辛い好きもぐたん
A long-established sushi restaurant located in the central area of Minami-Horomachi, a town known for its thriving agriculture and located closer to Sapporo. The restaurant is situated along Route 430 (Minami-Horo Mukai Stop Line) in the center of Minami-Horomachi town, just about 280 meters north of the intersection with National Route 337 towards Nishi-Hiroshima. I visited this restaurant around noon on November 24, 2021, while it was lightly snowing. Despite the snow, the air was dry, so there was no accumulation, and it did not affect cycling. The temperature was below 5 degrees Celsius. I was cold for the first 15 minutes after leaving home, but then I took off my jacket and continued cycling comfortably. I sat at the counter and ordered the lunch menu, which was a sushi bowl for 950 yen. It came with a couple of side dishes, making it a good deal, but I'm not a fan of sushi bowls, so I opted for the nigiri sushi set for 1,500 yen from the regular menu. I had made a reservation over the phone, and it took about 10 minutes for the ladies to prepare the sushi bowl. In addition to the sushi, I was served a miso soup with a shrimp head, which had a rich shrimp flavor. The sushi pieces were of standard size, with slightly less vinegar in the rice and a subtle sweetness. The toppings were finely cut and neatly presented, showing the skills and dedication of the chef. The variety of sushi included battleship sushi with ikura and tobiko, as well as nigiri with tuna, squid, sea urchin, engawa, and sweet shrimp. There was one unfamiliar topping, which I suspected might be mullet based on its texture and flavor. The combination of the topping and rice was perfect, with the rice easily falling apart in the mouth. Overall, the sushi was delicious and authentic, a testament to the chef's expertise and experience.
