Both of my eyes have contracted conjunctivitis, making it difficult to see clearly. I have a backlog of sketches piling up and I can only write brief reviews. I'm worried I might forget about them. I visited a bento shop next to the eye clinic I go to. It seems like a shop that has been around for a long time, but no one has written a review about it. I didn't feel like preparing food myself, so I decided to go in. There were more options than I expected, making it hard to choose. The staff told me to call them when I had decided, but I couldn't make up my mind. Eventually, they came out from the back to help me. I ordered a Sports Bento for 500 yen, a Zangi Nori Bento for 450 yen, and Salt Yakisoba for 390 yen. I also added a 200g portion of Zangi for 360 yen. The total came to 1700 yen including tax. While cooking, I noticed a slight smell of oil, but the prices were reasonable. The food was prepared relatively quickly. It seemed like they used commercial ingredients and lacked a homemade touch, but the prices were cheap. I also added some individual items and the delicious fried chicken made it worth it. The yakisoba was just okay, as it seemed to come with curry straight from a can. It was a bit strange. I received a loyalty card from the bento shop and I'm curious to try more of their offerings.

On a certain weekday, when the planned restaurant for lunch was unexpectedly closed, I headed to a bookmarked bento shop located in Shiroji 2-jo, Kita-ku. It seemed to be a non-chain bento shop with no parking lot. The interior consisted of a reception counter and waiting chairs typical of a bento shop. The background music was playing on FM radio.
I struggled to choose from the menu, as the options were uniquely original. I decided to try the "Powerful Bento (580 yen)" which looked visually appealing. After a short wait, it was ready. It felt a bit heavy. I took a bite... Wow, the freshly fried and hot fried horse mackerel was delicious in size and taste. The meat cutlet was also hot and crispy on the outside, surprisingly tasty on the inside. The chicken cutlet had a crispy coating and tender meat, while the zangi had a strong impact with its savory sauce and oil. The bento also included enjoyable items like chikuwa, slightly firm sausage, potato salad, pickled cucumber, boiled egg, and rice of a soft texture, which was not bad.
I realized that although it took a bit of time, the freshly fried items were a delightful surprise, and I looked forward to trying other bentos in the future. It was a satisfying meal.

Since Darin started going to the Shinro area often, I have been able to explore the hidden food treasures of Sapporo that I didn't know before. Darin stopped by a bento shop called "Oishinbo Club" that caught his eye every time he passed by and brought back some for me. When I unwrapped the package, I was surprised by the colorful and passionate contents inside. The "Stamina" bento had chicken nanban as the main dish, along with potato salad, boiled egg, and fried fish. The "Powerful" bento had fried horse mackerel, fried chicken, various fried items, potato salad, boiled egg, and sausage. It seemed like a hearty meal fit for a laborer. Despite being filled with fried foods, the crispy chicken nanban with crunchy onions and tangy sauce was delicious. I enjoyed every bite and felt satisfied. I definitely want to try other menu items next time!

I ordered the Big Sports Bento. I think it would be better if it had a little more volume.
