a salted bread with a crispy and fluffy texture. The inside is soft and airy, while the surface seems quite oily, with a good accent of coarse salt. The corn and edamame bread has a chewy texture with plenty of corn and edamame mixed in, topped with a savory cheese flavor. Thank you for the meal! ✿ฺ(๑´ڡ`๑)✿ฺ.

I came to Mont-Thabor Sapporo Nishimachi store, an area I haven't been to before, to replenish my bread supply one night. I don't usually buy anpan, but I saw that they were promoting a special one called "Gin Tokachi Anpan Safju 20th Anniversary Masterpiece," made with new red beans. The texture, gloss, and color of the filling looked delicious, so I couldn't resist buying it. After trying it, I found it really tasty and thought it's nice to buy it once in a while. It had a moderate and elegant sweetness, and when toasted, the bread had a crispy texture. By the way, the anko inside the anpan is made with chunky red bean paste. Safju has a hollow inside to create a fluffy texture, and the surface has a nice crispy texture, thanks to the Swiss fermented butter-infused margarine kneaded into the bread, which seeps out and creates a fried texture on the bottom. ☆☆☆ Next Episode Preview ☆☆☆ Next time, I plan to buy Melonpan. It's surprising to learn that the creator of Anpanman, Takashi Yanase, ate melonpan for two years straight and created Melonpanna. That's what motivated me to buy it. I don't want to live without knowing why I was born and what I eat to live!

▼Items Tried▼
▽Karinto Donuts (Small) 345 yen
A thick donut with a Karinto-like flavor, around 10cm in length. While it doesn't have the crispy texture of Karinto, it is fried well and has a soft, slightly sweet interior. Heating it in a toaster enhances the flavor and makes it even more delicious.
▼Impressions▼
A popular nationwide chain bakery originating from Azabu-Juban, Tokyo. They have 8 in-store locations in Hokkaido, primarily in Seiyu supermarkets. Their Hokkaido Milk Bread and Karinto Donuts are popular choices. I tried the Karinto Donuts after a long time, and the convenient size made it easy to keep eating one after another. Toasting it in the toaster was a great idea. I look forward to trying their Hokkaido Milk Bread next time.

I came to have lunch nearby in May 2013. Right after that, I stopped by Seiyu. I noticed Montabo there. The store has been there for over 10 years, apparently. I might not have realized it before. Montabo is often used at the Seiyu Asahigaoka store in Chuo Ward. My usual companion was buying flowers, so I stopped by alone first. I had already decided on which bread to buy after looking around. This store is located in the Nishi-machi area of Nishi Ward, Sapporo, on the first floor of Seiyu Nishimachi store. For the exact location of the store, please check on Tabelog. The store was having a fair featuring bread made with California raisins. There were cute breads at Montabo, but this time there was a "turtle" bread. I chose that first. The "moist raisin bread" targeted for the California Raisin Fair was selling well in the half size. When I asked, they immediately cut it for me. I bought a few items. After finishing at the register, the Wednesday limited edition "Grape Tree♪" had just finished baking. I bought that and went back to the register again. ■ Turtle Bread The body is melon bread. The face and limbs are regular bread. The shell is drawn with chocolate. 160 yen Quite a cute bread. ■ Moist Raisin Bread Danish-style bread with California raisins. Half size for 263 yen The combination of Danish and raisins is a classic. ■ Grape Tree♪ A small grape bread shaped like a bunch of grapes. 136 yen each A very fun bread to eat. ■ Hokuhoku Potato Garlic Butter Flavor Bread Whole wheat flour bread. Made with potatoes from Hokkaido. Uses olives, wieners, cheese, etc. Plenty of potatoes on top. 220 yen Tastes like pizza. A hearty bread. ■ We ♡ Crunchy Plain One-bite size Danish with sugar sprinkled on top. 45 yen each Affordable and easy to eat. Montabo has energetic staff everywhere. The atmosphere is very good. The staff here are very friendly and make it easy to buy bread. I would like to stop by again when I'm nearby. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Compared to other Mont-Thabor shops, this one seems smaller with fewer items on offer. Overall, the bread at Mont-Thabor doesn't seem very flavorful, and the value for money is not great. They have a 100 yen sale on Thursdays where some items are sold at a discount, which seems to attract more customers. Like many other shops, they seem to heavily promote Hokkaido milk bread, which is soft and moist but not necessarily worth wanting to eat repeatedly given the price.
