I got an assortment of bite-sized arare called Buson Shunju. The package contains 8 arare in the shapes of plum, snow, autumn leaves, full moon, hexagon, and square. There are 8 different flavors: sugar, aosa seaweed, kelp, nori seaweed, nori roll, shrimp, sesame, and salad. They pay attention to the quality of the nori and use Yamauchiya Nori's Ariake Nori in the arare. They are all easy to eat in one bite, with refreshing flavors that don't linger in your mouth. While they are tea snacks, they are more suitable for gifts.

I went to Sapporo. I bought some souvenirs for acquaintances, but ended up eating them myself because I forgot to give them. It was my first time trying them. There were two types available - one with the same kind of senbei and one with a variety of flavors. I bought the one with several flavors for 1000 yen plus 80 yen tax. My in-laws always give us senbei from Ogurasanso every year at the end of the year, so I can't help but compare them. Both are delicious, but I slightly prefer Ogurasanso (Ebimygetsu and Hanammygetsu). If you ask me what the difference is, I can't really answer. (laughs) I might want to try comparing them in the future. However, there are some flavors of senbei from Ogurasanso that I don't like (like sansho pepper or tough shrimp), but the set I bought this time was all delicious and there was no flavor I disliked. Not having a flavor I dislike might mean that I won't get tired of them even after eating them for a long time. The fragrance of Aonori was mild, and it was much tastier than similar senbei from Ogurasanso. Is the secret of its deliciousness the Nori from Shimanto River? But when I read carefully, it turned out that the Nori from Shimanto River was only 20% of the ingredients. (laughs) The Tamba black bean okaki and Kiridachino were a bit too salty. They have a good shelf life and are light, so they would make good souvenirs. But considering that they are quite bulky for the price (laughs), it might be worth considering that aspect as well. It turns out that Ogurasanso, Busonan, and Ujishikibu are all under the same parent company. I was imagining something like "Wakasaimo and Wakasakoi" or "Ippei and Ippei" but... I'm disappointed... In April 2013, Kyoto's Rokkakudo Buson-an is a specialty store for rice crackers. They sell rice crackers and senbei. The main store is located in Kyoto, and they have expanded their stores mainly in department stores. In the Kanto and northern regions, this is the only store of its kind. This store is located in the JR Sapporo Station area in Chuo-ku, Sapporo, on the basement floor of Sapporo Tokyu Department Store. For detailed location information, please check on Tabelog. They have a variety of options, so I was a bit indecisive. I chose a snack that offers a wide variety. I made the purchase. - Arare Jugi Tsurane Uta These are bite-sized rice crackers and senbei, with 4 to 5 pieces in each small bag. They are made using 100% domestically grown rice and mochi rice. In one bag, you can taste 10 different flavors: 1. Nori 2. Aosa seaweed 3. Shrimp 4. Honey 5. Purple sweet potato 6. Salad 7. Black soybean 8. Soy sauce 9. Black pepper 10. Black sesame Each bag contains 95g, and this time I bought 43 bags for 525 yen. Each flavor has a common, down-to-earth taste. Since they are bite-sized, they are very easy to eat. It's very pleasing to be able to easily enjoy 10 different flavors at an affordable price. These rice crackers go well with hojicha or genmaicha. Personally, my top 3 flavors are aosa seaweed, shrimp, and soy sauce. Japanese snacks have a calming effect. With many reasonably priced, everyday use products, Buson-an is an easy store to shop at. I received this snack when I was at my parents' house. It was good to have something to eat when I felt a little hungry. I don't usually buy snacks like this for myself, but it's nice to receive them and enjoy them like this. The person who gave it to me seems to always give this snack. I think it's nice when someone decides what to give as a gift.

The end of the year is here, and I've been receiving gifts almost every day. This time, I received some snacks from the Bokuraku-an in Kyoto. They have a variety of snacks like arare and senbei, which are great with beer. There's also a shrimp-flavored snack that has a surprisingly strong shrimp taste. It's soft and would be perfect as a salad topping. While it's good, it may not be the best beer snack. Overall, the snacks are delicious, but some are better suited as tea snacks rather than beer accompaniments.

I received a condolence gift from the president of my company, and the wrapping paper had a beautiful illustration of Buson. It turns out that it is a famous painting. The gift contained mini rice crackers in eight different flavors, including nori seaweed rolls, aosa seaweed, salad, kombu seaweed, sugar, sesame, nori seaweed, and shrimp. According to the pamphlet, my favorite was the nori seaweed rolls made with high-quality Ariake nori. The nori was crispy and the rice crackers had a satisfying crunch. The variety of flavors and textures, from the soft salad to the sweet sugar, kept it interesting. The mini size and cute appearance added to the enjoyment.
