I visited the restaurant for the second time and decided to try their special salt ramen for 1500 yen. This time, the menu had changed a bit and the ramen had a different taste compared to my previous visit. The soup was now more flavorful with a nice balance of saltiness and a gentle chicken flavor. The noodles were silky and had a hint of sweetness from the wheat. The topping also changed to duck chashu, making it a bit more luxurious. Overall, my impression of the restaurant improved and I will consider revisiting in the future.

Every year, I go to Shin-Okubo for a health check-up, and after finishing the check-up, I always crave for meat. So, I decided to look for a yakiniku restaurant nearby this time and specifically searched for a popular restaurant. Shin-Okubo is known for its diverse range of cuisines, especially Korean cuisine. After finishing the check-up at 10 in the morning, I felt like my stomach was not feeling well, probably due to the barium test, and I wanted to find a clean restroom nearby. I thought about walking to the high-rise buildings in Shinjuku to find a restaurant, and that's when I stumbled upon this restaurant in Nishi-Shinjuku. I arrived at the restaurant around 10:30, but it was still closed. Feeling unwell, I decided to head to Sumitomo Building. Later, I returned to the restaurant around 11 am and found a line already formed. I ordered the "Tori Paitan Shio Ramen" for 1200 yen. The restaurant opened exactly at 11 am, and I handed my food ticket to a female staff member and sat at the counter. The operation was being run by three Asian staff members, which I found to be quite international for a Japanese ramen shop. The Tori Paitan broth was clear and the noodles from Sugano Seimen were well-cooked. The chashu was also delicious. The broth was tasty and the noodles were smooth. While eating the noodles, I was reminded of a ramen shop I visited in Niigata. I find Shio Ramen to be challenging compared to other types like Shoyu or Tonkotsu, but this restaurant did a good job with it. The portion size for the price of 1200 yen seemed a bit small, but it might be due to the quality of ingredients used. Overall, the restaurant was decent, and I would recommend it for a simple and satisfying meal, especially after drinking. I might not choose to visit again unless there is a specific reason. Next time, I would like to try their Shoyu Ramen.

After finishing work, I decided to have ramen, and I came to "Menya Shou," which has been selected as a top 100 ramen shop multiple times! It was around 8 pm on a Friday night and there were four of us, so I was worried if we could all get in, but we were able to enter right away! As soon as we entered, there was a ticket machine to purchase our meal tickets. This time, I ordered the Chicken Chashu Shio Ramen for ¥1400. Although I initially wanted to try the most popular Chicken Special Shio Ramen, I'm not a fan of eggs, so I opted for the other option. There was also a limited edition menu item, "Chicken and Scallop Cold Ramen." I felt that the prices were a bit higher compared to other ramen shops. There were paper aprons, black pepper, and shichimi pepper placed on the table. The ramen arrived in about 10 minutes after we sat down! First, I tried the soup, which was rich in flavor with a strong chicken taste throughout. Personally, I found it incredibly delicious! The noodles were thin and slightly soft, and I couldn't stop slurping them up! The meat was tender and simply delicious! After finishing the meal, I thought that it was definitely worth the price. It's also great that you can buy an extra serving of noodles for ¥150 each! I will definitely go back when I want to treat myself a little!

It seems to be a ramen shop famous for cup noodles. I visited around 8 o'clock and there were about 2 customers already there. There were two foreign staff members. I ordered a 1500 yen ramen, which had a light taste and delicious soup. However, considering the price of 1500 yen, I'm not sure if I would visit again.

For today's lunch, I went to Menya Sho in Nishishinjuku 7-chome! I've been curious about this place for a while because there always seems to be a line when I pass by. I visited at 12:30 today and was able to get in easily, so I decided to give it a try! This main branch in Nishishinjuku is known for its focus on the umami of chicken. I debated between getting ramen or tsukemen, but when I looked at the ticket machine, both options were priced at over 1,500 yen. Well, it's Shinjuku, so if it's delicious, I'm okay with it, but still...I placed my order ⭐︎ Special Rich Tsukemen 1,650 yen The noodles were thick whole wheat noodles, the dipping soup was a rich chicken white broth, and the chashu consisted of two types: rare chicken ham and spicy steamed chicken breast. The richness and deliciousness were worth the price, especially the dipping soup which was probably the most delicious chicken tsukemen broth I've ever had. It was like the chicken white broth soup used in high-end Chinese restaurants, thick and full of flavor. I made sure to finish every last drop of the soup. If I had to nitpick, I would say that having just one slice of chicken ham and reducing the price a bit would have been even better, but considering how delicious the dipping soup was, it's understandable. After eating, I looked it up and found out that Menya Sho seems to have different concepts for each of their branches, such as Menya Sho Minato which uses sea bream broth, and they even have a shop specializing in miso ramen. This main branch has been selected as one of the top 100 ramen shops in Tokyo for a long time. Sometimes even if a shop is chosen as a top 100, it may not match my preferences, but this time I was satisfied with the taste. On my way out, I noticed that everyone around me was eating salt ramen or soy sauce ramen instead of tsukemen. When it gets a little cooler, I'll come back to try those too. #Ramen #lunch #Shinjuku #Nishishinjuku #Menya #ramenlover #top100ramenshops #chickenwhitesoup #tsukemen #rameninstagrammer #ramenpatrol #ramenclub #ramenlove #ramenenthusiast #ramengram #ramenaddict #ramenreview #ramenlife #ramenjunkie #ramenphotography #ramenblog #ramenadventures #foodreview #foodphotography #foodblog #foodie #foodlover #foodadventures #foodgram #foodporn #foodgasm #foodstagram

