Finally got to eat the miso ramen. During Golden Week, I had a day off and went to Tsukimiken. It's an old-fashioned, hearty miso ramen. No worries about no chemicals or reduced salt! It's a rich miso flavor with garlic. I've been going there since high school. Despite the name Tsukimiken, there are no seasoned eggs. The fried rice was also delicious. I'd like to try the shio (salt) and shoyu (soy sauce) ramen someday. The Tsukimiken you can buy as a souvenir or at the supermarket seems to be a completely different shop. #Tsukimiken #Tsukimiken Third Generation #Miso Ramen #Sapporo Gourmet #Fried Rice

Subway Kita 34-jo Station Area. ◇ Business hours 11:30-20:00 ◇ Closed on Tuesdays ◇ Parking available, cash only Respect for the Aged Day. As usual, I made temari sushi for my parents, and then my wife and I visited this place in the evening. The last two visits were for the summer limited edition chilled ramen. Personally, my preference is chilled -> salt -> miso -> soy sauce. The interior has counter seats, and on the right side, there are table seats that were added previously. The operation is run by a male-female pair. We were seated at the counter, but the lack of depth made half of the counter in the shadow, making the food look less appetizing. We ordered: ◆ Miso Ramen (850 yen) ◆ Soy Sauce Ramen (850 yen) ◆ Fried Rice (750 yen) [Miso] My wife immediately whispered, "It tastes like miso soup." Huh? The soup here is supposed to be a strong garlic and refreshing orange soup, but when I took a bite, it tasted like miso soup. Did they forget to put some ingredients? We were both disappointed. [Soy Sauce] Although we ordered salt, we got soy sauce. The order wasn't repeated, so I guess that's it. Since it would be a waste to throw it away, we just had the soy sauce. Surprisingly, it lacked the punch that you'd expect from Tsukimiken. What happened? My wife also tried a sip. She said, "It tastes like ozoni soup." Indeed, the flavor of dried shiitake mushrooms is the strongest. It was supposed to be a chicken clear soup, but it was weak. What happened? [Noodles] Medium-thick noodles from Kazuyanagi Seimen. Loose curls with a high water content. It has a retro style, with a faint wheat flavor that now only feels cheap. It might have fewer curls compared to other Kazuyanagi Seimen used in other shops. [Chashu] Well-seasoned pork shoulder chashu, delicious. [Menma] The taste is normal, but the portion is generous. [Green onions, wood ear mushrooms] Due to cost reasons, the half boiled egg has been replaced with wood ear mushrooms for quite some time, but the egg is still better. The green onions are normal. [Fried Rice] Fried rice from a ramen shop. Moist and flavorful, the quality is worse than the Tsukimiken I used to know. Still, it's decent. [Overall] It might have just been a one-time bad experience. I'm not comparing it to other Tsukimiken locations. This is just about this particular store. Thank you for the meal.

I had miso ramen. The rich miso flavor mixed with various umami tastes in the soup is delicious. Surprisingly, the aftertaste is refreshing. The medium-thick curly noodles are delicious. The toppings include chewy and flavorful chashu, wood ear mushrooms, green onions, and bamboo shoots, keeping it simple. This soup is quite tasty. The energetic and friendly service from the young lady creates a good atmosphere.

It's been a while since I had ramen, and I visited the main store of San Dai Mei Tsukimiken for the first time in a while. Luckily, there were two seats available at the counter, so we were seated right away (lucky us). This time, we ordered fried rice and dumplings, while my husband had miso ramen. The interior of the restaurant seemed a bit different, maybe they reduced the number of seats at the counter? Or maybe they changed the design of the counter? Anyway, we enjoyed our meal.

Here comes Tsukimiken. It's a place that's hard to visit, but there is one in Tokyo as well. This is the main store. The miso ramen (850 yen) and medium rice (150 yen) were delicious. The ramen has a nostalgic flavor and the rice is just right. This is it. The texture and taste are great. Thank you for the feast.

I suddenly felt like eating ramen, so I visited a ramen shop. When I arrived, there were 3 groups waiting for a table. After about 15 minutes, I was able to sit at the counter. I ordered miso ramen, which arrived in about 6 minutes. It was a traditional miso ramen, with the option of adding butter for tourists, but I preferred it without. The local miso ramen was delicious.

I visited a restaurant recommended by Masashi Sada in Hokkaido. I ordered salt ramen and fried rice. Oh no! I forgot to take a picture of the fried rice. Whenever I come to Hokkaido, I always eat miso ramen, but salt ramen is also delicious. I will come back again!

The restaurant was featured on TV, so I decided to check it out. I arrived at 14:00, just after lunchtime, but there was still a line inside the restaurant. It's a place with colorful paper decorations that stand out. I waited about 10 minutes and ordered the recommended salt ramen. The fried rice is also recommended, but there are no set menus. I decided to try the ramen on its own this time. The ramen was served in about 4-5 minutes. It had a classic appearance. The soup was average, nothing special. The noodles were traditional egg noodles, slightly firm. The chashu and menma were the basic toppings. Overall, it was a disappointing experience at this old-fashioned restaurant.

