I was taken to this restaurant by a regular customer. I ordered a sashimi assortment to have as an appetizer, enjoying it with some drinks. My husband wanted sushi more than drinks, so he focused on the sushi menu. The sushi here is made with fresh ingredients and the chef's spirit of serving generously sized toppings on the rice, especially the Ezo Maesushi with larger toppings, allows you to fully enjoy the flavors. The luxurious roll with salmon roe is a must-try, as it is filled with plenty of ingredients. While the sushi is delicious, I believe many people come back for the friendly and talkative chef. I couldn't say the price as I was treated to the meal.

There is a sushi restaurant with green signs along the Hakodate Industrial Road. I visited Car Sushi and had their Special Sushi (2,000 yen). Despite the fierce competition in the area, including conveyor belt sushi restaurants, Car Sushi stands out with its cozy eight-seat counter and raised seating area.

Located just off the industrial road, this sushi restaurant is like a hidden gem that even taxi drivers have a hard time finding. The chef is incredibly friendly and fun, serving up delicious dishes. The drink selection is also impressive, with "Tanaka" sake always available. Enjoy a luxurious time savoring fresh fish while chatting with the chef at the counter. It's a truly indulgent experience.

Car Sushi is located just off Industrial Road, across from the Co-op Sapporo Yamate Store, between the ramen shop "Ajino Tokeitai" and Toyota. I ordered the 2500 yen omakase set, which included 13 pieces of sushi: toro, flounder, surf clam, salmon, shrimp, crab, scallop, ark shell, abalone, whale bacon, sea urchin, salmon roe, and tamagoyaki. I especially enjoyed the sea urchin and abalone, with the shrimp having roe on top adding a nice texture and sweetness. The whale bacon had a good chew to it, and the scallop and ark shell were fresh and flavorful. Although soup was not included, the 13 pieces for 2500 yen was satisfying and a good value. Next time, I would like to try their luxury roll with sea urchin, shirako, and salmon roe.

Looking back... The first time I visited Sushijin was on June 15, 2003. The day before, on June 14, around 8:30 PM, after finishing work, we were thinking about where to go for a gathering the next day. M.H (38), K.H (31), M.K (29), and K.S (28) were pondering when our junior K.S suggested Sushijin. We immediately made a reservation over the phone (even though it was around 9:30 PM). The hostess kindly said they were waiting for us and to come safely. It was a pleasant experience. On the 15th, after finishing work, we headed straight to Sushijin. Despite the late hour, the couple welcomed us with smiles. We sat at the counter and ordered four draft beers. The freshness and taste of the beer were exceptional. The chef skillfully served a variety of fresh sashimi and seasonal dishes. The quality of the sushi was outstanding, and we were completely satisfied. After a few beers, we were treated to a rare sweet potato shochu. We had a great time and enjoyed the hospitality of the chef and hostess. Since then, whenever I visit Hakodate, I always make sure to stop by Sushijin. The last visit was on September 7 and 11, 2011, where we enjoyed fresh seafood and the chef's expertly prepared dishes. On July 27, 2012, I visited with friends and requested the chef's choice sushi, which was excellent. The grilled flounder, live squid, and other dishes were delicious and made us very happy. We look forward to visiting again. On September 28, 2012, and October 3, 2012, we once again enjoyed the chef's selection of fresh seasonal ingredients, including live squid and grilled tuna collar. Our friend, Yoshida Motoki, also enjoyed the meal. We will definitely make a reservation when we visit Hakodate again. Thank you for the wonderful dining experience.

On the first day of my trip from Hakodate to Oma, I made a reservation at Sushizushi in Hakodate with the introduction from Kentaro, the manager of Akachochin in Kisarazu. I took the streetcar and got off at Fukabori Station, then walked about 20 minutes following the map I printed from Google. Despite Kentaro's suggestion to take a taxi, I decided to walk. When I arrived, I found the sign for Sushizushi. I ordered a draft beer when my throat was just right, and had the chef make a chef's choice sashimi. When I mentioned that I would be going to Oma tomorrow, the master confidently said, "Our tuna is tastier than Oma's tuna." While enjoying delicious sushi, the locals kept coming in, and we had a great time chatting. Originally, I planned to leave for Mount Hakodate around 7 pm, but we ended up staying until around 11 pm because everyone was having so much fun. However, thanks to that, we avoided getting wet in the rain, so it all turned out okay in the end!

The first time I tried the combination of "quail and tobiko gunkan" was at a sushi restaurant in a residential area. There are many "neighborhood sushi restaurants" in the area, but not many can compare to conveyor belt sushi restaurants. Among them, this restaurant stood out as the ideal type of "neighborhood sushi restaurant." It exudes an atmosphere of wanting customers to eat delicious food until they are full and feel pleasantly tipsy. Therefore, even when the thickly sliced chutoro nigiri is almost impossible to dip in rice, resembling eating sashimi, you can still appreciate it with a kind heart, saying "Wow, amazing!" Even if you visit as a first-time customer without any referrals, the hospitality remains unchanged. The recommended nigiri by the owner is priced at ¥2,500, while the premium option is ¥2,100, making it very reasonable. The selection of sushi is reminiscent of traditional sushi restaurants in Hakodate. From Shige-chan Sushi, Kuruma Sushi, Shin Sushi, Ume no Sushi, to the bonus options of Kanta Sushi and other beloved sushi restaurants, the variety is expanding.

I traveled from Hakodate in the north to Kumamoto in the south trying sushi along the way, but this sushi restaurant might be the best in the country... I left it to the chef and the quality of the ingredients was top-notch, including some rare delicacies I had never tried before. They also served each dish at the perfect timing, which I appreciated. I always make sure to have a piece of nigiri at every sushi restaurant I visit, but this time I was so full from the sashimi that I thought I couldn't eat anymore. However, I couldn't resist and ended up having a sea urchin nigiri. It was so rich and flavorful, I was instantly hooked! This is the first time I've felt so happy at a sushi restaurant! The hospitality of the chef and the hostess made me feel so comfortable and I ended up having a great time. I was also impressed by the unique shochu and sake they offered. I will definitely visit again when I come to Hakodate. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
