After finishing work, I met up at Odori and took a taxi to Susukino. I got off the car in front of Susukino Kaikan in Minami 7-jo and went up the stairs to the second floor of a building that showed signs of aging. The popular restaurant, "Croquio," located on the outskirts of Tanukikoji, is run by a chef who used to work at "France Sakaba Tuef." The place was small with a counter of 10 seats and two 4-seater tables. The female chef, who trained at a famous restaurant in Tanukikoji, was handling everything alone. I sat at a 2-seater table and ordered a beer. For food, I ordered the grilled tsubu with herb butter for 1,300 yen, penne arrabbiata for 1,000 yen, and warm vegetables with tapenade for 900 yen. The grilled tsubu with herb butter had a good texture and the basil-flavored sauce complemented it well. The tapenade, made with black olives, was a light dressing that went well with the warm vegetables like potatoes, sweet potatoes, red sweet potatoes, baby corn, and radishes. The penne arrabbiata was al dente and lightly seasoned, which I personally liked, but others might find it too mild. I had a third glass of white and red wine, both of which had a good, easy-to-drink taste. The dishes at Croquio felt different from those at Croquio, and I felt there was room for improvement in terms of flavor. The bill came to around 7,000 yen after an hour and a half. I will visit again after some time. Thank you for the meal.
