On the 4th floor of the Joyful Sakana Small Street Building in Susukino, there is a teppanyaki restaurant, which may be rare in Sapporo. The building looks old but the interior is clean. It seems to have been renovated several times. The chef, who honed his skills at hotels in Otaru, serves a set menu style, perfect for those who don't want a heavy meal after drinking. I requested a red wine pairing and they made a dish with tomato sauce based on that. The Sakura Tai Munier was delicious, even the skin was tasty. The salad had fresh vegetables with salted kelp, simple but delicious. The asparagus bacon dish was a perfect match. The potatoes with anchovy sauce had a nice combination of saltiness and sweetness. The new burdock and beef tendon dish was incredibly tender. The sirloin and fillet of Shiraoi beef were not too oily and very tasty. The hojicha and vanilla ice cream was a refreshing dessert after the meat. You can choose between red tea or coffee after the meal, I chose red tea. Overall, the food was delicious and the owner's conversation was engaging. The restaurant has a high-end feel, similar to those in Ginza or Roppongi, so it may seem expensive to locals in Sapporo. However, I think it's a great place for special occasions like anniversaries. Plus, you might even get some extra attention from others, haha.
