The alluring standing sushi style is something I occasionally want to try. I was intrigued by the tempura available only on Thursdays. There was a set menu of six pieces of sushi for a thousand yen, but I decided to choose what I wanted to eat. Previously known as Standing Drink Ichi, the Standing Sushi Ichi started on December 20th last year. It used to serve Japanese cuisine in the Kuwon area, making it a perfect place to enjoy sushi quickly. I visited the standing sushi Ichi after shopping at Homac. By the time I arrived, they had almost finished preparing the vinegar rice, resulting in well-conditioned shari. The tuna akami was sweet, while the chutoro was melty and delicious. The cured mackerel was light and tangy, and the grilled eel had a nice aroma. The beef nigiri was similar to roast beef and very tasty. The beef sushi ball was cheap, satisfying, and well-presented. The negitoro roll was delicious, using quality chutoro. Both the chutoro and cured mackerel had a good umami flavor and aftertaste. I didn't eat the ginger, but that's something they could improve on. They don't serve hot tea as the shop is small, but I think it's fine not to offer free drinks. I asked for oolong tea this time since I was driving. The amount of oolong tea was small, but with ice, so the overall experience was positive. I had a total of six pieces of sushi, a roll, and finished with a bill of 2,070 yen, which was reasonable. Next time, I want to enjoy sushi with alcohol.
