For lunch today, I decided to grab a quick bite at "Kura Sushi Sapporo Kikusui Motomachi Store." They offer a wide variety of dishes at reasonable prices, so I always try to choose items I haven't tried before. This time, I had 14 plates of sushi. If you have children, you may find yourself visiting this restaurant often due to their "Bikkura Pon!" surprise menu.

I love it! If there is a Kura Sushi nearby, I will definitely go there. But since there is only a Sushiro and Uobei near my house, I end up going to Uobei more often. The sushi at Uobei is a bit small, but it can't be helped...haha. Please try it out!

Kura Sushi near Sapporo Interchange offers a great deal with their eel rice bowl (served with sansho pepper) for only 690 yen including tax! And it's delicious too. They also serve tasty regular sushi like salmon, scallop battleship, and yellowtail, as well as unique sushi like changja sushi. If you're looking for affordable and delicious sushi, Kura Sushi is a must-try nationwide chain!

Due to the impact of bird flu, it's hard to find dishes with eggs at many revolving sushi restaurants. However, I found them at Kura Sushi, which I visited early in the morning. The chawanmushi was delicious and had chunks of chicken in it. The miso soup was light and easy to drink. The thick-cut mackerel was satisfying, and the sea urchin was tasty. My child enjoyed the salmon. Thank you for the meal!

One weekend, I visited a conveyor belt sushi restaurant located in Kikusui Motomachi, Shiraishi Ward for lunch. The parking lot seemed to have enough space for parking. I sat at the usual reception machine and was assigned a seat in the restaurant. The layout seemed a bit different, with the counter divided into left and right sections. There were more table seats than counter seats. Mysterious music was playing in the background. I used the QR code on the menu to order some items from the touch panel on my smartphone. I tried the "Extra Large Snow Crab (280 yen)" which was featured in a commercial. The rice was a bit small and cold, but the snow crab had a decent flavor, although it tasted a bit thawed. I also tried the "Sweet Shrimp (115 yen)" which was recommended and had a good price. It was slightly smaller than average and tasted like shrimp from a supermarket pack. I then had the "Southern Bluefin Tuna Gunkan (165 yen)" which had a good volume and a rich taste, including the fat. I also tried the "Rich Cheddar Cheese Tempura (115 yen)" which was interesting. It took some time to fry, but the crispy tempura batter mixed with the tangy cheese was a unique dish. I ordered the "Deep-Fried Corn (115 yen)" as it looked interesting. It arrived hot, with large corn kernels deep-fried into 3 pieces, allowing me to enjoy the sweetness of the corn without any seasoning. The "Thick and Fatty Mackerel Nigiri (115 yen)" was indeed thick, but a bit tough and lacked freshness. It was decent considering the price. Lastly, I had the "Crab Yuke Gunkan (165 yen)" which took some time to arrive. It looked visually appealing with the colors of the egg yolk, white fish, and chopped tuna, along with a bit of crab meat and sweet sauce. Overall, some dishes took longer to be served, so it's important to be mindful of time when ordering. I forgot how to remove the plates from the conveyor belt, and had to ask the staff for help in the end. Thank you for the meal.

Over the past decade, I have always preferred ordering sushi at conveyor belt sushi restaurants rather than reaching out for plates on the belt. However, recently, with all the talk about the possible extinction of conveyor belts in sushi restaurants due to various issues like food waste, I found myself wanting to try the sushi that goes around on the belt. So, I decided to visit a conveyor belt sushi restaurant called "Kura Sushi" where they had a lunchtime rule of only eating sushi that goes around on the belt, with no individual orders allowed. The experience of watching the plates go around the belt was quite exciting. Although it was a bit inefficient and sometimes frustrating when the plate you wanted was taken by someone else, the thrill of finally grabbing the sushi you desired was unmatched. It made me nostalgic for the old days of conveyor belt sushi, where you had to wait for your favorite dish to come around. It may not be practical in today's fast-paced world, but having the option of experiencing the entertainment value of inconvenience is something I hope to preserve in conveyor belt sushi restaurants. At "Kura Sushi," all the sushi plates on the belt were priced at a flat rate of 115 yen (tax included), and each dish was surprisingly delicious for the price. They also had a special surprise plate called "Gift from Momotaro" that added an extra element of excitement to the dining experience. That day, I ended up enjoying 20 plates of sushi, which was more than my usual order, but each plate felt special and unique. I hope that the unique culture of conveyor belt sushi will continue to thrive in the future!

Kura Sushi is a nationwide chain, but it's great that they have a revolving sushi belt! The highlights were the aged tuna, orange clam, sweet shrimp, marinated squid, and clam dressing gunkan. The sliced natural octopus with ginger had a nice balance. The salmon roe and fatty salmon were good, and the aged amberjack was delicious when chopped. The firefly squid and eel liver gunkan were surprisingly tasty. The domestic sea urchin gunkan was a bit dry but still edible. The thick-cut seared mackerel was okay, but the seasoning was not great. The aged medium fatty tuna was good. The large eel nigiri was unexpectedly light and crispy. The aged blowfish and bonito sashimi were also good. The soy sauce ramen at revolving sushi places tends to be quite salty, but this one had a decent broth compared to others. The medium-thick noodles were used.

