On a day off, I went on an expedition to take photos of Poké lids in the northern part of Hokkaido. On the way back, I decided to take a break in Asahikawa and found this place while looking for somewhere to stop. The shop is located in a corner of Asahikawa Ramen Village. I quickly checked the menu and decided to order the Oshiruko (sweet red bean soup) parfait. It had plenty of soft serve ice cream, white dumplings, and sweet red bean paste all together in one parfait. The soft serve ice cream had a refreshing and light sweetness to it. It seems like soft serve ice cream in the northern region tends to be on the lighter side. The smooth and not overly sweet red bean paste paired well with the soft serve ice cream. The white dumplings had a nice chewy texture. It was a delicious parfait, and I would like to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

After getting Pokefuta at Shibe, on the way back passing through Asahikawa, I checked out a shop in Kunneppu Town that uses milk for their soft serve ice cream!!! I got all excited in the passenger seat with a shrill voice (please stop). They use milk from Farm Hill Oda in Kunneppu Town. They seem to be very particular about their ingredients and it looks good for your health (I saw it on Instagram). The shop is called TUMUGI Parfait, and they serve it with a wooden spoon (maybe because it's a paper cup, so you don't have to separate it when throwing it away, which is convenient). But I have a bit of a history with wooden spoons cutting my mouth once, so I'm not a fan of them haha. The soft serve ice cream has a high milk fat content and a rich flavor, almost like heavy cream. It's not too sweet and has a refreshing aftertaste, so you can enjoy it without getting tired of it. The toppings are pistachio, nuts, and white dumplings, but I felt like adding something extra to complement the soft serve. Since the soft serve itself is rich, maybe it would have been better just on its own without any toppings... haha. If there was red bean paste (anko) in it, I think it would have paired well with the white dumplings, but white dumplings, milk, and nuts all have mild flavors that kind of blend together and didn't suit my taste. The soft serve itself was delicious, so next time, I might just go for the regular soft serve. I'm glad I got to try it this time! Thank you, wu-ta-san!!!! (((orz

"TUMUGI" is a soft serve ice cream shop that opened in the Ramen Village in Asahikawa. Despite the limited number of new openings in the city, this shop was one of the few that caught my attention. The parking lot was full, and the ramen shops nearby were also crowded. It seems like Asahikawa, especially the Ramen Village, is slowly regaining its energy. While there weren't many Japanese tourists during peak hours, there was a bus full of non-Japanese visitors who headed straight to the Ramen Village. The shop's soft serve ice cream, priced at 400 yen, is described as premium and comes in a smooth and creamy texture. Although the sweetness may be a bit overwhelming, the ice cream was delicious and served in a waffle cone that added a touch of luxury. Overall, it was a satisfying experience.

On this day off, I decided to cook and have a home party with my companion. We went to Nagayama Powers to buy ingredients. After shopping, we visited a new shop that opened on February 1st in Asahikawa Ramen Village. It was a soft serve ice cream shop that uses fresh milk to make their "extra rich" soft serve ice cream. The Ramen Village was quite crowded during the day, seems like there are more tourists visiting lately, which is a good thing. We bought tickets from the vending machine for "Shiruko Soft Serve" (600 yen) and "Espresso Affogato" (600 yen). We got a free topping with a coupon, so we added macadamia nuts to the Shiruko Soft Serve. The soft serve ice cream was delicious, with a rich and creamy texture, and a hint of milk flavor. It paired well with the bottom part of the cup which had Shiruko and the red bean paste on top. My companion's Espresso Affogato also had a nice espresso aroma. I tried a bite and it was a great combination with the soft serve ice cream. At first, I was surprised to find a soft serve ice cream shop in a ramen village, but it turned out to be a perfect dessert after having ramen. The staff was also very friendly and provided good service!

The soft serve ice cream shop that used to be at Sannaraido Obihiro has now moved to Asahikawa! It's located in a corner of the bustling Asahikawa Ramen Village, and they offer soft serve starting from 400 yen. I couldn't decide, so I went all out and got the full topping: TUMUGI parfait for 550 yen, topped with macadamia nuts, pistachios, and 3 white balls. I also added red bean paste for 100 yen. They have a promotion where you get one free topping if you follow them on Instagram and post. I forgot to take a picture of the shop, but there was a sign that said "Namaranoukou" and eating it, surprisingly, it was not too heavy. I was expecting it to be rich because of the high milk fat content in the cream, but to me, it tasted like pure milk with a mild sweetness that doesn't get boring. The smooth texture was delicious. The red bean paste was a perfect match for the not-too-rich soft serve. The staff were polite, and I heard they will have seasonal toppings like strawberries in March, which I'd like to try too.
