I went to a restaurant that I had been wanting to go to. I made a reservation and picked up my lunch because there is always a line. I had the Nori and Mentaiko Bento for 610 yen. The portion was generous and I liked that you can adjust the number of karaage pieces. The karaage was big and juicy, very tasty! The combination of nori and mentaiko was the best!! It's just a simple bento, but I don't know why I was so impressed by it. The satisfaction level was high for this bento! Thank you for the meal!

No matter what you order, everything is delicious at Nihon-tei. I usually order the Dekamori Zangi bento, but this time I tried the freshly fried Tonkatsu which was really tasty. I didn't get it this time, but I often add mentaiko topping, which I highly recommend. The Tonkatsu was crispy and delicious. My regular order is two Mentaiko bentos from Nihon-tei.

This particular store, "Sapporo Kita 3-jo Store," is a direct-operated store located near JR Sapporo Hospital in the JR Sapporo Station area. They offer a variety of menu items such as fish, popular rice bowls, hamburg steak, stir-fried dishes, and more. I chose the "Thick-cut Beef Bowl" with extra rice, which was a decent portion size. The quality of the beef bowl was average, but the price was a bit high for a small portion. Overall, it was a decent meal, and I may try their fried dishes next time.

I was considering getting the karaage, but then I spotted a bento that caught my eye! This time, I ordered the "Dozen Spring Rolls Bento." I was drawn to it by its appearance and decided to buy it. I quickly returned home and enjoyed it. The spring rolls were freshly fried and delicious! They were tasty even without any sauce! It was amazing! I thought about saving some for a beer snack, but ended up eating everything (laughs). It's nice to find unique bentos occasionally when you visit. It's a bento shop that I would like to visit again. I was busy with work and housework, so I had to resort to getting dinner in a bento. One of my favorite places nearby is Nippon-tei. I always order their famous large portion of fried chicken. It comes with condiments like radish, ponzu sauce, and chili pepper, so you can customize the flavor. Despite its appearance, the taste is not too strong, making it a good accompaniment for a drink. Even though it's dinner time, the restaurant is always bustling with customers, giving off a classic yet lively vibe. I hope they continue to satisfy the stomachs and hearts of the local residents. I will definitely be coming back here often. ♩

"Hoka Ben" ... a name that can be said to be synonymous with bento boxes bought at bento shops. Like Kuroneko's "Takkyubin." This is a bento shop near my company. It's located on the north 3rd street facing Sapporo Factory, just a little towards the town. Although there are bento shops that have been rapidly growing recently, I like the relaxed style of this long-standing bento shop. While nori bento is good, I often buy the karaage bento at this "Hoka Ben" shop. The karaage has a rich flavor and is crispy and juicy.-----------------------------------------------In May 2016, I had a bento with three large karaage pieces and a mega serving of rice. Even though it's a mega serving of rice, the large karaage pieces balance it out perfectly. Salt and Large 3 Bento: 490 yen, Mega serving of rice: 120 yen, Total: 610 yen. Thank you for the meal.

Most of the stores do not have parking spaces, making it a bit difficult to enter compared to major chains, but this shop has plenty of charm to make up for it. The specialty "Deka Karaage" can be purchased individually (130 yen), and on this day, a customer came just to buy this single item. The karaage, which is larger than a toddler's fist, is not shaped by cutting off, but rather forcibly rolled into a ball shape. So even when you look at the cross-section, there are uneven layers. The taste is not roughly made, but above standard level. When you want to forget your age and indulge in fried food, this shop is a top candidate. It also goes well as a side dish for alcohol. The karaage is so big that the lid doesn't close properly, giving off a hearty and impressive vibe even before you start eating. If I had known about this place when I was a high school or college student, I feel like I would have frequented it often. The way they fill you up is truly impressive.