On October 19, 2022, on my way to work, I noticed a restaurant near Sapporo Station where I have never eaten before. When I entered the restaurant, it was full, so I had to wait a bit. However, the staff's customer service was excellent, and the wait was not bothersome at all. As for the taste, I will defer to others' opinions. Thank you for the meal!

It was around 12 o'clock, so there were about 20 people waiting, but I persevered and lined up. After about 20 minutes, we were able to enter, and I ordered shoyu ramen while my daughter ordered miso ramen. I overheard someone behind me saying they were looking forward to eating the fried rice, but I usually avoid carbs, so I skipped it. The fried rice was simple, with a mostly salty flavor and the fatty part of the chashu added a nice taste. The ramen had a traditional Hokkaido look, with a soy sauce broth that had a punch of ginger and firm noodles. It was a flavor I hadn't really tried before. However, as I continued eating, the saltiness became more pronounced, and I couldn't finish the soup. Thank you for the meal!

This is Sapporo ramen with curly noodles, delicious. Some people may feel that the portion is a bit small due to the short length. The miso ramen has a rich flavor with a hint of freshness from orange peel. The salt ramen has a delicate, clear soup. The fried rice here is also delicious.

Located 15 minutes away from Kita 24-jo Station, it seems like there was a mistake with the station name. The correct station should be Kita 34-jo. The recommended ramen shop is San-daime Tsukimiken Honten. Sada-san recommends the Shio Ramen for 800 yen and the Cha-han for 750 yen. The noodles are made by Ichiryu Seimen. The clear soup has a garlic aroma and is deliciously sharp and hot. The Cha-han doesn't have any standout features but is tasty. It might be a bit of a cheat, but dipping the Cha-han in the ramen soup with a ladle is delicious! This is the same shop that even Saruishi visited 25 years ago. It's a bit confusing, but the San-daime Tsukimiken Kitago Honten is completely unrelated in terms of ownership. It's similar to the relationship between Aji no Dai-oh, Muroran Honten and So-hon-ten, and Yamamoto-ya Honten and So-hon-ke. It was delicious.

Miso ramen for 800 yen and fried rice for 750 yen. Total 1,550 yen. This is quite delicious. The ramen has a strong garlic flavor and a spicy kick. It seems like they use some kind of spices in the soup. The fried rice tastes like homemade and is quite tasty. It would be nice if they had a small size option.

I visited "Sandaimetsuken Main Store" on September 5th. It was my first visit this year, with my last visit being on November 26, 2018, which was 4 years ago. The residential area next to it has been replaced by a condominium. The restaurant seems to be doing well, with queues forming in front of it during lunch hours on weekends. There is a dedicated parking space on the right side of the store, with a good number of parking spots available. I entered the restaurant at 5:30 PM after a walk, passing through the chestnut-colored noren curtain. The curtain had the words "Ichiryu Seimen" on it. Inside, there was a kitchen and counter seats on the left, and probably table seats on the right, although I have never seen that area. It feels like they are using the space of two separate stores. I sat at the counter as a solo diner and ordered the miso ramen for 800 yen, which was the first item on the menu. The menu items were not extensive, with only chashu and butter available as toppings. The condiments on the table included white pepper, black pepper, shichimi for gyoza, vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil. The ramen was served after an 8-minute wait. The noodles were medium-thin and had a high water content, giving them a chewy texture. The chashu topping was firm but had a tender texture. The ramen also had sliced green onions, menma, uncut wood ear mushrooms, and white sesame seeds mixed in the soup. The soup itself had a traditional miso flavor with a noticeable garlic kick, rich but not overwhelming. The portion of soup was generous, almost covering the noodles completely. Although the restaurant is known for its fried rice, I opted for ramen this time, but I will try the fried rice next time. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

It's been a while since I visited Sapporo. I didn't know this restaurant at all, but I was intrigued by a talk by Mr. Masashi Sada on a TV show the other day. I wanted to try both the salt ramen and what he called "the best fried rice in Japan," but I wasn't sure if I could handle two dishes by myself. It was my first time at Kita 34-jo Station. I arrived around 5:30 pm on a weekday. The restaurant was almost full, but luckily there was one seat available at the counter. (More customers kept coming in afterwards) The young proprietress apologized, saying, "I'm sorry, but we've run out of rice. Is that okay?" The fried rice was gone. I noticed that all six guys in the group before me had ordered the fried rice. (Were they all served at the same time? Did they cook it all together?) Like me, it seemed that many people who had seen the TV show were ordering the salt ramen. I also ordered beer, salt ramen, and dumplings. The clear golden-colored soup, made from pork bones and chicken, with coarse salt and garlic, was refreshing and easy to drink. The medium-thick noodles were well-matched and indeed delicious. However, judging from the situation inside the restaurant and the rush of salt ramen orders, I wonder if they were able to fully achieve the original taste of their "salt ramen"... But that's just my guess. I don't remember the dumplings being particularly outstanding. At one point, I heard the sound of rice being cooked again. They were vigorously shaking the pot. It seemed like they were also running out of noodles. The owner's voice saying, "I can't do this anymore..." was audible, and they closed before 7 pm. As Mr. Sada said, the ramen and the fried rice that I didn't get to try seem to be really delicious here. However, with the influx of TV viewers like me, the atmosphere seemed a bit chaotic, so I think it's better to wait a bit before coming to fully enjoy the taste here. On my way out, the proprietress apologized again, but I told her that it was delicious and a good experience. I don't know when, but I definitely want to try the fried rice next time. By the way, there are several "Tsukimeiken" restaurants in the city, but they are not related to this one... or rather, there seemed to be some issues, so for fans of Mr. Sada, please visit this one.

