In March 2023, during my first visit to "Hotto Motto," I have always been a fan of their "Nori Bento." However, the "Seasonal Limited" "Seafood Tendon" has caught my attention as well. Even though it is categorized as a "Tendon" in the "Hoka Bento," I, a fan of tempura rice bowls, find this bento quite satisfying. I first tried the "Seafood Shrimp Tendon" for 560 yen at the "Hotto Motto Fukuko Store" in February 2020. It contained 3 shrimp, white fish, squid, lotus root, and snap peas. In November 2020, the "Hotto Motto Shinro 4th Street Store" offered the autumn limited "Seafood Tendon" for 560 yen, including 2 shrimp, white fish, squid, lotus root, scallops, and green peppers. In September 2021, the "Hotto Motto North 42nd Street Store" brought back the autumn "Seafood Tendon" with 2 shrimp, white fish, squid, lotus root, scallops, and snap peas. After a while without visiting "Hotto Motto," I had it for lunch at home on a holiday. The "Seafood Tendon" was priced at 590 yen, a 30 yen increase from before, but still reasonable. It included 2 shrimp, squid, larger scallops, snap peas, and lotus root. This time, instead of "white fish," it proudly featured "Spanish mackerel." The sauce remained the same as before. The only downside was that the rice was a bit soft, but overall, for the price and content, it was satisfying as a takeaway tempura rice bowl. Although it remains a limited menu item, I wonder if they will offer the "Seafood Tendon" again in the autumn. Until then, I might stick with the "Nori Bento."

Another classic bento option is the noriben. I've always turned to this when money was tight (which is almost always) and it has saved me on numerous occasions. So, every once in a while, I get a craving for it. Very rarely... but that rare day has come. I placed an order at this restaurant, of course, for the noriben. I was tempted by the chicken wings, but I felt like adding something extra to the noriben would be wrong. I wanted to enjoy the noriben in all its sinful glory. The description of the noriben is probably unnecessary at this point. It's just normal, delicious, and nostalgic. I always struggle when trying to decide on a different menu item, but end up ordering the noriben anyway. This time, I bought it, ate it eagerly, and only realized after finishing it that I forgot to take a picture... So, I just took a picture of the empty container. Sorry!

Sometimes I crave nori bento, and as a Hokkaido resident, I can't leave out yakisoba bento. Today, I have work at home so I think I'll stop by Hotto Motto. As usual, there's a long line of customers. There are various types of bentos, but I decided to go with the classic and simple nori bento! The Kinme rice was delicious and the side dishes were well balanced. There may be some variation between stores, but that's part of the charm. I enjoyed the meal at this Kitamitsu store. I'm curious about the Gapao rice and eel bento, so I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the Hotto Motto Kitamitsu store in October 2013. It is located along the Miyanomori Kita 24-jo Street in Higashi Ward, Sapporo. I stopped by because I wanted to buy a bento box. The purpose of my visit was to try the "Gapao Rice" based on a recommendation I read online. I ordered the Gapao Rice and miso soup. The Gapao Rice was flavorful with a hint of spiciness, topped with a half-cooked egg and lemon. The salad was served separately, with a variety of vegetables and Caesar dressing. I also tried the special pork miso soup, which was surprisingly delicious for its price. Overall, I enjoyed the authentic Thai flavors of the Gapao Rice and look forward to trying more Thai dishes at Hotto Motto in the future.

I wonder how many days it will take to finish eating at "Hotto Motto Kitamitsu Store" in Sapporo. I am alone now, with only one hour left for this food log activity of the trip. I was with my grandson because it was his birthday. The expenses were high, but I can only afford to buy things while I am earning. My husband's father is wealthy, so it's hard to keep up with that. I found a small Hotto Motto nearby and went in. I bought various items, but I was too lazy to think, so I just ordered the "seafood tempura bowl" for 590 yen. The price is reasonable. This store is small, and I had to wait for 10 minutes because there were three groups of customers before me. During that time, my second daughter, who I had just parted with, seemed to have seen me and sent a LINE message saying, "You're at Hotto Motto, aren't you?" Embarrassing. Is this store embarrassing to be seen in? What's with combining tempura bowl and mapo tofu? It's a bento, after all. The bento arrived, and the rice was normal, no complaints. I usually have complaints about rice, but this was fine. The sauce was lightly flavored, which was good. The lotus root was delicious. What's this? Fish? I don't need that. I would be happy if it were kiss fish, but it's chewy. Green beans are good. They hold up well in takeout. The squid is tender and tasty. In the past, I wouldn't have given it a second look. Shrimp, even if it's old shrimp, it's still shrimp. It's crunchy and delicious. Overall, it was a delicious tempura bowl.

I visited "Hotto Motto Kitamitsu store" on November 7th. I had previously visited on October 3rd. I visited at 7:30 PM for dinner today. Despite being small, there are quite a few parking spaces available. I remember that it used to be a gas station over 20 years ago, so there are still remnants of the gas station's fireproof wall design. Now, what should I order? I decided on the Big Chicken Cutlet Bento for 550 yen, which is a limited-time menu item since August. The main dish is the chicken cutlet with sauce and sprinkled with white sesame seeds. The sauce is quite rich and sweet. It also comes with pickled ginger on the side. The cutlet from Hotto Motto has a crispy texture and the meat and breading stick together well. The chicken breast meat is soft and delicious. This chicken cutlet does not have the chicken skin, which is a bit disappointing as the fat from the skin adds flavor. The shredded cabbage that comes with the meal is not my favorite, but it wasn't bitter this time. The pickled ginger served in a separate section is beautifully arranged. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.
