One day, on a hot day, I was heading to have some udon noodles through Chikaho when suddenly there was a request for pork bowl, so I changed my plans! There is a restaurant in a building directly connected from Chikaho with a reputation for its Genghis Khan and pork bowl sauce called "Sorachi". I didn't know about it, but apparently this place is a restaurant serving Obihiro pork bowls developed by a manufacturer called "Sorachi". The bright and high-ceilinged, clean cafe-style interior exudes a sense of cleanliness. I couldn't take a picture inside because customers were reflected, but it's a stylish pork bowl restaurant that is quite popular for weekday lunches. The main menu item is the pork bowl, with options for extra large servings, pork plate, and a menu item called "Pork Zanmai", which seems to be a combination of loin and belly cuts. Furthermore, the pork bowl menu allows for customization such as adjusting the rice quantity, pork cut size, extra green onions, and options like miso soup. You can also customize with options like regular rice, extra pork, or extra sauce (additional charge?). I ordered a regular pork bowl, and since I added them as a friend on LINE, I received a complimentary miso soup for one time, so that was a nice bonus. When the pork bowl arrived and I lifted the lid, there was a pork bowl with plenty of green onions on top. I sprinkled some sansho pepper over it and enjoyed it! There was also shichimi available. Despite being located in the basement of a building, the pork meat cooked over charcoal was fragrant and very delicious!! However, it was slightly lighter in taste compared to the pork bowls I've had before. I thought it might be even better with a bit more sauce... so my colleague requested an additional sauce, which came in an easy-to-pour container. Just by adding a little bit of this, it became even more delicious☆彡 As expected, with rice bowls, having the sauce spread to the rice enhances the flavor even more, right? I ordered the rice as usual, so I ended up quite full. The other girl customized her pork by cutting it into smaller pieces, which may be easier for women to eat. Next time I go, I think I'll do the same. I was surprised to see that the miso soup bowl had a handle like a mug cup!! It was my first time seeing that. Even though it doesn't feel like you're drinking miso soup (lol), I wonder if this is for inbound tourists... Enjoyed the local gourmet cuisine of Obihiro at an affordable price in Sapporo. Thank you for the meal~