I went to Tsukimiken Honten with a coworker for lunch on a weekday and ordered the miso ramen for 750 yen. There were 7 people waiting inside the restaurant. I had only eaten ramen here before, but I heard that the fried rice is delicious. After waiting for about 15 minutes, we sat at the counter and our food arrived in just 10 minutes. There weren't many vegetables, but when it comes to the noodles and soup, it was a classic Sapporo miso ramen style which I really enjoyed. The noodles were not from Nishiyama Seimen, but from Ichiryu Seimen. The soup was delicious, you could drink every last drop. I didn't take a photo, but I tried some of my coworker's fried rice. It was a fluffy type and not too salty. Many other customers were also ordering the fried rice. It would be nice if they had a half portion option for the fried rice.

After getting a haircut, I visited Tsukimiken for a late lunch. Lately, there has been a line outside during lunchtime, so I had to make a few U-turns before I could get in. I ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice (900 yen) which I had been craving for a while. It took about 15 minutes to prepare because there were a few customers ahead of me. The kimchi in the fried rice had just the right amount of spiciness and sourness, unlike the sweetness I found in their kimchi ramen before. The moist kimchi-flavored fried rice and the improved soup were delicious, and I enjoyed my meal.

For lunch on a telework day, I went to Tsukimiken and ordered soy sauce ramen (750 yen), small rice (100 yen), and butter (50 yen). It seems they have started offering takeout for ramen and fried rice as well. After waiting for about 10 minutes, my order was ready. First, I melted the butter a little and then took a sip of the soup... The combination of soy sauce and butter was truly amazing, enhancing the richness of the flavor. I immediately put the butter on the small rice to let it soak in. The noodles were from Ichiryu, with a satisfying firm texture. The toppings included chashu, menma, green onions, and wood ear mushrooms. The wood ear mushrooms were not chopped. The chashu had the usual melt-in-your-mouth texture and was flavorful. Once the butter had fully melted onto the rice, I added some soy sauce from the table and mixed it to make butter soy sauce rice. It was so delicious that I could eat it over and over again. I'll definitely try it again when I have room in my stomach. Thank you for the meal.

I felt like eating the fried rice at Tsukimiken, so I revisited after two years. It was past lunchtime on a weekday, so there weren't many customers. After waiting for about 5 minutes, the fried rice (700 yen) was ready. It was still perfectly fluffy and had just the right amount of salt and pepper, delicious as always. There were times in the past when the salt didn't fully dissolve, but this time it was perfect, I couldn't stop eating with the spoon. The soup had changed from "salt" to "soy sauce" in appearance. The taste was also delicious with a rich soy sauce flavor. Adding some white pepper from the table made it even better. I finished it in no time, it was so tasty. If they had a half ramen and half fried rice option, I would definitely come back more often. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the main branch of Tsukimiken in Sapporo North 34th Street for the first time in about 15 years. The area hasn't changed much. Some people say they don't want to eat nostalgic flavors or that the fried rice is good here, but when restaurants like Junren and Sumire started appearing, we, the generation who were adults at the time, had been eating this kind of miso ramen since we were kids. It's a classic because miso ramen has evolved a lot over the years. People who haven't eaten it in the past won't feel nostalgic when you mention it. But it was delicious. The simple miso ramen remains unchanged. The fried rice was indeed delicious.

I finally came to try the Hiyashi Ramen (cold ramen) at Tsukimiken for 800 yen. It took about 15 minutes after the fried rice ordered by the customer to be ready. It looked more like a mixed soba than cold ramen. I checked the ingredients and mixed them well before eating. However, to my disappointment, it turned out to be Hiyashi Ramen with sesame dressing, which I dislike. The ingredients included chicken char siu, daikon radish, fried leeks, jellyfish, ham, cucumber, and roasted seaweed. The daikon radish was crunchy, the fried leeks were crispy, and the roasted seaweed added good flavor. But I only managed to eat it once. I wish I had asked whether it was soy sauce or sesame dressing before ordering. However, since I completed the menu, I'll consider it a good experience. Thank you for the meal.
