In March 2023, during my first visit to "Hotto Motto," I have always been a fan of their "Nori Bento." However, the "Seasonal Limited" "Seafood Tendon" has caught my attention as well. Even though it is categorized as a "Tendon" in the "Hoka Bento," I, a fan of tempura rice bowls, find this bento quite satisfying. I first tried the "Seafood Shrimp Tendon" for 560 yen at the "Hotto Motto Fukuko Store" in February 2020. It contained 3 shrimp, white fish, squid, lotus root, and snap peas. In November 2020, the "Hotto Motto Shinro 4th Street Store" offered the autumn limited "Seafood Tendon" for 560 yen, including 2 shrimp, white fish, squid, lotus root, scallops, and green peppers. In September 2021, the "Hotto Motto North 42nd Street Store" brought back the autumn "Seafood Tendon" with 2 shrimp, white fish, squid, lotus root, scallops, and snap peas. After a while without visiting "Hotto Motto," I had it for lunch at home on a holiday. The "Seafood Tendon" was priced at 590 yen, a 30 yen increase from before, but still reasonable. It included 2 shrimp, squid, larger scallops, snap peas, and lotus root. This time, instead of "white fish," it proudly featured "Spanish mackerel." The sauce remained the same as before. The only downside was that the rice was a bit soft, but overall, for the price and content, it was satisfying as a takeaway tempura rice bowl. Although it remains a limited menu item, I wonder if they will offer the "Seafood Tendon" again in the autumn. Until then, I might stick with the "Nori Bento."
