I visited a certain Italian restaurant on a Saturday. I arrived at the restaurant a little after 11 am (opening hours are 11 am). I was the first customer. The restaurant is located in a residential area, occupying a corner of an apartment building. There is space to park a few cars in front of the restaurant (about 3 cars?). There are three staff members - a male chef and two female staff members supporting him. Additionally, a young male staff member joins from 12 pm. All the staff members provided friendly and personable service. The seating consists of all table seats, with a total of around 20 seats. There were two 2-person table seats available, which was great. It feels awkward to sit at a 4-person table alone (^-^; Towards the back of the restaurant, there is a kids' space commonly seen in dental clinics. Personally, the reason I started exploring and reviewing restaurants was because I used to aspire to be an Italian chef and started visiting various Italian restaurants for study purposes. Italian cuisine remains my top choice even now, but with the busyness of life, I haven't been able to visit Italian restaurants as often. This time, I visited an Italian restaurant after a long time for no particular reason, maybe because I got tired of the routine of noodles and curry. - Venison Ragout Pappardelle 1320 yen + A set 770 yen (Homemade ham and vegetable appetizer, Homemade dessert, Drink) - Soup: It was supposed to be carrot soup, but it looked like pumpkin soup. It was a light type, with a gentle sweetness of carrots. The olive oil on top gave that Italian vibe! - Focaccia bread: It was normal in taste. - Appetizer: Marinated herring from Otaru with vinegar. It was easy to eat without bones, and it was interesting to enjoy herring in this form. The burdock in the front had a hint of cinnamon flavor. The ham was mortadella and pancetta. The homemade pancetta had mostly fatty parts. I'm not a big fan of fatty parts, but this pancetta didn't have any unpleasant smell and melted smoothly in the mouth. It paired well with the refreshing flavor of wasabi sauce. Each appetizer showed the staff's meticulous work. - Venison Ragout Pappardelle: Venison has always had a good image for me, and it's indeed delicious meat. The tender venison was cooked well, with no sinew and the fibers coming apart in the mouth. Compared to other meats, it has less fat, making it healthier. However, it felt slightly dry. In my line of work, deer are considered pests. Hokkaido, in particular, has a high level of damage caused by deer. By enjoying deer meat in this way, I hope to indirectly contribute to the control of deer populations. The pappardelle had a good texture, which didn't get mushy even after some time. It was a proper pasta dish after a long time. I devoured it quickly. I should have ordered a large portion! - Dessert: The ice cream on top seemed to have yogurt and gooseberries. It had a good melt-in-your-mouth texture and a refreshing taste. The jelly at the bottom had a subtle muscat flavor. There was only one group of 4 customers besides me. With up to 4 staff members present, I wonder if Saturdays are usually busier. With such high-quality food, this restaurant should be more popular, especially being located in a residential area. I hope this wonderful Italian restaurant continues to thrive. One thing that caught my attention was that the prices were listed excluding tax.