During the day, this place seems crowded, but if you go one hour before closing, you can easily get in. There are three young foreign staff members, both male and female. They work efficiently and quickly serve the ramen. The cheapest option is the chicken ramen (soy sauce, salt) for 1,000 yen. There are more foreign customers than locals.

Hyakumeiten (Score 3.78) ✔️ Specialty Salt Ramen with Chicken (1500 yen) ✔️ A well-known shop for its cup noodles with seasoned eggs. The high-end ramen costs 1500 yen, which is quite a gamble. The seasoned egg was enjoyed by dipping it in the remaining broth like tsukemen. The initial feeling of whether this is truly a top-notch shop or not lingered until the end.

You need to walk a little from Shinjuku towards Nishi-Shinjuku, which may explain why the new miso specialty shop is located on the same street. The salt ramen is delicious, but it has a strong salt flavor and lacks a significant impact, with a price of over 1200 yen giving a sense of being overpriced.

It was a little after 6 pm on a regular weekday. I had some work near Shinjuku Kabukicho, so before that, I decided to grab a bite to eat (* 'ᵕ' )☆ I visited Menya Sho, which has been selected as one of the top 100 ramen shops in Tokyo for 6 consecutive years. It had been on my list for about half a year, and finally, there was no line outside at this time of day! (b・▽・)b Great! I ordered the Special Chicken Salt Ramen (tax included 1,500 yen) from the ticket machine inside the restaurant. My friend, who is also a ramen enthusiast, ordered the same one. The price was a bit high, but I was excited to try it out. I sat at the counter near the entrance as there was a seat available. I put on the paper apron provided at the counter, although it was a bit small and didn't cover my sides and belly properly. It felt like wearing a baby's drool bib! A larger size would have been more reassuring. I listened to the kitchen staff chatting in Chinese while waiting for my order. The soup arrived in about 10 minutes, and it looked clear and amber-colored. It was piping hot and had a delicious chicken flavor. The soup alone was satisfying enough, but I was eager to try the noodles. The noodles were flat and medium-thin straight noodles from Kanou Seimen. They had a unique rectangular cross-section and a nice chewy texture. The noodles were fragrant, and the tips were cut sharply. Next, I tried the chicken breast chashu, which was tender and smoked, with a nice peppery aroma. The two comet-shaped wontons were filled with firm meat and had a slightly thick skin. The diced bamboo shoots were crunchy and delicious. The soft-boiled egg was warm and runny inside. Overall, the ramen was well-balanced, with each ingredient contributing to the rich flavor, especially the flavorful chashu. It would have been perfect if there was a bit more noodles and less chit-chat among the staff.

I had ramen for dinner. There were chairs lined up, so I thought it was a famous ramen shop, but it turned out to be a line for the neighboring okonomiyaki restaurant (laughs). I bought a meal ticket and because it was very hot, I chose the cold ramen with chicken and scallops, which is a limited-time menu item (from 8/28). I just couldn't bring myself to eat hot noodles. The staff asked me to choose between soy sauce and salt, and I went with the staff's recommendation of salt. The presentation is beautiful, isn't it?

I went to a ramen shop that has been selected as one of the top 100 shops in Shinjuku. The main options were salt ramen, soy sauce ramen, and paitan ramen. Since it was my first time at this ramen shop, I decided to order the soy sauce ramen. The recommended choice is the salt ramen, which has a soup made with chicken, dried fish, and clam. The soup had a good amount of oil floating on top, and it remained piping hot until the very end!

If you're looking for popular salt ramen in Shinjuku, this is the place to go. The soup is filled with the deliciousness of chicken, shining like gold and absolutely lovely. Once you take a sip, you won't be able to stop, with just the right amount of saltiness and the richness of chicken flooding in. The noodles are light and easy to slurp. Toppings include 4 slices of chashu, 1 flavored egg, 2 wontons, 2 bamboo shoots, and plenty of green onions, making it a luxurious special dish. Definitely worth a try! I finally had the opportunity to visit the long-awaited Ramenya Shou main store, which I had never had the chance to go to before! My coworkers and I were discussing what to have for lunch, and one of my juniors mentioned that they wanted something light and refreshing, so we decided on ramen. I had been curious about this place for a while, so I was excited to finally try it out. I had read comments saying that there is usually a long line, but we were lucky to get in without waiting at noon! As a fan of tonkotsu ramen, it was a nice change to have a light ramen this time. I decided to go with their most popular dish, the "Special Chicken Salt Ramen" priced at 1500 yen, which was a bit on the higher side, but since it's a famous shop, I had high expectations. As for the taste, the soup was chicken-based and light, which I really liked. The noodles were thin and straight with a good texture, cooked just the way I like it. The soup and noodles paired perfectly. The dish also came with about 3 slices of chashu and 2 meat wontons, so it was quite filling and satisfying. I thought it was a perfect match for my hangover from drinking too much the day before. It's a bit of a walk from my workplace, but if I have the chance to work nearby again, I would definitely love to come back with everyone! It was a great meal! I'll definitely be back!

