At 10:30 in the afternoon, no dining halls were open nearby, so I searched for one that was open. It was my first time at Yoshinoya, and the staff explained their system to me in a friendly manner. First, I chose my meal from the menu, paid in advance using PayPay, and then ordered the Teppan Gyudon set meal for 712 yen as recommended by the staff at the reception. I was very hungry, so I ordered a regular portion of rice.

The beef at Matsuya seems to be slightly thicker and more substantial compared to Yoshinoya. The taste is different, and I can't quite recall the flavor of Yoshinoya. It's not bad tasting, but ordering at the counter can be confusing and rushed. Also, there are no condiments like water and pickled ginger on the table, and you have to clean up after yourself. It's my first visit, so I'm not familiar with how things work here, but in terms of service, Yoshinoya is definitely better.

Recently, I haven't had much of an appetite... Just kidding, I'm actually quite hungry. It's still before lunchtime, but I'm heading to Yoshinoya. I'm ordering a breakfast beef bowl. When asked about the side dish, I pointed to the menu photo of a soft-boiled egg, but I should have gone with pickled vegetables. Here it comes. It's self-service. Everything is self-service here. This is my second time eating in the restaurant, so I know how things work, but it feels a bit off. It's like eating a beef bowl at McDonald's. I just can't seem to like it, and the table feels a bit high, or maybe the chairs are low. Something just doesn't feel right. Let's dig in. This is Yoshinoya's beef bowl. But is there something different about it? It's slightly reminiscent of Sukiya. I thought Yoshinoya's beef had a stronger flavor, but it's easy to eat. It seems like they've added more menu options as well, which is not bad. Overall, not bad. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Yoshinoya Kushiro Tottori Odori store for the first time! It was a bit late for breakfast. When I arrived, I noticed they have a drive-thru option as well. The exterior of the store looks completely different from the usual Yoshinoya. Inside, it feels more like a café. You place your order, pay, and then pick it up to sit wherever you like. Chopsticks and pickled ginger are provided in a designated area. I ordered the Morning Beef Set - regular size beef bowl with pickled ginger for 459 yen including tax. The beef bowl had the same gentle flavor as always and was delicious. The onions were surprisingly large. I chose pickled ginger as my side dish, and it was a good amount. This was my first time experiencing this type of Yoshinoya, and since there is only one place to order, it might get crowded during lunch hours. It may not be the best option if you're in a hurry. I think the regular Yoshinoya format is more convenient. Thank you for the meal!

Visit date November 22, 2020. Yoshinoya has always been crowded since it opened, so I haven't been able to visit. On this day, if it was still crowded, we planned to go to another restaurant after discussing it with my companion. Around 20:45, there were only 2-3 groups of customers, so my companion and I decided to go in. We ordered: - Regular Gyudon (beef bowl) for 352 yen - Large Gyudon for 522 yen - A Set for 148 yen, with miso soup change for an additional 90 yen each. Yoshinoya's Gyudon had a slightly sour taste, typical of the restaurant. Hmm, maybe it's been a while, but it feels like there's not much meat in it? The sauce in the bowl was also a bit lacking. We changed the A Set to clam soup and clam miso soup. The salad dressing was Japanese-style, and the salad was a bit dry. The clam soup had an odd ratio of clam shells to actual clams. The miso soup was decently tasty. This modern Yoshinoya store has self-serve water, which is convenient, but it would be better if they provided red pickled ginger and shichimi (Japanese spice blend) on the tables. It's a bit inconvenient for everyone to use the same condiments. Thank you for the meal.

The first impression is that it's cheap! I ordered the Stamina Super Special Donburi for 798 yen. My partner got the Beef Sukiyaki Set, regular size, for 648 yen. We paid at the register and then waited for our food with a pager system. The interior of the restaurant is clean and has a cafe-like atmosphere. After about 10 minutes, our pagers buzzed and we went to pick up our dishes. My partner's sukiyaki set looked delicious and well-presented. My Stamina Super Special Donburi was loaded with fried garlic, chicken, pork, and beef, with a raw egg on top. I found it easier to eat with a spoon due to the generous amount of sauce. The chicken was tender, pork was average, and the beef was delicious. The crispy fried garlic added a nice touch to the dish. Mixing the raw egg with the sauce and rice created a smooth and flavorful taste. I wish I had ordered extra rice because it was so tasty. My partner also seemed satisfied. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you!

This time, I didn't drink beer. It's against my own rules, but they had beer on the menu so I'll mention it. The new Yoshigyu opened and I was curious about it. The interior is like a cafe or a food court, depending on how you look at it. I ordered the W set meal with fried chicken and beef bowl. When you order, they give you a buzzer to notify you. Drinks are self-serve at the drink bar. You can also order canned beer. My buzzer went off. I picked up my order at counter 2. Chopsticks, condiments, etc. are all self-serve at the drink bar counter. The fried chicken was hot and fresh, which was great. The beef bowl had the classic Yoshinoya taste. Next time, I might try something like the fried horse mackerel that they didn't have before. I also wish they had non-alcoholic beer at the drink bar. This week's night shift ends today. I'll be going on a trip starting tomorrow. See you later.

The restaurant was closed when I arrived late at night, so I just had something simple and delicious.

The set meal with salmon and beef, salad, and miso soup was delicious. It's great that you can get a free extra serving of rice.

The curry at Lou feels like a high-end retort. The beef kalbi meat is of supermarket quality. Well, it was tastier than the curry at "Sukiya."

I was feeling lonely after the Yoshinoya in Katsura Town closed down, so it's great to see it make a comeback. The new location is across from Marugame Seimen. Unlike before, the style here doesn't prioritize dining in, possibly as a post-COVID measure. Condiments and drinks are consolidated. This is my third visit, and this time I purposely ordered the regular beef bowl for 387 yen. Compared to Sukiya, the beef here lacks tenderness, and the bowl seems slightly smaller. It might be satisfying for women, but will it be enough for men? Also, while it's nice to have phone chargers at the counter, I wonder why there's no WIFI available. Sukiya has it, even if it's only for SoftBank users. Can't they provide free WIFI for differentiation, even for a small, independently-owned ramen shop? I'm sorry for all the criticism, but I believe they put thought into their reopening strategy, so I have high hopes.
