There was a tatami room and a kettle for a tea ceremony class, but it seems that there is no food or drink service. It feels like an old-fashioned shop where you can have a conversation with the shopkeeper while shopping. I purchased a gift box for summer gifts, which includes two types of loose leaf tea for cold brewing and a Hario glass water server, for 5000 yen. I had been interested in the Hario glass water server for a while and wanted to gift it along with delicious tea leaves, so I was very satisfied to find this perfect set. I requested to have it shipped to a different location, and while they were preparing it, I enjoyed a cup of fresh tea. I was grateful for this kind gesture, it was truly wonderful.

In March 2015, Omorien is a tea shop founded in 1946 in the Kuwazono area of Chuo Ward. In 1968, they relocated to Nishino in Nishi Ward. In December 2014, they moved their headquarters to Maruyama in Chuo Ward, close to their original location in Kuwazono. I visited the new location with my usual companion. The shop is located near the popular Western confectionery store, Parfait Mondeau Minami 6 Jo in Sapporo's Chuo Ward. I visited around 4 pm and parked in the shop's parking space. The new shop is more compact compared to the Nishino location, lacking the spacious feel. Unfortunately, the popular "Gyokuro Soft Serve" from the Nishino location has been discontinued. Omorien not only sells tea but also tea utensils, seaweed, and Japanese sweets. They have interesting limited edition sweets. I was intrigued by their original "Japanese-style Cherry Chocolate Beans" and decided to purchase them. I also sampled their tea, which had a delightful flavor typical of a tea shop. The "Japanese-style Cherry Chocolate Beans" have a nostalgic flavor with peanuts in the center and a sakura leaf-infused white chocolate coating. Priced at 540 yen (including 8% consumption tax), these beans have a subtle sakura flavor that evokes an early spring feeling. I hope they bring back the "Gyokuro Soft Serve" in the future. They do not accept cards, so be prepared to pay in cash. I look forward to trying their other original sweets next time. Delicious, thank you for the meal.