I visited Kura Sushi on February 24, 2023. This is the second branch in Sapporo, which is easier to get into compared to the first branch. It was crowded when I visited, so I sat at the counter. Due to the COVID-19 measures, there were partitions between customers, making it feel like we were eating separately. I had mini tantanmen as a substitute for miso soup and mainly had sushi rolls and gunkan. It was a fun experience trying different types of sushi that I don't usually eat. Overall, it was a good meal.

Visiting conveyor belt sushi chain restaurants is fun, but there are still many places I haven't been to. In that regard, I went to Kura Sushi for the first time in my life. First of all, it's fun to watch the plates being sucked in. And the excitement of playing "Bikkura Pon!" is great. What's this, it's so much fun! I got excited putting in the fifth plate, feeling nervous and excited. I played "Bikkura Pon!" three times, but only won once. I got even more excited with the Spy Family game. Now, let's talk about the sushi. It was rotating on the conveyor belt, but you order using a touch panel. We were used to ordering four plates at a time at Kura Sushi, so we found it hard to adjust to ordering one plate at a time. The prices also felt a bit higher. The delicious items were indeed delicious. The yuzu-marinated sea bream was tasty. The dessert selection felt a bit lacking, but the Milky Fujiya cake was delicious. The sea urchin was labeled as not using alum, but I could still taste the alum flavor... The seaweed on the tekka maki was crispy and delicious. Visited in February 2023.

I love it. I'm rooting for you. I used to think that the best part of conveyor belt sushi was taking the dishes as they go around. Of course, it's also okay to order what you like, but I really love seeing the dishes energetically going around on the rail and everyone enjoying them. I've loved it since I was a child. I'm so grateful for this dreamlike sushi restaurant where you can eat at such a low cost. I love it. I ate too much. Thank you for the meal.

The coworkers and I went to Kura Sushi for lunch. It was not too crowded, maybe because it was a Thursday or because a new branch had opened in Hiraoka. The restaurant is spacious with tables that can accommodate up to 6 people, which I liked. The staff only came to our table during the payment, so we could enjoy our meal at our own pace. The sea urchin was delicious, and the sushi on the conveyor belt was a bit pricier now, but the fatty tuna and shrimp were really tasty. I had been to Kura Sushi once before and didn't have a great impression, but this visit changed my mind. I would like to go back again soon! ❤️

No need for idle talk, let's talk about casual conveyor belt sushi restaurants like Hamazushi, Kura Sushi, and Sushiro! On the other hand, Triton, Hanamaru, and Nagoyakatei are more of a high-spirited conveyor belt sushi experience. I thought to myself, I want to eat sea urchin and abalone! I want to eat them because they are delicious and affordable! I decided to go to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant for lunch with my wife and second daughter. Oh, Kura Sushi is nearby? I checked the app and found it! Let's go! We arrived in heavy rain. If there's karaoke, should we sing? It's a national holiday, but there are parking spaces available, with a security guard guiding us to the back. Despite my sore left foot, I ran ahead. We were seated in a booth right away. We ordered 4 plates of abalone sushi and 4 plates of sea urchin battleship sushi. The sea urchin battleship sushi was sweet and creamy, while the abalone sushi was chewy and delicious. Overall, the sea urchin and abalone at Kura Sushi were excellent! The pufferfish jelly with ponzu sauce and the cod milt jelly with ponzu sauce battleship sushi were also delicious. That's all for now. Sorry for the long-winded review, please forgive me and let it slide.

🌞◼️Muten Kura Sushi Sapporo Kikusui Motomachi Store My nephew was in the mood for conveyor belt sushi, so we stopped by this place before heading back home ❤️❤️❤️ It's a new store that opened up next to Heiroku Sushi. Speaking of Heiroku Sushi, I used to go to the one in Susukino a lot when I was younger ❤️

Kura Sushi had finally arrived, so after some time, I decided to go check it out. I checked in and was guided to my assigned seat. I used the touch panel to place my order, but it was a bit tiring to reach up and press the buttons. The food was delivered to my table on a conveyor belt, making it easy to pick up my order. There was a place to return plates, and I even tried the lottery for every five plates, but I didn't win. The sushi tasted similar to other 100 yen sushi places, so it was just okay. They also offer lunch sets, which might be a better deal. Overall, it was a fun experience to try out. While I believe that if you want to truly enjoy sushi, it's better to go to a traditional sushi restaurant in Hokkaido, the system at Kura Sushi was interesting.

