The sausages and ham here are fresh and delicious. Especially the ham wrapped in orange plastic is exquisite (I forgot the name...). I tried it because they have gelato. When I ordered gelato, the lady at the shop brought me a sample of ham and jerky wrapped in orange plastic and said, "Try this." At first, we thought it looked like fish sausage so it might not taste good. But when we tried it, we were surprised! It had a lemon scent, was light and delicious. The jerky would go well with beer. I bought the orange and sausage and went home. They also sell them at Obihiro Station. There were also ones wrapped in red and black plastic besides orange!

Located in Yachiyo, southwest of Obihiro City, is the Yachiyo Public Development Ranch. They continue to make authentic ham and sausages using spices made in Germany and locally sourced meat from Hokkaido. It is said that they carefully craft their products without using preservatives. I received a gift set of sausages from a friend, and each one was full of the delicious flavor of the meat, which I enjoyed very much. I recommend grilling them on a hot plate to directly savor the flavor of the meat. Although I didn't know much about this shop, it is known for producing high-quality products. I hope to visit the ranch next year when the weather is nice to see the farm and cows, and also try their ice cream.

Located at the foot of Tokachi Horoshiri-dake in the southwest of Obihiro City, Hachio Public Development Ranch is home to approximately 1,000 cattle. The vast grounds can sometimes make it difficult for visitors to catch a glimpse of the cows. The ranch features a restaurant (also a training facility) on top of a hill and a shop (processing plant) at the foot of the hill, each with its own parking lot. During my visit, I stopped by the shop at the foot of the hill. Inside, there were photos of the ranch, including cows, as well as various explanations about potatoes. I particularly enjoyed the cute calf photos. We ordered gelato, choosing from six flavors available that day: rum raisin, fresh milk, and strawberry yogurt. Each flavor was rich and sweet, and before choosing, the staff kindly offered us samples. Another surprising aspect was the variety of gelato flavors. Although not available that day, the menu on the wall included unique options like okra and pine nuts. I would love to revisit and try these unconventional flavors.

I arrived at Obihiro Station. I'm going to check out the "Shikisai-kan" inside the station. They have a variety of Tokachi souvenirs. I bought this for myself: "Yachiyo Ranch Beef Jerky." Keipon said, "Delicious!" Tokumei Sarukichi said, "Goes well with beer!" That got me interested. I'm going to try it with a beer right away. When I opened the bag, there was a nice smoky smell! It's like soft beef jerky. It's spicy and goes well with beer. This is going to make the beer taste even better! I should have bought more of these.

I wonder when was the last time I visited Obihiro Station. It looks so different now. On the other hand, Kushiro Station seems unchanged. This time, I came to Obihiro Station in search of the beef smoked meat that keipon recommended as cheap and delicious. It's affordable and comes in a decent amount. Unlike what keipon said, the one I bought was quite moist. But it goes well with beer and was a good purchase. It wasn't overwhelmingly delicious, but it was still good.

I didn't think there would be any registration, but there was, and I'm grateful. When I went to Obihiro, I booked a hotel near the station. I didn't include breakfast, so I went out alone in search of breakfast. I had a delightful breakfast at a fun restaurant, and on my way back to the hotel, I stopped by a store at the station. I came across "Yachiyo Ranch" and was intrigued by the company name being prominently displayed rather than the product name. I wondered if it was beef jerky or something similar. It cost 398 yen, which seemed cheap. It was Blue Cheese on a board, which looked like a cutting board with a cow on it. It seemed perfect to pair with beer. As soon as I opened the bag, a smoky aroma filled the air. It smelled so good that it made me happy. I thought it would be more moist, but it was surprisingly dry. Once I started eating, I couldn't stop. The spicy slices paired with the unique Blue Cheese created a continuous moment of bliss. The slightly spicy slices went well with beer, but the presence of Blue Cheese made it easy to switch to red wine without any discomfort. It had no unpleasant odor or taste, and the seasoning was just right. Plus, it only cost 398 yen. I decided that if I ever found it again, I would definitely buy it. It was a night of determination.
