From Otaru to Sapporo. Another new place for me. Checked into the hotel and then strolled around Susukino. But in Hokkaido, the sunset is ridiculously early, by 4:30 it's already dark! Oh, is that the Nikka guy? Some people are taking commemorative photos in front of the sign. Now, heading to the highly recommended Aji no Hitsuji-ga-Oka restaurant. As I approached the restaurant, I overheard someone saying, "It's rare to see no line." Nervously entered the restaurant. There are counter seats and table seats, and it's almost full. Luckily, there was one seat available for my companion and me. Finally, the Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) is here! They only have two types: shoulder loin and leg. Ordered two servings of loin and one serving of leg. Of course, cheers with Sapporo Classic beer! I love Sapporo beer and it's a must in Hokkaido! The charcoal grill is brought over. On top of it, a cast iron pot with vegetables already on it. This is it! Genghis Khan must be served in a cast iron pot! The meat arrives. It has a beautiful color. According to the staff, it's best to eat it slightly red. Arrange the meat and wait for it to cook. Alright, time to eat! It's made from specially selected raw lamb, and I was amazed! I've never had such tender, juicy, and non-smelly lamb before! Especially the sweet taste of the loin fat. The Sapporo beer is going down smoothly! The onions, cabbage, and bean sprouts soaked in meat juices somehow taste incredibly delicious. Are Hokkaido vegetables really that good? This was the best Genghis Khan I've ever had in my life! As I finished eating, I looked outside and saw... a line forming! What perfect timing! While I may not be able to visit Hokkaido often, I will definitely come back! Thank you for the feast!

It was great! The lamb meat was tender and without any unpleasant smell. The leg meat in particular was meaty like harami (skirt steak), and not greasy, which I personally liked. The sauce to go with it was also delicious. It was nice to have unlimited vegetables. I will definitely go again.

Searched online and seems quite famous. Waited about 40 minutes from arriving at the restaurant to being seated. Initially, various vegetables were served, but after that, only bean sprouts were available for refills. The meat was tender and tasty without any unpleasant smell, but I might not come back if there's a long line.

I entered the restaurant right after it opened at 12 o'clock. It was already almost full, but I was able to sit at the counter. I ordered Classic draft beer and grilled chicken thigh and shoulder. The shoulder had a little fat, but the meat itself had a good texture. The thigh was lean and slightly thick, but tender with a delicious flavor. It came with bean sprouts, cabbage, and onions, and the fact that you could get seconds was a nice touch. It's great for enjoying a meal by yourself.

Even though it was a regular day, there was a wait of 6-7 groups ahead of us, so we waited for over 30 minutes. It was hot and tough, but it was worth the wait. I wasn't a big fan of daruma, so I didn't have high expectations, but it was really delicious. I ordered the loin, shoulder, thigh, and hormone! The shoulder was a little tough, but the loin and thigh were really delicious, I would definitely order them again! The hormone had a slight odor and was so-so. It was cheap and incredibly delicious, so I want to go back again, but the staff's attitude was a bit off, maybe because they were busy.

I visited the restaurant at night. There were about 3 groups ahead of us, and we were seated in about 15-20 minutes. I had the lamb cooked rare, and it was delicious with no gamey taste. It was my first time trying Genghis Khan in Hokkaido, and it was so good that it changed my perception. I will definitely come back again!

When it comes to Hokkaido, it's all about Genghis Khan! There are a lot of Genghis Khan restaurants in Susukino, and every place was packed with customers. Among them, I visited this restaurant. Although it's a two-story building, they are currently only operating on the first floor due to staff shortage. They have counter seats, as well as tables for 2 and 4 people. The menu only had lamb loin, shoulder, and lamb sausages, but all of them were delicious with no gaminess and rich in flavor. It was my first time trying Genghis Khan, but it was so tasty and I left the restaurant feeling satisfied!

