2022/1/21 First Visit "7th Cup of 2022"
Today, I had some business to attend to and arrived in Sapporo. Due to heavy snow until yesterday, the traffic conditions in Sapporo city are bad. Normally, I would go by car, but it seems better to avoid it this time. So, I thought about using the bus. However, there were reports of heavy traffic and delays in Sapporo city, with some buses being cancelled and others arriving several hours late. In that case, the last resort is JR. It should be fine to board from Kitahiroshima. I wait for the train at Kitahiroshima Station. Oh dear, there are delays on JR as well. An announcement was made that it would be faster to take the local train rather than the rapid airport service, so I boarded that. The train was as crowded as a commuter train in downtown Tokyo. In the end, I arrived in Sapporo about an hour later than planned. Fortunately, I made it in time for my appointment.
Now that it's lunchtime and I've been traveling by train, let's have lunch while we're at it! I didn't have a plan, but a new restaurant caught my eye, so I decided to go in. It's my first visit to Moryu Ekimae-dori Store. Despite it being lunchtime, it was surprisingly empty, probably due to the influence of COVID-19. I sat at the counter and checked the menu. I decided on the ramen and fried rice set. I requested the miso ramen. And also ordered a beer. The beer came first. I made a toast to myself and waited for the food. Soon, the dishes arrived. Both were in mini sizes, but the fried rice looked especially delicious! Let's start with the ramen. I took a sip of the soup. Yes! It's delicious - a very straightforward Sapporo-style miso ramen. It has a nostalgic taste to it. The noodles are also THE Sapporo noodles - medium-thick curly noodles. They are definitely reliable! The stir-fried vegetables, bamboo shoots, green onions, and chashu, typical Sapporo ramen ingredients, also complement the dish well. It's quite flavorful. Now, let's try the fried rice. Wow!! This is really tasty! It's more on the fluffy side, with just the right seasoning. The sweetness of finely chopped onions and the umami of chashu create a very deep flavor. I've been eating fried rice at ramen shops a lot lately, but this one seems to be among the top. While enjoying my beer, I planned to eat slowly, but it was so delicious that I finished it in no time. If it was just the ramen, I would rate it 3.5, but if it was just the fried rice, I would give it a 4.5! Oh, this is why I can't stop eating out. It's so fun when you stumble upon a great find at a random restaurant. Thank you for making me feel so happy once again this time! It was delicious! Thank you for the meal♪
