I recently started enjoying onigiri and often use it for lunch. I have tried almost all the varieties of onigiri from Donguri. Today, I had the most popular one, beef tendon, and the second most popular one, mentaiko cream cheese mayo. The beef tendon was soft and the mentaiko cream cheese had a rich cheese flavor with plenty of filling in both. They were delicious until the last bite. The eat-in space provides free cold tea and hot tea.

Handmade rice ball shop "Donburi" is located on the first floor of the commercial facility Le Trois directly connected to Odori Station. It is a rice ball shop in the Donburi series, popular as the originator of chikuwa bread in Sapporo. In addition to the classic salmon and plum flavors, the shop is known for its creative rice balls! You can take out or eat in. This time, I ate my favorite rice balls, one with prosciutto and camembert cheese, and the other with Iburi Gakko and cream cheese. The combination of Iburi Gakko and cream cheese, and prosciutto and camembert cheese, is a classic, but turning them into rice balls is a great idea. Both rice balls are seasoned with black pepper. Pepper and rice go well together, just like in the Edo period when pepper rice was popular. The pepper brings together the rice and Western-style ingredients beautifully, making it delicious! The rice balls are softly packed, with the nori (seaweed) being moist. The rice used in the rice balls is Nanatsuboshi from Hokkaido. The rice itself is delicious, providing a solid foundation for the rice balls. In addition to creative rice balls like Tanuki and mentaiko cream cheese, there are also side dishes like zangi, making it a fun rice ball shop. Overall, the flavors are a bit strong, but all the regular menu rice balls are delicious! On the other hand, the limited-time rice balls have a challenging spirit, with some hits and misses. Thank you for the meal.

In 2023/4, I revisited my home's easy series. I reused it as a sake appetizer and my daughter's dinner. "Don-guri" is a well-known shop in Sapporo, known for its origin of "chikuwa bread" and a variety of delicious side dish bread. Don-guri also has a shop that specializes in onigiri, and they always have creative onigiri that never get boring. The onigiri and side dish bread at Don-guri are always exciting with a variety of products, including limited edition side dish bread. It's always fun to see the different onigiri options available here. "Teritama musubi" 270 yen is an onigiri with egg salad and zangi sandwiched inside. It's a bit junky, but delicious. "Sakura sakusaku sakura shrimp" 260 yen has a hint of cooked-in flavor, and the sakura shrimp is fragrant and tasty. "Chiku-ten camembert" 220 yen and "zangi" 475 yen are often on our dining table. The chiku-ten made by Don-guri, the creator of chikuwa bread, is a large chikuwa with rich melted cheese, which is delicious. The zangi is also crispy and delicious. Don-guri is not only good with bread but also with onigiri and side dishes.

Just before expiration, I took a one-night, two-day trip to Hokkaido to use up my miles. It had been 4 years since I last visited Sapporo, and it seemed that many eateries had changed during that time. One notable change was in the onigiri industry. The "Arinko" shop at Sapporo Station, which I used to visit every time I came to Sapporo, had unexpectedly closed at the end of September last year. It was a flagship store for the chain, so it was disappointing. On the other hand, a new player in the industry that entered during these 4 years is this shop located in the commercial facility TROIS on Odori Street. It is an onigiri shop run by the famous chikuwa bread originator "Donguri". It seems they had already opened in 2020. At the strong request of my friend, who wanted to buy chikuwa bread, we discovered this shop near the bakery and decided to stop by. The shop had pre-made onigiri lined up on display, and you would pick one up and pay at the counter, similar to a bakery system. They had onigiri with tuna mayo, similar to the filling in the chikuwa bread hole, and chikuwa tempura, which gave it a distinct "Donguri" onigiri shop vibe. Among the various options, I purchased the "Donguri Tanuki" for 149 yen. It was an onigiri with rice seasoned with noodle soup base, mixed with green onions and ginger. I tried it as a late-night snack after drinking, and the ginger flavor was impressive and quite tasty. I had expected it to contain tenkasu (tempura scraps) since it was called "tanuki," but I couldn't confirm their presence. Nevertheless, as a big fan of onigiri, having more options like "Arinko," "Nigirimeshi" in Susukino, and Seicomart's Hot Chef is a welcome change. If I have the chance, I would like to try other varieties as well.

Sapporo's famous bakery, Don Guri, is also known for their onigiri shop where they invented the cheese katsuobushi onigiri. I tried the cheese okaka version and it was delicious, especially when lightly heated to make the cheese melt. It's a convenient setup to buy bread at Don Guri and onigiri at the neighboring shop. Additionally, Le Trois has an exciting area with amazing food. It was as delicious as always. Thank you for the meal!

Next to it, there is also a bakery, Donguri-san! Both the bread and onigiri are delicious and handmade on the spot...!! I got carried away and bought a lot lol. The mentaiko cream cheese onigiri is the best... I might end up buying more when I go on a trip again.