I tried eating until I was full, but the cost performance is mediocre. I ate quite a bit and my stomach is at 120%, but the satisfaction level is around 50%. For the same price of 2,530 yen, it doesn't quite measure up to the top three sushi restaurants. The sushi rice was just average. It's nice that you can choose the amount of rice, which might be good for women or those on a diet. The thick scallop was decent for one piece, but not bad. The bonito tuna had a nice acidity and the flavor of the tuna came through, but the texture was a bit off. The two servings of sardine with pickled plum were visually vibrant with a glossy fatty feel. The crispy texture and the lingering skin-like sensation made me feel the freshness, but the second serving of flatfish at the end was not as crispy, indicating a drop in quality. The medium fatty tuna was deliciously sweet with a lingering aftertaste. I would like to try a more intense flavor of surf clam. The extra large cut of eel wasn't as big as expected, and it wasn't really hand-pressed. It's nice to have a clear indication of the flounder. The shrimp tempura sushi was like a beef bowl sushi. The extra large cut of raw salmon was thick and the mackerel was matured to perfection. I'm not sure if I managed to try everything I listed, but overall, the taste didn't quite impress me. Next time I visit a Kura Sushi without additives, I'll be more selective and maybe stick to around 3 to 5 plates. With a total of 23 plates and four rounds of the Big La Pon game, I won one and lost three times. I took photos as they were served, so some might be upside down or unclear. (Apologies for any rudeness) Restaurant Information: Kura Sushi Sapporo Kikusui Motomachi Branch, 6-1-9 Kikusui Motomachi 6-1-9, Shiroishi-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido.

In Sapporo, the presence of budget sushi chains like "Sushiro," "Hamazushi," and "Kura Sushi" is growing rapidly, alongside the traditional gourmet revolving sushi restaurants like "Triton," "Hanamaru," and "Nagoyakatei." The emergence of 100-yen sushi chains cannot be underestimated either. One such chain, "Mizukura Sushi," has recently expanded to three locations in Sapporo, including one near my home. During my first visit to the "Kikusui Motomachi" branch, I noticed a new style of operation where customers are mostly self-served and guided to their seats upon arrival. The tables come with covered compartments containing soy sauce, pickled ginger, and cutlery. Instead of pouring soy sauce into a small dish, customers are encouraged to pour it directly onto their plate. There is also a "surprise draw" where customers can win prizes by returning five empty plates. Families with young children seemed to enjoy this feature. Although I was disappointed by the lack of "fugu" (pufferfish) during their "45th Anniversary Super Sankaku and Japan Sea Fair," I found the "Tappuri Ankou" dish satisfying. Overall, I would rate Mizukura Sushi below Sushiro and Hamazushi, but slightly better than Kura Sushi. It seems to cater more to families with young children, and I wish them success in maintaining their unique approach.

I visited for lunch. I arrived right after they opened, but the parking lot was almost full. It seems to be popular. This time, I ordered the following items: "Aged Medium Fatty Tuna," "Thick Scallop Nigiri," "Cod Milt Tempura Gunkan," "Abalone Nigiri," "Fresh Salmon Nigiri," "Assorted Whelk," "Large Scallop Assortment," "Red Clam," "Fatty Bonito," "Premium Large Salmon Roe Gunkan," "Hokkaido Live Scallop," "Special Steamed Egg Custard," "Aged Sea Bream," "Delicious Sea Bream with Salted Lemon," "Shrimp Tempura Sushi," "Grilled Medium Fatty Tuna," "Delicious Sea Bream with Salted Lemon," "Aged Pickled Sea Bream." I might have eaten too much (lol). It's cheap and delicious, so I want to come back to eat again. Thank you for the meal٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

If there are available reservation seats online, you will be seated right away. However, if it's fully booked, you need to check in and wait for your turn based on the time you reserved (for example, 17:40-50), not the order of check-in. There is no need to arrive early before your reserved time. There is no paper given at check-in for reservations, so you don't know how long you'll wait. Just wait once you've checked in. There is a red reception machine, but there is no personal identification required, so anyone can use it. On this particular Sunday night, it was crowded, so even with a reservation, there was a 30-minute wait. If you walk in without a reservation, you might have to wait for an hour. There is a rough estimate of waiting time on the check-in machine. The most important thing, the sushi, varies in quality depending on the day. On this day, the rice was a bit soft. The servings were sloppy as the conveyor belt kept running. Look closely at what is on the belt before taking it. The vinegar in the mackerel was strong, there were no small bones in the sardine, and the yuzu salt was tangy. The natto roll was thin and difficult to eat. There was no ginger provided (for bonito tataki and Pacific saury). Payment is done at the self-checkout, which may take some time until everyone gets used to it. It might be a good option when it's not crowded, but it can be frustrating when it's busy, so you might want to avoid it.

Along the circular road, hmm? Was this place here before? I tend to forget when it's renovated. Lately, I often take my daughter to eat out at revolving sushi restaurants because it's the least hassle. I don't usually mention chain restaurants, but this time it was Kura Sushi, so I'm writing it down for reference. It's great for families because kids can enjoy it too! And it's cheap too!! Let's go again when my daughter can eat more variety of sushi!
