In September 2019, I revisited the Otaru Narutoya Tomakomai store, known for their "Onsen Tamago Curry." Despite simulating various interactions with the staff on the way to the restaurant, what came out was barely worthy of being called "Onsen Tamago" (lol). There was no debate with the staff about whether it was Onsen Tamago or raw egg, but it was just about passable as Onsen Tamago. But why did they even think of offering a menu item like "Onsen Tamago Curry"? Normally, I think a sunny-side-up curry is more common. As for the curry, I had it last time and as I mentioned in the previous review, it's a bit lacking in terms of portion size. The taste of the curry itself is not bad, but if the base is chicken curry, wouldn't it be better if there was a bit more chicken in it? Especially since the restaurant specializes in chicken dishes. Last time, I also had "Zangi" with the curry, but the portion was too much, so this time I tried ordering "Neck Karaage" for the first time. It was pretty much what I expected, but I thought it could use a bit more meat to eat. Frankly, it was mostly bones, and I was hoping for a bit more meat. So, if possible, I think it would be good if they sold "Zangi (5 pieces for 650 yen)" as a side menu item, limited to 1 piece per order. There must be people who want to eat Zangi even if they order other items. With 5 pieces for 650 yen, it would be 130 yen per piece, but they could also offer 4 pieces for 540 yen, 3 pieces for 420 yen, 2 pieces for 290 yen, and 1 piece for 150 yen. By the way, the store "Hare, Tokidoki Buta" in the food court on the second floor (https://tabelog.com/hokkaido/A0108/A010802/1056794/), operated by "Food Collect Co., Ltd." which also operates the Otaru Narutoya, has closed down its Tomakomai store following the closure of the main store in Otaru.
