YouTube link is here. This is a solo dining tour that I decided on this time (May 5, 2022). I couldn't visit the restaurants I wanted to go to while on a work trip, but just like in Okinawa last time, this time it's all private. The takeoff from Haneda was a bit delayed, and I arrived at Kushiro Airport at 9:55. I got on the airport shuttle bus and arrived at Kushiro Station at 11:05. I tried to use my Suica card to get on the train, but at this station, it seems you can only use tickets or commuter passes. In a rush, I lined up at the Midori no Madoguchi window, but the train I wanted to take departs at 11:12. Just in time. I managed to catch it and got off at Akkeshi Station at 11:58. When I climbed a small hill from the station, Akkeshi Conquérie, a roadside station, appeared. The first stop is on the second floor of that place. - Sumibi Aburiya. As expected, it was very crowded. I told them my name and waited for 25 minutes. Here, you choose your own ingredients, pay in advance, and are seated, then you cook it yourself. I wanted to try a comparison of three types of raw oysters, but one type was sold out. - Maruemon (extra-large x3). - Kakiemon (extra-large x3). I was seated at the counter and ordered: - Draft beer (medium, Sapporo Classic). - Lemon sour. Among families and couples, I started my solo feast (sweating). First, the beer. There is no off-flavor, but... The beer mug is at room temperature, so it quickly becomes lukewarm. The lemon sour is cold, of course, with ice. Kakiemon. Maruemon. I squeezed lemon on both and ate them without ponzu sauce. They were delicious. They were really good, but... I could eat these in Kushiro, or even in Kanto. What I was expecting was something unique to the local area, so my shoulders slumped. I ate and drank quickly and went outside. Overall. Thanks to the development of logistics, the level of what is expected from local restaurants has increased. I am traveling in search of that "something".