I visited around 2 pm and was lucky to be seated immediately with no wait. The restaurant was a bit small and there were mostly foreign customers. The staff seemed to be new and made a mistake by serving my order to someone else at first, but they quickly corrected it. I ordered the Chicken Special Soy Sauce Ramen with an egg topping, which cost around 1600 yen in total. The ramen was a bit on the expensive side, but it had a strong chicken broth flavor and the smoked egg topping was really delicious.

I was curious about this restaurant near Odoriba Bridge Street that always had a long line. Since it was close to 2 pm, I was able to get in without waiting. I wanted to try the soy sauce ramen, but the recommended No.1 dish on the ticket machine was the salt ramen, so I went with that... It was delicious as usual. The staff was friendly and provided great customer service.

I was craving for something light after drinking late the night before, so I came here. It was a little after 2 pm on a weekday, and I was able to enter without waiting.
[Soup] Delicious chicken-based soup. However, it wasn't as good as expected.
[Noodles] Thin straight noodles. They were slightly soft and quite tangled.
[Chashu] 3 slices of rare pork and 1 slice of rare chicken. Not bad, but the pork had a slight smell.
[Flavored egg] Slightly soft-boiled, perfectly seasoned and delicious.
[Others] 2 meat dumplings. They were hard with little filling. The bamboo shoots had a firm texture and slightly strong seasoning. Green onions.
[Paper apron] Available (small). I might have had my expectations a little too high. Well, it's just a decently tasty salt ramen. I might come occasionally if there's one nearby. Having all foreign staff made me worry about Japan's future.

This shop has a limited edition dish! Once the ingredients run out, it will be discontinued. You can choose between soy sauce and salt, and I decided to go with salt this time. It was the busiest lunch hour, but all the staff seemed to be foreigners. Although it's common for restaurants to face a shortage of staff, it was a bit unsettling to see only foreign staff members without any Japanese employees around. However, the ramen was served shortly after, and the clear soup looked appetizing. The soup had a nice thickness, similar to kombu water, with a rich flavor of chicken and scallops. There was a rainbow-colored oil film on top of the soup, which was quite intriguing. The chashu was tender and delicious, and the noodles were well-chilled and had a nice texture. The combination of the thick soup and the well-cooked noodles made it a satisfying meal. Overall, despite my initial concerns, the ramen was delicious and well-prepared.

The cold ramen with chicken and scallops for 1250 yen (limited time from August 28, 2023) was recently introduced at a ramen shop. I had planned to go there to try it, but suddenly the main branch also started offering a limited cold ramen, and it seemed like the period was shorter there. I decided to visit the main branch instead. There was no line outside, and I entered the shop with only 2 groups of customers ahead of me. I bought a meal ticket from the machine and sat at the counter as directed. While waiting for my order, I watched the kitchen. The dish was served in about 5 minutes. The beautifully presented bowl was a sight to behold. I started with the soup. The rich soup made from scallop broth and chicken was incredibly delicious. The straight medium-thin noodles were perfectly coated in the flavorful soup, enhancing the overall taste. Since the noodles were cooled in ice water, I thought the soup could have been even colder to make it even more enjoyable. Nevertheless, it was already delicious enough. The toppings included two types of pork chashu, bamboo shoots, and chopped green onions. The chashu was tasty, and I finished the meal in no time. It was worth coming to the main branch instead of going to the original shop with Mr. Ohashi.

I visited Menya Sho, a famous ramen shop located a 4-minute walk from Seibu Shinjuku Station, known for its delicious chicken-based salt ramen. The shop has been recognized as one of the top ramen shops in Japan and has won first place in the Instagram salt ramen category. I tried their most popular dish, the Special Salt Ramen with Chicken (1,500 yen). The soup was clear and sparkling, made with chicken, bonito flakes, and dried sardines for a rich flavor. The noodles were thin and straight, complementing the soup well. The toppings included 4 slices of tender chashu, seasoned egg, 2 wontons, bamboo shoots, and green onions. The chashu was incredibly soft and delicious as it was lightly seared.

I came across this restaurant with a high rating on Tabelog while looking for lunch near a curry shop where I had a failed reservation. The ramen had trendy toppings like chashu and wonton. It was tasty but nothing stood out as a highlight, so overall it was decent.
