On the second stop of the "Solo Drinking Day" event, we visited "Wa Bar Reimei." This recommendation came from the owner of the craft beer specialty shop "HAPPY AS LARRY," which we visited first. "HAPPY AS LARRY" had limited food options, with only small packets of Sapporo potato chips for sale. So, we decided to head to "Wa Bar Reimei" for some proper food. The interior of the place had 7 counter seats and 3 tables. I visited on a Friday around 7 pm, and it was about half full. The drink menu mainly consisted of sake. I started with a glass of "Mochi Special Junmai Suisei," a fresh sake from the sake brewery "Sotaike Shuzo" in Mashiko, Tochigi. It had a crisp taste with a hint of freshness, a delightful sake. I apologize for not having a photo to share. For the second drink, I had the "Ume Ka Baien Ume Shu," a rich plum wine that was not just sweet but had depth to it. It was so good that I could have had more! Now onto the food. The appetizers were fantastic, with firefly squid and garlic chips, perfect for sake. The "Happiness Braised Pork" for 880 yen was cooked in a light soy sauce broth, giving it an elegant flavor. The "Dashi-Simmered Egg" for 680 yen was exactly as the name suggests, cooked in dashi and had a refined taste. Lastly, the "Japanese-style Mapo Tofu" for 780 yen had a rich flavor with a slightly thick broth, a unique dish that was delicious. The friendly male owner behind the counter blushed every time I praised the food, which was quite endearing. This is a hidden gem of a place that I almost don't want to share, but I also want it to become popular.

This is a shop in Honmachi that opened last year and offers Japanese sake and dishes that go well with it. The staff are relatively young, and there were many young customers. There were a few table seats in addition to the counter. The otoshi (appetizers) included four dishes, which were enough to have with one drink. We had a sashimi assortment, duck roast, and grilled cherry salmon, and also received bamboo grass as a service. Overall, the quality of the food is high, so if the atmosphere suits you, it's a good place to visit regularly.

I was introduced to this restaurant by a friend and decided to give it a try. I was delighted by the small appetizers served gradually. The presentation was nice and the glasses were elegant cut glass. On one occasion, when the color of the glass I was using for a refill matched the new glass brought to me, the server kindly said, "The colors are the same, let me bring you a different one," and changed the glass for me. Even though I had finished my drink, it made me happy. I had eaten lightly before coming to the restaurant, so I was quite satisfied with the appetizers, but I also ordered the Agedashi Tofu for 750 yen and the Sake-Steamed Cream Cheese for 500 yen. The aroma of the dashi in the Agedashi Tofu was irresistible. There were various types of sake available, and while you can choose for yourself, if you share your preferences, they will offer you a selection to try something new, which was great. I definitely want to come back.

I was curious about the place called "Wa Bar" and a friend told me it's a place where you can drink sake. So I decided to check it out. I started with a beer and the appetizer that came with it was delicious. So I decided to try some sake. The aroma of the sake went well with the food. I asked the owner for a recommendation or, in my case, checked the sake bottles in the fridge before ordering. When I asked the owner for the best dish to try that day, he suggested the chicken teriyaki. It was really delicious. For dessert, I had the steamed egg custard that I had decided on from the start. The aroma was irresistible. The owner and staff were very friendly and I had a great time there.

I visited this place for the second time on this day. I was satisfied with just the appetizers. (I ordered pickles and some light dishes though...)