[Visit on October 11, 2022] <New Coronavirus> Has the "7th wave" peaked out!? Even with the reopening of schools after summer vacation, the number of infected people continues to decline. Before you know it, the temperature has dropped and it's already autumn!! I always buy a fish sandwich for breakfast at the crowded Donguri Odori store, and then I visit the neighboring store here. It is the only handmade rice ball shop run by Donguri. The small shop has a cash register and about 5 staff members making rice balls. It seems like it would cost quite a bit for labor. The top 3 popular choices and the manager's recommendations all look delicious, but I decide to go with the reliable and tasty cheese and plum rice balls. They are big, so one is enough for me. There are also counter seats for eating in, and you can have tea from a pot. When I woke up in the morning, my daughters had already eaten them all. They said it was delicious. Well, I have the fish sandwich from Donguri, and my partner has the Macadamia France from Buruku.

I was thinking of buying bread, but I was lured by the delicious smell of rice and decided to make onigiri instead. I purchased familiar flavors like mentaiko cream cheese, chicken tempura with yuzu pepper mayo, and shrimp tempura onigiri. Bread is delicious, but rice is also delicious! The fillings are the usual ones for donut-shaped bread, providing a sense of stability that I like. I think it's good to have onigiri once in a while.

I had been curious about it for a while. I had already had lunch but I thought about getting something light. The Tuna Mayo is the second most popular, and the best-selling Chikuwa bread with Tuna Mayo costs 416 yen for 2 pieces of Zangi. There is an eat-in space on the left side of the register where you can also drink cold tea. This is a hidden gem. The Tuna Mayo rice ball is generously filled with tuna mayo and the rice is just right, making it fluffy and easy to eat. It also has a good amount of volume. You can use the microwave to heat it up. It's so convenient. It was delicious.

On the way back home, I stopped by and bought 2 onigiri. The first one had a strong flavor of egg yolk and minced meat. The egg served as a binder between the rice and minced meat, creating a cohesive taste. The second one was made with kombu (kelp) and edamame, which is a household favorite. The combination of kombu and edamame was delicious. Donburi-san's onigiri are slightly larger in size, making them a satisfying meal. Thank you for the delicious food once again!

I went to Don Guri for lunch. It was a bit late for lunch, so unfortunately the pork miso soup was sold out, but I was able to enjoy delicious onigiri! They had onigiri inspired by Don Guri's bread, which was interesting, and it seems like you can also try Don Guri's zangi!

In May 2021, during my first visit to Sapporo, I visited a place called "Donkuri," which is said to be the first to make "chikuwa bread." Located next to "Donkuri" in "Le Trois," operated by Ainz, a new onigiri shop has opened. Since "Donkuri" is known for its deli bread, I expected the onigiri to have fillings like tuna mayo for the chikuwa bread. However, the onigiri here is surprisingly large and has a variety of options. The "Egg Yolk and Minced Meat" onigiri for 260 yen has a creamy egg yolk and rich minced meat flavor. It's very flavorful. The "Crispy Shrimp and Egg Salad Sandwich" for 350 yen features shrimp tempura and egg salad with sauce, creating a junk food-like taste. The "Smoked Cheese, Fish Cake, and Cheese Croquette" for 300 yen has smoked fish cake, cheese, and croquette on red rice, which is quite innovative. The "Chikuwa Tempura with Camembert" for 220 yen is a chikuwa tempura sandwich with camembert, perfect as a snack. On my second visit, I tried the "Zangi" for 380 yen, which is Donkuri's version of zangi, and it was delicious, much better than "En" (laughs). The "Smoked Fish Cake and Cream Cheese" onigiri for 250 yen was a standard choice. The "Tuna Mayo" onigiri for 220 yen was also a normal option. Even if it's just a quick deli purchase, the zangi and chikuwa tempura from here are tasty. I'll definitely be buying them again.

When I wanted to buy onigiri in April 2021, I remembered DONGURI-SAN's storefront with a sign saying "1 in 2 people is buying this Zangi!!" while feeling concerned. I purchased Chikuwa Tempura with Camembert Cheese for 220 yen. It's a long chikuwa with a core of Camembert cheese wrapped in seaweed-infused batter and deep-fried. Donguri-san's specialty is chikuwa, and it was delicious. I also tried Tanuki Onigiri for 160 yen, which had a nice combination of leeks and ginger. I'm curious about the "Iburi Gakko and Cream Cheese" combination, so I'll try it next time. Thank you for the meal! (^^♪

