In the popular area of Chuo Ward in Sapporo, there is Maruyama Park at the western edge of the ward. Every year during Golden Week, the park is bustling with cherry blossom viewers. A unique feature of cherry blossom viewing in Sapporo is enjoying "Genghis Khan" (grilled lamb) in the park. People enjoy beer and Genghis Khan in a hearty manner. During this cherry blossom viewing period, the use of fire is permitted in the park. The "Maruyama Park Center" sells onigiri, Matsuo Genghis Khan, appetizers, drinks, etc. The Maruyama Park Management Office was renamed "Maruyama Park Center" in 2015. It is a management office and shop in the park supervised by the city of Sapporo. During the cherry blossom viewing period, they also introduce delivery services for Genghis Khan with a stove. This allows people to enjoy cherry blossom viewing without carrying anything. This shop is located in the Maruyama area of Chuo Ward, Sapporo, along the north 1st street Miyanozawa street. There is a UCC capsule pot machine near the entrance, where you can pay 150 yen to the staff and receive a coffee or tea capsule and a disposable cup to make your own drink.
