Big old man and wandering around the city... I came all the way from Higashi Ward near Aso, for what purpose? Probably to see frogs, right? There are about three parking spaces in front of the store. When you enter the store, you'll see two catchy decorations near the entrance that are painfully perfect for two old guys. Pretending not to see, they move towards the back. The store's concept clearly targets young girls, with "cute~♡" and high school students taking pictures with their high-pitched voices. The fairytale-like atmosphere seems to fit perfectly. The big old man, looking uncomfortable, sits on a two-seater table chair. The cute atmosphere of the store can be confirmed in the photos. And if you listen carefully, you can hear a constant chirping sound. At first, I thought the big old man was humming, but it seems different. In fact, they breed and sell frogs in the back of the store, and that chirping sound was from the frogs. Don't underestimate frogs... The prices are surprisingly high at 20,000, 30,000, and 40,000 yen, with poisonous and colorful appearances that you've never seen before. This is fun. The order was "French toast @880", "Einshpener @385 (set price)", "Hot coffee @440". The coffee had a strong flavor with plenty of beans, leading with bitterness, followed by a mild sweetness and acidity. The French toast, which I shared, tasted like it had been prepared the day before, with a mild sweetness and a good buttery flavor. The unfamiliar "Einshpener" is a drink originating from Austria, made by adding the same amount of whipped cream to coffee. The big old man drank it with a white mouth (just kidding). I recommend this place to young girls, couples, or anyone interested in frogs. Thank you for the meal.

Opened on October 22, 2022, visited on January 27, 2023. Why did we travel all the way from Asao to Fukuzumi, which took an hour, the old man next to me grumbled, haha. The reason is that even though it's been three months since the opening, there's still a lack of information, so I was curious about DEN Cafe. I found out why it's called DEN Cafe once I entered the store. In architectural terms, "DEN" means a small room, a hobby room, a hidden room, etc., and the interior of this place feels like a hobby room. It's a very cute interior, and it seems like the old man next to me might get banned (lol). We ordered the French toast for 880 yen and an Einspanner for 550 yen as a set. When you order a set, the drink is 275 yen extra, so it's actually 275 yen off. Do you get it? The French toast was fluffy and creamy, very delicious, but it's 880 yen with fruits and whipped cream. On the other hand, the Einspanner drink is something I've never heard of before. I looked it up, and it seems to be a Viennese coffee. It's a cream to prevent the coffee from cooling down, so having it iced is kind of unconventional, but it's more visually appealing, right? Now, I thought this cute interior was all about hobbies, but I was completely wrong! This place actually sells and breeds colorful poison dart frogs. It truly is a hobbyist's world. The frogs were inside glass enclosures, but they were difficult to photograph, so I didn't get a good shot. But they are priced at over 40,000 yen each. So, whether you enjoy eating and drinking in the cute interior or go see the poisonous frogs, it's all about personal preference and hobbies (lol).