Arrived around 5 pm on a weekday. There were two customers already there. Located on the 1st floor of Le Trois in Odori West 1-chome, this place opened at the end of last year. I didn't know that the bakery "Donguri" next door had started selling rice balls. I like the bakery because they have a lot of oily and delicious deli bread. There were two staff at the register and about four in the kitchen. In addition to various rice balls, they also had a few deli items. Donguri is known for being the birthplace of the chikuwa bread. So, I bought the popular "Chikuwa Bread with Tuna Mayo" (220 yen) and the "Fried Chicken" (260 yen). When I got home and opened them, the rice ball had plenty of tuna mayo on top and inside. The familiar taste of Donguri's chikuwa bread was delicious! I heated up the fried chicken in the microwave. The outside was a bit crispy, but the inside was juicy and flavorful with a good amount of salt. It was satisfyingly delicious! Next time, I'll try the rice ball with the unusual ingredients of "Iburigakko and Cream Cheese" and the "Donguri Special Zangi".

Ainz wandered around. Oh, here it is, the acorn rice ball shop♪ Let's see, so many types of rice balls. It's hard to choose. Lately, I've been obsessed with making edamame rice balls, so I wonder how the pro ones taste like? I ordered: - Mentaiko cream cheese for 250 yen. It's filled with so much mentaiko and cream cheese! It's really delicious (laughs). Mentaiko lovers will love it♪ But if I eat this every day, I'll definitely gain weight. - Edamame seaweed for 180 yen. It tastes just like the ones I make at home. The edamame does a great job in this one (o^^o). It's delicious and tasty! It's so good that I want to try them all. This is a new business for Donburi-san. I think it's great^ - ^ Thank you for the meal (o^^o)

I finally visited a place I was curious about. They specialize in onigiri made with acorns. I've always wanted to try their rice balls since their bread is delicious. Their menu is not extensive, but this time I bought the "Salmon Belly" and "Mentaiko Cream Cheese" flavors. I will enjoy them at home. Both fillings go well with the rice and are tasty. However, the flavors are just average. I'd like to try a different flavor next time. Thank you for the meal!

I have been curious about this restaurant since it opened as a DONGURI fan and onigiri shop lover! I went for the great Chinese senbero deal and it was worth it. The mentaiko cream cheese French toast (excluding tax 232 yen) is popular, ranked No. 2. I love mentaiko French toast, so I knew the taste. It was delicious, of course! It goes well with onigiri too. The onigiri had plenty of fillings and was satisfying. Unlike the usual "made after ordering" style at onigiri shops, they have a pre-made style, but it's nice because you don't have to wait long to buy. The turnover is fast at this popular shop, so the onigiri was slightly warm. I also enjoyed the free tea in the eat-in area. I'm satisfied. I will definitely visit again! (*'ω'*)

Next to the "Donguri Oodoori" store is another shop. This time, I bought "Salmon Harami" (250 yen including tax) and "Tuna Mayo in Chikuwa Bread" (220 yen including tax) on my way home and ate them at home. Let's eat. The "Salmon Harami" had a mild saltiness and a good flavor with the rice. The "Tuna Mayo in Chikuwa Bread" was still greasy like the bread. The higher price compared to the bread is a bit concerning. Thank you for the meal.

I suddenly had to be hospitalized, but I was discharged unexpectedly. The hospital stay was supposed to be short-term, around one month, but I was discharged after about 20 days. The reason was that my condition improved and the hospital beds were getting crowded due to reservations. The person in the same room as me was also discharged suddenly for the same reasons. I will gradually reply to comments on reviews while monitoring my health. I plan to gradually resume commenting on everyone's reviews. I have a hospitalization scheduled for the end of the year, but the timing is uncertain due to the pandemic. Thank you for your continued support. After returning home from the hospital, I immediately headed to department stores like Mitsukoshi Sapporo. However, I was quite tired from the hospital stay, so I rested for a while after returning home. When I finally opened my computer after three weeks, I had a mountain of emails waiting for me. From Tabelog, I received notifications about deleting registered reviews and winning the Reviewer Award 2021 Bronze. I had given up on winning in 2020 due to being hospitalized for two months, so winning two years in a row was unexpected. I am grateful for everyone's support. "Tezukuri Omusubi no Mise Donburi" is a specialty store for handmade rice balls. It opened in the stylish commercial facility "Le Trois" on November 25, 2020. It is the first store other than the popular bakery "Donburi Oodori-ten" in Sapporo. It has been featured in local media. I often buy the "Kushi Zangi limited to Aso store" at the bakery "Donburi." Here, they sell packed "Zangi." I bought the "Donburi Special Zangi 4 pieces." The "Donburi Special Zangi 4 pieces" is crispy and of the same quality as a specialty store. The price is reasonable at 380 yen (tax included). It is convenient as it comes in a pack, although the "Kushi Zangi limited to Aso store" is more convenient as it doesn't dirty your hands or plate. It can also be used as a plate, so it depends on your needs. Next time, I might try the rice balls. Thank you for the delicious meal.