The sauce here is addictive, and every time I go to Sapporo, I make sure to visit. The more I eat Genghis Khan elsewhere, the more I realize how delicious Yagai Oka is. Highly recommended! The prices are reasonable, and you can eat all the vegetables you want. Nothing to complain about! If you're heading to Susukino, be sure to visit at least once. ♫

I visited on a holiday night. There were about 10 people waiting in line ahead of me, and I had to wait quite a while before getting inside. There were mostly counter seats, with only a few table seats available. I tried the lamb leg, lamb shoulder, and lamb shank. The difference between the shoulder and shank was interesting. I lined up outside the restaurant at 7th place at 7:00 PM on Saturday. I was seated at 7:20 PM. I ordered the lamb loin (1st piece) for 950 yen, which was tender and had a good texture. The lamb sausage for 600 yen didn't have a strong lamb flavor. I also had kimchi pickles for 330 yen, a highball for 450 yen, and rice for 200 yen. The shoulder loin (2nd piece) for 980 yen was more tender and flavorful than the lamb loin. When you chew it, the umami comes out. I also had cola for 220 yen and oolong tea for 220 yen. The shoulder loin was better than the lamb loin. Daruma is tastier.

Jingisukan at Aji no Hitsuji-ga-oka in Susukino. Starting from the right, there's shoulder loin, thigh meat, lamb shoulder... So, is this lamb shoulder what they call Jingisukan? Sapporo trip famous Genghis Khan, the ladder from Daruma is a laugh. Personally, I was shocked by how touristy Daruma was (glad I didn't go) so I went to my favorite place during my time in Sapporo. This place is definitely better. The meat is tender, the sauce is to my liking, and it's 30% cheaper than Daruma. I'll definitely come back here again.

I visited Hokkaido and went to the Maruyama Zoo in the morning, then moved to Susukino. I searched for a Genghis Khan restaurant for lunch and found one that opened at noon. When I arrived at around 11:50, there were already a few groups of customers waiting in line. The restaurant opened at 12:00 and we were seated at a table for four. The menu was simple, with three types of lamb meat, hormone, and sausage, as well as kimchi, chanja, and rice. We ordered one serving each of the three types of lamb meat - leg, shoulder, and shank. The meat was cooked on a charcoal grill with vegetables, and we dipped it in a sauce before eating. The raw lamb meat had a good texture and juiciness, with a unique flavor that was delicious. The sauce was spicy but complemented the meat well without overpowering its flavor. The restaurant was run by three older women who efficiently managed the busy establishment. The food was tasty, reasonably priced, and worth waiting in line for.

In Tokyo, as a beginner who has only eaten Genghis Khan a few times in the past, I visited this restaurant during a business trip to Sapporo. A friend who works at a travel agency recommended it to me, saying it was not far from my accommodation and good for solo dining. The setting of the grill and Genghis Khan pot caught my eye as I enjoyed the cold beer to refresh myself from the heat. I laid out the vegetables on the pot, placed the thick slices of meat on top, and waited for them to cook. When the meat was ready, I dipped it in sauce and savored the delicate flavor with a hint of lamb aroma. I continued to cook and eat the other meats, alternating between bites and sips of beer. As I reached my limit, I finished with two portions of meat and two beers, feeling satisfied with the delicious meal. I ordered Genghis Khan lamb shoulder, Genghis Khan lamb leg, limited quantity lamb shoulder, pork hormone, lamb sausage, kimchi, chanja, and rice. I also had the Hokkaido limited edition Sapporo Classic beer (which was delicious). The meat was tender and had no odor. It's best not to overcook it. The lamb sausage is best when grilled crispy. The delicious lamb meat paired perfectly with the Sapporo Classic beer. It's light and easy to eat. I would love to visit again when I'm in Sapporo. Thank you for the meal.

I couldn't get in the day before because of the long line, but I was able to enter as the second customer by lining up before opening the next day. Today's dinner was at Genghis Khan restaurant "Ajino Higashiyama," a place I visit 2 out of 3 times when I come to Sapporo. It's located just a short walk from Susukino intersection, and it's my favorite Genghis Khan in Sapporo. I ordered the lamb shoulder, lamb sausage, and 2 highballs. The meat was served on a bed of vegetables, and I grilled the shoulder and sausage myself. The meat was tender and delicious, and the sauce was flavorful. The highballs were a bit weak, but overall, I highly recommend this restaurant!
