My friend made a reservation at this restaurant in Tomakomai. I was surprised by how spacious it was with both a first and second floor. The sashimi was fresh and had a variety of types, which left me satisfied. Especially, the ginger-wrapped meat was a hit for me. It was refreshing and I felt like I could eat it endlessly.

I finally had the chance to visit "Mikazuki," a skewer specialty restaurant that I've been curious about for a while. I arrived at 17:30, the opening time, and even though it was already half full, the place was quite lively considering the current situation. I quickly sat down and started ordering. I started with beer, ginger-wrapped skewers, and natto-wrapped skewers. Cheers! The beer, served in a chilled mug, paired perfectly with the innovative ginger-wrapped skewers. It was amazing. I have been visiting this creative yakitori (grilled skewers) specialty shop for the past 10 years. It is always crowded, so making a reservation in advance is a must. I highly recommend their specialty dish, the pork wrapped in fresh ginger skewer. The sweet and savory flavor of the fresh ginger is exquisite!

Last year, I received a request for a lecture outside of Gunma Prefecture, which was my first time speaking in a different location. Interestingly, I had been approached for a similar opportunity three years ago in Hokkaido. The word "Hokkaido" has always held a special place in my heart since my high school days when I traveled around Tohoku with the Seishun 18 Kippu ticket. Despite my initial reluctance towards trying new foods, a visit to Aomori changed my perspective and I became a food enthusiast. Since then, my fascination with Hokkaido grew stronger, fueled by various information and TV shows about the region.
I easily accepted the offer to speak at the lecture, as it was a dream come true to visit Hokkaido. After 28 years, I found myself at Haneda Airport, ready to embark on my domestic flight debut to Hokkaido. The air in Hokkaido was refreshingly delicious, and I was guided around Sapporo by a Tomakomai city official before heading to my accommodation. The next day, after checking the equipment at the venue, I enjoyed some delicious grilled skewers at a new izakaya in Tomakomai.
The warm welcome and hospitality from the Tomakomai city officials and the deaf community members made my visit even more memorable. The food in Hokkaido, including fish, vegetables, and meat, was exceptionally delicious, with a unique quality that I had not experienced before. I expressed my gratitude and promised to return to Hokkaido in the future. It was a truly wonderful experience, and I look forward to visiting again.
